I want to be very honest about my experience with the Corley Mill House. I got married on…read more June 15, 2019. I chose this venue because of the inclusiveness of it all and me living out of town. I don't know that I would choose this venue again due to these 5 most important factors for me: Communication Mrs. Sheila was very good at responding back to my emails very quickly! I was able to reach her by phone and setup times to come in. However, on the pricing sheet it stated there were many other items for use. I asked several times in January and February for the list of items. She said it would be finished by the end of February but I never received it. Food I was the most disappointed with the food. I chose an option for a beef brisket carving station which on the menu explicitly states it is carved in front of guests. There was no carving and the small sliders were already put together. I also chose a mac and cheese action chef station in which the menu also states there are many toppings to choose from such as pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, ,etc. There were no toppings but bacon for the mac and cheese. The beaufort stew skewers were cold and did not seem very fresh. The bartender made my pineapple, rum, and strawberry drinks all wrong. I sent a very specific email stating how these should be made. Instead the ingredients were poured in a pitcher and served from there. Those drinks were to be made when ordered and shaken. Friendliness The entire catering staff that day were very sweet. However, the bartender had a less than pleasant demeanor and not very friendly. I do not feel I had any issues with Sheila or day-of coordinator Nancy as far as friendliness was concerned. Mrs. Sheila was always able to make time to meet me when I wanted to set a quick meeting. Nancy was very pleasant and friendly the day of. Ease of the day I will say that it was a HUGE relief and help to have Nancy directing the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. It is also a huge help because they do help with clean up and getting things to your car. This is a major plus! I rented and paid for 7 hours. 4:30 to 11:30! I did end up cutting the wedding short because many guests had already left and I was feeling tired. I ended and left around 10 or 10:15. I was very disheartened to hear that my family that stayed behind to gather my personal belongings felt rushed to get out of the house. As I was leaving, things were already being cleaned and put away. This should not have happened as I paid for the event to go to 11:30. Cleanliness On the day of my wedding, the card and gift table linen had several crumbs of some sort on which I had to brush off and a small stain. Positives of the venue Good space and beautiful grounds, help with logistics from Nancy during rehearsal and the day of, and they set up everything for you. Needs Improvement FRIENDLINESS from bartender, cleanliness, quality of food and providing exactly what is offered on the menu, taking the time to understand exactly how I wanted things set up, and making my family feel rushed to gather my belongings even though they were still on paid time.

I can not speak highly enough about the communication and venue provided by John Banks who is the…read morenew owner at the Corley Mill House. We chose this venue for both my daughter and now my son's upcoming wedding based on many things, but John's vision for the future of this venue and the new additions, along with his wonderful personality, made The Corley Mill House the perfect spot for our events. The upgrades completed by John, the location, and the inclusion of many items needed for an event really made planning so easy. I highly recommend a visit to this venue as you make wedding plans. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and easy to maneuver for all of your guests. The location is easily located for all those attending your event.

Great service here and Alyssa was the best delivering great service.  In fact she could be the twin…read morefor Kristin Chenoweth. We started off with some fried green tomatoes.  Everyone does their little twist on them and this place did the same.  Personally, I am good with them as is and maybe some remoulade for dipping.  Here they had a pepper sauce that came with them and cheese melted atop the FGTs.  Not bad and nothing killed or overpowered the flavor from the FGTs.  However, I did wish that the pepper sauce had a bit more kick.  I cannot remember the name but the drink of the much was a peach based drink.  It was good and it was not just some peach flavored alcohol but it was made with peach puree.  They had me at peach when she ran through the specials.    For the main entrée it was the ribeye at a medium rare with fries and asparagus.   You get a choice of a bordelaise or garlic aioli to accompany your steak or whatever you want to dip in it.  Steak was cooked to the medium rare as I requested and that is a good start because we know there those places that consider what you ask for as just a suggestion.  Good flavor from the steak with no need for the sauce as I found out and I just enjoy asparagus.    Good experience.  Despite this being my first time here this place gave the vibe as a solid choice.  One of those places where when you are unsure of what you want but don't want to risk something new because you are hungry or with someone who cannot come to terms with their food desires.  This is a that old, trusted place you can rely on when you are hungry and good service.  A first experience that went very well.

Oh, this place CUTE cute…read more I was trying to figure out a place to go for lunch this past weekend that was good for a quick bite but also had some OOMF to it right? Ofc I scroll through Yelp (as one does - literally hi friend!) and one of the top rated is The Bistro. I whip on over there and, albeit confused with the parking sitch (you can park in the back and go in through the side where the restrooms are, or you can go in through the front? Yo no sé.) I was greeted by this gorgeous host who promptly sat me and a drooooopp deeeeaaaddd waitress Annie T, don't get it twisted, came with the suggestions and shoutouts I couldn't be more excited to get. I decided on The Bistro Bee Sting (yall, I mean come on.. look at that photo. DELISH!) and a turkey melt with some cheese grits as a side. So friggin good. A bit expensive but honestly 10/10 will be back. And GET THE BEE STING! I'm still drooling. 8.4/10 only because of price, but service, ambiance, and flavor were all 10's.

A great zoo experience!…read more We took advantage of the CoolPASS offered by Experience Columbia, SC getting us access to the Riverbanks Zoo & Gardens, EdVenture Children's Museum, and the South Carolina State Museum and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend! This also covers your parking for the zoo. Easy to redeem by going to Will Call. A short 2.5hr drive from Savannah, GA was well worth it! Staff was helpful for any questions. General admissions gets you access to the Zoo, Botanical Garden, Waterfall Junction, and Saluda Skyride. They do have additional experiences at an additional costs but not necessary if you are okay with missing out of the petting zoo, animal feedings, the carousel, train, and the Sky High Safari. A couple of food options are available such as burgers, chicken fingers, pizza, sandwiches/wraps, and Kona Ice. Meals are easily $20 per person if you are purchasing drinks. No outside food and drinks are permitted into the zoo but you can bring refillable water bottles. Picnic tables are available outside of the park and same-day re-entry is possible if you show your original receipt. We easily spent 5 hours at the zoo without any of the "Explore More" options. A full day at the zoo is very possible! Plenty of shade and things to see and do! Drop-off or 15-minute parking is available if you have someone in your party who may struggle with walking from the parking lot. Bring your own stroller or they have them available for rent if you needed. We saw many families with wagons/carts.
