The day after her accident, we contacted Equitours and asked if there was SOME dispensation that could be made given this turn of events. While we understood we could not recoup much of our costs (to be clear and fair - we were under the 30 day window, and understand trip guides need to be paid and horses managed for rider spots) we thought perhaps Equitours would work with us and extend some recompense for SOME part of our trip - a credit, a transfer, someone to take our place - we suggested a seriously discounted rate of 40 or 50% off on their website or social media- any rate to get a little back! Equitours simply posted the trip at a 10% discount once on their Facebook page and then our agent immediately went on vacation, kicked off her OOO, and dropped us since our trip was paid for and that was that. No communication, nor was a a single dime of our trip was refunded, transferred, or credited. Equitours pretty much said "oh well." We will NEVER do an Equitours ride again nor would we recommend this company for their terrible customer service.

Biggi with Equitours answered all of my questions. The recommendations for clothing, essentials and travel requirements were all correct, making preparations easy. The guides, Stefnir and Anita were absolutely amazing, and made everyone feel like a member of their family. The trip was well organized with attention to safety and and care of horse and rider. Their knowledge of local history and lore was shared with obvious love of their heritage. The Icelandic horses are indeed amazing in both their strength and their beauty. Thank you, Equitours, Inc. For $600-850 a snow mobile, this outfit is greatly missing customer etiquette. We were told to be ready at 6am sharp. We wanted to confirm which side of the hotel pickup was, however neither the 1800 or 307 numbers work. We called repeatedly, text the 307 number, and had no idea if we'd been scammed until the coach showed up at 6:28. Showing up late with no working phone number was shocking for an outfit that demands logistics and communication at 6am. Once the coach showed up, I asked Jeff (guide) if there's any coffee since it's a 1+ hour ride to Yellowstone and coffee shops were not open. Scenic Safari's response? "You can die for an hour in the back." A bit rude, I ignored it. For comparison, the hotel shuttle that runs FOR FREEE has coffee and hot chocolate prepped in the van. No coffee on a $600-800 per person is one thing, but "You can die for an hour in the back," has ZERO customer etiquette. We get in the coach and the man has the lights on full blast over our heads. When asked to dim them since it's pitch black outside and the contrast painful to anyone with migraines, Jeff makes the remark "lights are going off because there's someone sensitive in the back." Zero basic customer etiquette. Just turn the light off. Everyone heard the request. Three strikes before the fist 30 minutes of the trip with 8 hours to go.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about the Teton area and explaining wildlife behavior in detail. During the 4-hour tour, we visited 6 to 7 different locations. The guide knew all the shortcuts and the best spots to find animals, which gave us great opportunities to observe them up close. The tour also provided water, drinks, and snacks in case we got hungry. We took so many amazing wildlife photos and enjoyed the entire experience.

Dale's knowledge of the park - its history, its wildlife and its geology - was worth every penny. The van was comfortable and allowed for easy viewing of the park. We never felt rushed at any of the stops. Even the breakfast and lunch were good! Dale is very friendly and an easy person to spend the day with. He treated us as if we were long-time friends. Along our tour, we saw a bald eagle, many buffalo, mountain goats that were right next to the road, elk and deer. Dale was shocked that we didn't see any bears that particular day because they are so common. We saw waterfalls, canyons, geysers and way more. The only downside is that we wish we had more time to tour the rest of the park.
