Went to four sisters cafe and there was a 30 minute wait on a weekday. So we decided to try the Window Box Cafe a friend told us about. It's tucked back in in five star blvd! When we got there we were seated right away and immediately greeted and got our coffee and water. The service was excellent and our food was hot, fresh and appetizing. Not sure why people have reviewed this place so well. The lady at the front was very unfriendly when we walked in. The decor is dingy and "grandma like". The food is greasy. I would consider it average to below average. I got the croissant sandwich and my boyfriend got a scramble. I would call it similar to Denny's. Our server was very sweet and the prices were good. I would much rather go to black bear diner or four sisters (obviously) for breakfast. read more

The atmosphere is nice. The menus were paper and were torn which turned me off in the beginning. There was only one waitress ands she was really working hard to keep up. Good portions of food. Follow up review this wonderful little breakfast hideaway seems to have lost some of what made it so great when it first opened. A frequent visitor who had now been extremely disappointed the last 2 visits. Quality of food was below average and wait time was slow. Excellent breakfast burrito. It has chunks of potato rather than hash browns. Quite good, if a little too big for one meal.

Friendly service. Cute place. Hash browns were delicious. They accommodated my Vegetarian request to add an additional egg rather than the meat on my light eaters breakfast. I would give this place a 5 star but was bothered by the younger female wait staff gossiping with a couple who were having breakfast, I believe they were friends. It's a small nice and clean place. The food was amazing and we will go back. I just don't think it's professional or appropriate for the staff to openly gossip or have personal conversations in the vicinity of people enjoying breakfast. My brother and I were headed to the Sacramento Convention Center for the annual Unified Wine & Grape Symposium and were looking for a highly-rated place for breakfast. The Window Box Cafe had excellent reviews so we thought "Let's give it a try." That turned out to be an excellent decision because everything about our breakfast was outstanding. The Cafe is located a block or two off the main road but finding it is more than worth the effort. I had the Biscuit and Gravy Platter, and it was among the best I've had. The biscuits were light and tasty and the gravy had a bit of spice, just the way I like it. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausages tasty, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender inside. Yumm! To top it off the price was excellent. Tiffany, our server, was fantastic. She makes you feel welcome, is very professional, has a fantastic personality (she even put up with our corny jokes), and is one of the best servers I've encountered in years of wandering through the western states. My wife and I went there today for breakfast/brunch at 11:00. They were serving breakfast. I ordered the Biscuit and Gravy Platter. My wife ordered a cinnamon roll and their Eggs Benedict. The cinnamon roll was not actually a "roll". It was under cooked and almost raw dough in places. We should have returned it. My breakfast included sausage, eggs over easy, hash browns and a biscuit with gravy. My hash browns were not crisp or crunchy. They were cooked but not to my liking as hash browns. My eggs over easy were eggs over runny egg white. Not adequately cooked. The least acceptable part was the biscuits and gray. The "gravy" was a white flour mix with maybe a dash of sage. It lacked any flavor. My wife's Eggs Benedict eggs were over down and the yolk was almost completely solid. After we left we realized that we should have sent everything back. We generally are not that kind of patron; but, clearly most of our meals were not acceptable. We will not be going back again. read more

So glad I tried this place. First off the decor is super cute. I think the building was an old Mexican restaurant so it's a very Spanish style building and nice and open dining room. The waitress and host were very friendly and very attentive. We went around 10:30 and they were steady but we got a table right away, large restaurant. Eggs Benedict are my favorite so I have to try them everywhere I go. This place was superb! The portion was also huge! The hollandaise sauce was right on the money and the country potatoes were perfect! My husband had Cary's mess- an egg scramble with ham, sausage, cheese and veggies mixed in. It was very tasty and again a large portion. We had a side of biscuit and gravy and we're happy we did. The biscuit was fluffy and delicious and the gravy was amazing. Went there for the first time today. Took the whole family, including 2 toddlers. This place has got a family feel to it, nice bright atmosphere, and good service with a friendly smile. The lady who seated us also brought crayons and a coloring book to keep the toddlers busy. We enjoyed the food, coffee cups never went empty, and we left the place wanting to come back again the following weekend. read more

I heard about this place from a friend and thought I would try it out. The omelette was amazing, my husband got a chicken stir fry. It tasted better then it looked. This place was disgusting. We waited way longer than the estimated wait time. They do not utilize their space very well. They had tables to seat 8 people and nothing smaller which creates lines outside. I ordered the scrambled eggs that came out uncooked and watery, sausage was old, and the potatoes were harder than an erect P****. They brought out my English muffin at the end and the waitress said it took a while because they burned the first one. All the food was either messed up or burned and dry. My son and I had breakfast there this morning I ordered the standard scrambled eggs bacon hash browns and little side of pancakes my son had the spinach omelette .We were pleasantly surprised because we are very picky about where we go for breakfast. All the service staff was very attentive and kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied the owner is also a very nice woman and the ambiance is very home style which I like but more importantly the food was surprisingly greater than my expectation there are not too many good restaurants in Rocklin that serve a really good breakfast so kudos to you !!!! read more
