Winco is where it's at. Really, it's probably here. Looking for some hard to find spice or special type of sauce? There's a good chance you'll find it at Winco, and for less. It's open 24/7, and I've never seen it as crazy busy as other grocery stores around. Huge variety of items and wide open aisles in this spacious store. You like buying in bulk? You'll love Winco. Candy, spices, baking ingredients, granola, coffee, even pet food and treats can be purchased in whatever quantity you need, big or small. Need a 25 lb. bag of carrots for juicing? They've got it. It dawned on me while shopping here one day that even I can reach the stuff on the top shelf, which is impressive since I'm 5'2" and shrinking. Score!!! Keep in mind you'll be bagging your own groceries to save money, and while they accept debit, they don't accept credit cards. BTW, Winco stores are employee owned, which is cool. read more

This morning after picking up some food items went to the self check out station so I can pay for them. Among my items were some avocados, so as I have usually done at other stores, tried to type the name of the item and I couldn't find it so I waved at a woman working at this station, standing ideally , to help me figure out. Little did I know that I was inconveniencing this very rude and obnoxious who scolded at me and told that I should have used the only register with people standing in line to get through. I objected to her rude behavior and told her that I tried to find it as she snapped back you should type the number on the avocado. Not having my glasses I couldn't even read that number. I used to love shopping at Winco, but their lack of reinforcing the mask mandate by the county is extremely disappointing. I left pretty quickly after seeing three different groups without a mask in sight. I will not be shopping here in the near future and would rather pay the price for the mask reinforcement by employees. read more

I am highly concerned that there is no enforcement of mask wearing at this store. I am a high risk person and needed To buy a few things that could not be found online. There was no person at the front asking shoppers to wear masks, which was my first concern. Then as I checked out, 3 of the 4 employees checking people out were wearing masks below their noses, which is completely ineffective. Finally, I went to the customer service desk to inform a manager and after waiting 10 minutes, no one arrived. I then called the store from my car 5 times with NO ANSWER and no way to leave a voice mail. This is absolutely an unacceptable experience. We must protect each other during this pandemic, and it seems clear that WinCo is uninterested in doing so. read more

The prices are a lot lower. This WinCo is clean, well organized, and the employees have excellent customer service. I love their fresh almond butter, and all the bulk items. Checkout can be challenging if you buy a lot of stuff and you are by yourself. I saw one woman just put her groceries back in the cart and then take the items to her trunk. She had bags ready in her trunk, and she just bagged them out there. I liked that idea when it is busy, and it feels like people are breathing down your neck to bag their groceries. read more

I'm in love with the fact there is a WinCo nearby now!! They have such a HUGE selection of all sorts of things, I don't know why anyone would shop anywhere else. Yes, some things are still cheaper at Walmart, but generally everything is about the same if not cheaper. They sent out a flier in the mail the other day proving it as a matter of fact! Warning: You have to bag your own groceries, but they do have paper bags! Unique suggestions: Shasta Soda (under 80 cents a 2ltr - great for parties), Tilamook icecream (which I can't seem to find anywhere else - as an Oregon native, it's a must) and their homemade pizza dough (in the cheese section - $1.25 for a quick delicious dinner, can't be beat!) read more

I went in to grab a few things, wearing a mask that we are mandate to wear by the city of Gilbert, lots of people not wearing masks, nobody at the door telling people they can't enter without a mask. Several of the cashiers had masks on but they had the mask below their noses. What is the point of having a mask on if its not covering the 2 body parts used to breathe. This store has pretty much everything we need. Their prices on many items can not be matched or beaten by the other area grocery stores. I have taken inventory of what we buy to compare, Fry's and Walmart are always more than Winco and often by a large percentage. The store is clean and well laid out. I shop at a lot of different stores but I end up going here 80% of the time for groceries. When I grade a store it's on three things, price, cleanliness, and selection. read more

Our family loves this WinCo! There is one lady who is pretty rude but other than her the staff is great.

I live in Chandler, AZ. This WINCO was a dream come true, relied on them for years, until they went woke in sort of a undeclared way. They started hiring people from Portland, that's always a bad sign, and then they started doing shady things, like saying on their case signs that they were selling Sanderson Farms chicken, but Tyson was what was actually in the case. Tyson is a horrible woke company that's run by China, so they don't care if they're selling poison food to Americans (Tyson ships their "US grown" chicken to China to be processed and shipped back to the US). Their newer Portland (clearly activist) recruits happily double charged for expensive items and now they put up deceptive prices on their egg cases. In bold print it will say something like $2.97 above the 18 egg case when in fine print that you'd need a step ladder to see, they show if you buy 2 the price goes up to $8.99! Now you have to watch everything very closely to make sure you're not getting scammed. Shady, creepy and just terrible from a company that used to be trustworthy, so what else are they short cutting that they're not telling you about?! Check your receipts closely folks to make sure they don't over charge you and please tell all the of the much older folks that you see there that they do this as you're walking through the isles, as a lot of them don't read yelp reviews. read more

Went here with a $10 off $50 or more coupon. Ahead of time I wrote down the prices of all items in the ads on sale that we wanted. It was slightly crowded in any of the food aisles, but this was after church on a sunday. Therefore that can be understood. They offered all items that we wanted and are a full grocery store. They don't ad match or take credit cards or bag your groceries. All items that we wanted were cheaper or same price at Winco than walmart or the ad prices. There was an exception for a few items such as name brand cereal, coke or pepsi products, russet Potatoes 10lbs was $3.49 vs ad of $1.49. That was the biggest differential I found. Steaks and ground beef was over priced. With that said, we spent over $100 and were very pleased with everything. Just have to know to shop elsewhere for select few items. Also beware of the community drums of food! Health hazard with kids and peoples dirty hands all over that stuff. Stick with the tall cylinders or pre-packaged items! We will be doing most of our grocery shopping there from now on! They must of had 12-15 check out lanes open! No wait at all! How nice. Great store overall!! read more

It's been two years since my last review. Well...nothing has changed. They still save on some items by a few percent, coincidentally about the same percent accepting a credit card would cost them. No, they still don't take plastic. The merchandise seems to be fine. You bag your own groceries. Prices are OK, but easily beaten at Costco (or any grocery that has that item on sale). I do like that they're employee-owned. That is nice. Really, just read my last review. This one is the same. I guess that means they are consistent over time, which is a good thing. :-) read more

Do NOT buy gift cards from this place!! 150 spent and none of them work. Went back with receipt and they can't help. Called the card company and they say go back to the store. Never again. I have gotten gift cards from other places and never an issue. read more

Our visit to winco was great. We normally always have a good experience. Winco is a nice clean store. Today my son accidentally knocked a salsa jar over causing it to break. The employees were more than willing to clean it up. I recommend Winco so much that I drive there from Casa Grande. read more

Prices are not that much lower than Fry's grocery store. In fact, they are about the same. They do NOT take credit card. Their store policies are horrible. The restrooms are disgusting. Their customer service is no better than Walmart. The ONLY reason for giving 2 stars is the ability to somewhat purchase grains and beans in bulk bags and "pay by the pound" bins. I would definitely avoid the store like the coronavirus! read more

I have been to a few WinCo,s and the customer services car has always been great. Whoever works the self check should be reviewed. She never says hi, is super rude. She works the evening shift. I have never experienced customer service that way. My family and I spend over 700.00 a month there. Makes me want to go to Walmart. Treat your customers with respect. Not much to ask! read more

WinCo gets about 90% of my food business. Their prices aren't beaten or equalled at any competing chain. They don't take plastic and you will have to bag your own stuff. Inventory is a goodly number of sku's but you will find more extensive selection at competitors. Their deli cold cuts are pretty low priced and good. One thing I don't like is that most of them are pre-sliced. If you ask for something sliced differently they'll do it but you might get a dirty look from some of them. Seafood is fresh. Meats are good but can be better displayed in my opinion. Produce is usually well stocked and fresh. Generally I like the shopping experience and love the low prices. Keep it up WinCo! read more

Eh, it's OK. The prices on produce and bulk items are great; prices on other things are comparable to what you'll find elsewhere, and maybe even a little more if you're conscientious about shopping the sales when you shop elsewhere. As others have mentioned, they don't take credit cards, so make sure you have cash or a debit card when you go. Also, you have to bag your own groceries, so it's probably not the best place to go if you've got your hands full, say with a kid or two or more. I never thought about the ambience of a grocery store, but the warehouse feel, weird layout, and lack of music made me appreciate how comfortable normal grocery stores are to shop in. read more

When I moved back to Arizona after living in Texas for a few years, I was ecstatic, overjoyed, couldn't contain my happiness! That is until I had to go grocery shopping, then I missed Texas just a bit. You see in Texas I lived less than a mile away from a beauty of a store called Aldi. I had the grocery shopping down, most staples at Aldi, a monthly Costco visit and then a Kroger and Tom Thumb every 2 weeks. Coming back to AZ I had to start all over, with the visits to Walmart, Fry's and Safeway but not really happy with the prices or quality of their store brands. I still missed Aldi's bargain prices, the amazing quality of their store brand products and how super fast their cashiers were. Where was I? WinCo. Yes, this review is for WInCo. I drove by WinCo on a trip to Chuck e Cheese, so I made a mental note to visit. The first time I was there I was extremely happy! Now I have become a "regular" and since they have two stores close to me I try to alternate between the Mesa and the Gilbert store. The Gilbert store is much bigger, but they are both equally clean. They have some weeks were prices are not as discounted on my favorite items, but they are still low enough that they beat competitors prices. They will not bag your groceries, they will not help you take them to your car, but they compensate in their prices. I can bag my own groceries. read more

I was very excited for this store to open. I heard great things about it so my daughter and I went today. We walked in, asked a couple of questions and walked right back out! We looked all over the produce area for organic and finally asked a stocker if there was an organic section. He said there was no section and we would have to just look around for it. Really?!! I guess their customer service is not that great and we do not eat gmo foods. This may be a nice replacement to walmart for people that don't care what they eat but it is not for me. read more

I was really excited when I heard we were getting a WinCo. It is a huge store with all kinds of items. One of the things I especially like about WinCo is the bulk foods area. Think Sprouts; these are loose, bulk foods that you decide how much you want and put in a bag yourself. It is a large area offering everything from grains and pastas to candy. The store is extremely clean and did I mention large?? There is a huge deli department, large produce and everything in between. The one negative is that they don't carry all the varieties and brands that I normally get at my local supermarket and when you are used to something, you want to get that and not a substitution. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The prices are mostly good with some hit or miss. I have found that while most of the prices are better, there are a few items that are higher and that may just be due to those items being outside of our regional offerings. You will bag your own groceries so be prepared to do that and cash or debit is king. read more

This WinCo is about 8 miles from where I live but I still pass all the closer stores to come here! I know I save money here and I love that they're open any time I need something! Sometimes I'm even here three or four times a week! Their produce is hit or miss but it's worth it for the deals! Sometimes I'm pretty bummed when I NEED something and they don't have it. I'm not a huge fan of going to a second store but that only happens maybe twice a year! Everyone loves the bulk section. There isn't much I get but the spices are a great deal especially when you only need a tablespoon of something you usually don't keep on hand. Instead of $7 for a bottle of a spice you can get a small scoop for 20 cents! Definitely helps me waste less money. Also the candy in the bulk section makes me feel like my weekly grocery trip is actually a trip to the candy store I almost always grab a small amount of some sweet treat for myself. read more

My family shopped at Winco every weekend when I was growing up in Washington State. I was overjoyed when they opened a Gilbert location! It was a happy blast from the past. The store is huge, and has everything on my shopping list. The prices are low, and they also give you a discount if you bring your own bags. I was at winco yesterday on self checkout with my niece. My light was on twice and the person who work on the register/cashier did not approach to ask us for help instead she went up to someone who didn't ask for help. And the second my light was on, my niece went up to her she acted like she was busy with her phone. She basically went up to each of the station and helped with the other customers except us. The only thing I can think of is probably we are Asians. This is going to be my last time going there. I hope I am the first Asian she is treating this way and will be the last one. read more

Holy bins Batman!! We stopped in here to see what this store was about after the grand opening. Let's just say if you need to buy something in bulk, or out of a bin, this is your place to go. They had everything from beans, to sliced dried pineapple, and coffee beans. The employees were pretty friendly. Looking around the store, it seems to be like a mini Costco based on the selection and shelving. The store is huge so maybe coming during the afternoon is not your best bet to navigate the store, or if you detest large crowds of people. The aisles were appropriately spaced and the store was super clean. An important note is that they do not accept credit cards! So no collecting points from shopping here. Great place to stock up on good quality/less expensive BULK items. My go-to place for certain ethnic/international grains/beans/seasonings. You can package and weigh the items yourself, which saves me at least twenty-five dollars every few weeks. Self Serve/Bulk Oils and Almond/Peanut Butter machines and the Seasonings are my favorites. If you have pets, you will find the Bulk area contains Pet Food as well that you can measure and package. After several visits, and attempts to purchase organic and gmo produce, I will not do so again. Each time, there was mold inside the vegetables. Simply my personal bad experiences at this particular Winco. Please examine your food as best as possible when purchasing. This also applied to the Bulk area: You may find it messy from previous shoppers digging in the bins. To keep the costs down, this Employee-Owned store does NOT accept Credit....only Cash and Debit Cards. Restrooms are clean and staff is always friendly. I am done with Winco. I am fine with people's decision to wear a mask or not wear a mask. I however choose to wear a mask. The maskless couple in back of me decided to harass me over it. The husband got in my face and when I turned away from him he started saying very bad things about people that wear masks. The boy in front of me did not have enough money to pay for his groceries and so the maskless wife offered to pay for his groceries. Did they really think they were being good people by doing this and then disrespecting me for no reason. I just wanted to buy my food so I could come home and eat dinner without any problems. 2-3 weeks ago I bought some whey protein at $10.99/lb in the bulk foods section. Was running low on my whey and WinCo has a great price. Then, I needed to go to Sprouts for something WinCo didn't have and I saw that Sprouts was selling their whey at $4.99/lb. That was less than half the price of WinCo's AND, I have never seen it this low. They are normally at $12.99/lb or more, so since I found that out at WinCo when they opened up at this location, I started buying my whey at WinCo. I called WinCo up and spoke with Dani, who is the manager of the bulk foods section. We talked and though they do not offer refunds, she said she'll price match what Sprouts had. She says normally they do not do price matches, but since the price comparison for the product said Sprouts' whey is more and it wasn't, she said she would honor that price and give me the lower price. A couple hours later, I went back into the store and they gave me the $6/lb difference, which I had purchased about 1.25 lbs. Thank you so much for this.
