Veggie burger and sweet potato fries
    Linda G.

We had a good lunch here. Sat outside due to Covid. Nothing really special (except the view), but nothing bad either. I like to eat vegetarian, so I had the veggie burger. it tasted just like something off the Gordon Food Service truck, which coincidentally, we saw pull up as we were leaving. It was served on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato and pickle. I chose the sweet potato fries for my side item - they were thick-cut and not all thoroughly cooked, but they were okay. My husband had the pork sandwich and potatoes salad - he liked both of these a lot. The lake view is glorious, and this is a wonderful spot for a sunny summer afternoon. We got our food pretty quickly, and it feels like they're trying their best during the Covid situation. The strawberry daiquiri was a highlight. We dined here a second time this week, because we are staying in the area, and we like the view. This time we had the Nachos for Two - plenty to share and very cheesy.

We were staying at Fourwinds Resort and decided to stay on property to eat. We popped into the Windjammer about 5:30pm. It wasn't very busy - about half a dozen tables filled and a few people at the bar area. Although it wasn't very busy, things seemed a little frantic with the waitstaff. We saw at least 3 waiters at various times but the would disappear into the kitchen for several minutes. Maybe they were helping prepare food? No idea. We ordered the fish and chips, cheesesteak with sweet potato fries, and the fried green tomato BLT with potato salad. The fries served with the fish and chips had some kind of batter coating. Apparently the fish and cheesesteak were good because I didn't even get a taste. I really wanted to like the BLT. After all, it has FRIED GREEN TOMATOES! I really liked the tomatoes and the bacon, but the sandwich just didn't come together. There was a little avocado sauce smeared on the bun, but it just didn't give enough moisture or creaminess to the sandwich. I experimented with some leftover tartar sauce, the brazenly asked for ranch dressing. Ranch is so good with FGTs and I figured that it couldn't hurt. It wasn't bad. Overall, it was okay. I'd probably eat there again if we just didn't feel like getting out the car and driving.

Fries were good, but not fresh made.

I had anticipated my visit for a little while now but I can imagine I'd be delighted to find this spot on an adventure through the area. The vast plant nursery was also delightfully unexpected. The inside of the Farmhouse is just like a farmhouse, with the most charming interior that feels like Thanksgiving dinner with a collection of all the tables and chairs that you could find in your house to host everyone. First course, delightfully unexpected, was queso and chips! Free of charge, we were served a nice Rotel-style queso dip with multigrain chips. Yum! The tea selection is nice, it's all bagged teas that you get a small pot of. I got a salted caramel tea. Delish! Delightfully unexpected! I got the chicken salad sandwich with kettle chips. I love a chicken salad sandwich and this one hits the spot. We split a slice of peach pie for dessert that was just lovely and warmed up for us. All courses arrived pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend a stop to the Farm House on your trips to Brown County. I hope I can make more road trips in my future plans as soon as I can so I can visit again!

They deliver a bowl of warm spinach & cheese dip with stone ground chips. Very tasty. It took a little longer to be served as today was extremely busy with several large groups. Our table tried the chicken salad sandwich, ham sandwich, chicken, BLT wrap and vegetable quiche. All dishes are served with a side of potato salad, fruit or seasoned chips. The servings are plentiful and flavorful. The chicken salad is seasoned with dill and tarragon, nicely balanced. The chicken BLT was filled with chicken and bacon. The ham sandwich was a bit skimpy on the amount of ham. The quiche was a bit overcooked. All in all it was a delightful girls outing as we also walked around the flower and herb garden. We would return.

Decided we'd do a dinner of beer cheese, salad and wings. Enjoyed the beer cheese and pretzels, though it's not something that I'd order regularly. Side salads fine, nothing memorable, but at least they were fresh and crispy. Liked the wings, I got hot, the wife got sweet thai chili. When ordering, she said she'd give me one or two of hers, but she liked them so much that she finished off the plate, so that's a rave review! My hot wings were reasonably spicy and meaty as well. Appreciated the wipes! It's not going to win a Michelin star, but if we were in the area, we'd visit the troll again.

I arrived at "Troll Pub" (love the name) and walked downstairs. The ambiance is dark, but welcoming. I was taken to the bar-area, and the barista was extremely nice and helpful in choosing my appetizer (fried pickles) and of course, getting my taste of my first Hot-Brown. The pickles were absolutely delicious. Fresh, crisp, with a bit of sour. Absolute 5/5. Now on to the Hot Brown ---- this is hot open-faced sandwich --- let me stop, here's the accurate description: thick-sliced turkey and bacon on toast, smothered in a creamy Mornay (cheese) sauce, and baked until bubbly. What I liked about their particular hot-brown (like i could compare...), was that the bread was torn into pieces, so it was very easy to eat. I get it now , Louisville!
