Fun fact, May is busy. Weddings, prom's, Bar Mitzvahs... it is all happening. Walking in a week before prom, I was concerned we were SOL but as long as we were ok with the traditional black tux, Sam's could make it happen. This was actually our first choice. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy. After wandering around, it appeared a line was forming so we lined up. However, after a few moments, a younger women approached asking how she could help. She measured, wrote up the order and and cashed us out in less than 10 minutes. She explained what the next step would be and we were on our way. I have tagged his mom and grandma in for pick up but based on past experiences with my boys and the efficient from last Saturday I have every confidence everything will be fine. TBH I have no idea how they compare to other tuxedo places, pricewise, but I think they have a great selection and the customer service is clearly a priority. Now that I am done with dressing young men for prom I will have to find some black tie events for my husband to take me to. :-) They have a very nice selection of mens clothing and they might do alternations, although I am not sure if that is just for purchase from them or if they take outside work as well. A+ customer service! Highly recommend.

    I have to start by saying I had to let time pass to write this review because I was so upset at the…read morebehavior/process of Jim's Tuxedo... First and foremost I would warn anyone who is thinking about renting from here. I drove 600+ miles to be fitted by the tailor at Jim's 4 months before the wedding (I was the best man, so it was important). The female with the glasses measured me, putting the height and weight in the wrong slots, not measuring my inseam (I've been measured before and this was never skipped) and doing everything extremely fast. 4 months later I return for the final fitting and pickup a few days before the wedding. The suit was too big, which happens and is understandable, but what wasn't understandable was the same woman who measured me immediately asked if I went on a diet, and I told her no and that I specifically didn't lose or gain weight because of the tux... She told who I can only assume is Jim, and he asked her who measured me. She said she did, and again I was asked if I had gone on a "crash diet", so I had to explain to Jim that I hadn't, which it's none of his business that I did or not. So I go back and take my stuff off (only the shirt fit) and notice there are no mirrors in the fitting room. I found this odd so I started looking around at the signs. One said that they are short staffed "like the rest of the country" - the country is no longer short staffed, and jims tuxedo is a family business. They also had an "American first" sign, while their shirts are "handcrafted in China". While reading the signs I also heard Jim talking to the woman who measured me, he told her to call the place that they ordered the tux from and her reply was "I don't call places" so he had to for her. (I have to note that before I tried on the tux I could hear the older, heavier woman that works there complain about how she was tired of trying people's suits on... I'm sorry, you don't do hardly anything you just put suspenders on and measure, we dress ourselves, we don't walk around naked in a tux shop, it's your job) I go back the next day to pick up my fixed tuxedo... And I immediately notice that the kirk plaque had grown into a full blown shrine on top of one of their clothing racks. The plaque was there along with a few other pictures and a t-shirt. I also noticed the "wanted" Trump t-shirt they had for sale behind the counter at this time. So clearly feeling like these people are forcing their political opinions on me, I just wanted my stuff and to go. I made sure everything fit, and this time the male with the long hair helped me. Which I shouldn't have to say it, but with working in a tux shop you'd think he'd be a little more clean cut and shave his neck? He wasn't even wearing socks. My stuff fit and I left. Everything SHOULD HAVE been right at this time. But. When all the groomsmen got to the hotel and started to get dressed I noticed that JIM'S TUXEDO HAD GIVEN ME THE WRONG CUFFLINK COLOR. This with everything added up is so out of line it's insane. Everyone had grey pearl and I had cheap looking black plastic. Luckily, Jim's gave one of the little kids in the wedding party an extra pair of the correct color so I used those. Even the suspenders were worn out and wouldn't stay closed/clasped, you have to bend them back when they get too worn or replace them, Jim's obviously has not done either. For Jim's tuxedo to be serving such a wide demographic, yet align themselves with such divisive characters, and then on top of that offer a subpar experience is doing the entire downriver community a disservice. Im going to recommend to everyone I know of downriver to not shop at Jim's, and to go to the mall or some other local shop. If the staff doesn't want to work, perform their duties, treat ALL the customers with grace, then let the business go because you're spoiling people's cherished moments and memories.

From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcome and taken care of. Although I'm sure all of their stylists are wonderful, I was incredibly lucky to work with Isabel, and I truly cannot give her enough praise. She was absolutely incredible. Isabel was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the gowns--fabric, designers, styles, silhouettes, details--you name it. She answered every question we had and made me feel reassured and completely comfortable, more than any other shop I visited (and I visited a good few!). One thing I loved was how personal the experience felt. During my first consultation, Isabel asked about my (then) fiancé, how we met, and details about our wedding day. It truly felt like they cared about me and wanted to get to know my story. I honestly felt like I became friends with them! There was never an ounce of pressure. In fact, it was the opposite--they respected when I needed time to think and never made me feel rushed or questioned my decisions. It was such a refreshing, positive experience. This shop--and especially Isabel--is genuinely at the very top of my list of wedding vendors. I've been excited to write this review since the day I bought my dress! Even after my dress purchase, I visited a few more times to look for a veil, jewelry, and accessories, and every single person I interacted with (front desk, phone calls, stylists) was so kind, encouraging, and helpful. But then I needed an outfit, and I had no idea where to start. That's were Mya took over for me. I gave her absolutely nothing to go off of really. She asked about the event (I readily admit I was vague -- runway show with corporate mingling). I gave her my sizes. She asked what styles I liked and could wear, and my answer was anything and everything. I don't think I could have made it more difficult. Here's the impressive part. Everything she brought me I loved. EVERYTHING! Did I need a different size? She had it in no time. When I asked her what she thought, she was honest and gave great critiques. How should I wear this skirt? Mya had an answer. What color should I pair this with? Here's another top to try. All I really went in for was that pair of boots. I walked out with five skirts, two tops, three body suits, and that gorgeous pair of boots. I have never had such excellent service at any clothing store. She picked literally every piece I purchased. And I have never been that impressed and pleased with someone's taste. Mya was amazing! I am without question going back to this store again. If Mya is there, I will walk out with more than I expected and be damn pleased about it!

However,…read moreI took my daughter there to chose a dress for homecoming and another dress for an opera she is attending for school. She fell in LOVE with one dress in particular, it was like it was made for her, she was absolutely beaming, but it was just a tad too small and we felt going up one size would be the best. They didn't have that dress in their store in the size we needed, so the sales girl checked around and another store had it. She asked if we wanted it shipped to their store, took down all my info and said she would get it ordered. 10 days later I've still heard nothing, I called and left a message after about 7 days of not hearing, no return call. So on Monday I call again and leave yet another message (and their recording says I'd get a call back within 24 hours... did not), again no return call. Finally I emailed the Toledo store directly and a few hours later I get a call. They basically admitted they never ordered the dress. In the end we had to scramble to find a dress that my daughter didn't really like, nor did it fit well, but it was the best we could do last minute. It definitely affected her confidence and how she felt that evening. She was so excited about that dress and was crushed when I told her nobody ever bothered to order it (and she ordered it from her favorite sales associate so that upset her too because they had a convo about it) I'm really disappointed because that was our "go to" store for formal/dress wear and I have daughters so it's a place we frequent a lot. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt with Windsor's serious delay in getting back to me due to homecoming season and stores being swamped, but after 2 calls that were never returned and me finally having to send an email to get a half ass apology phone call is just poor customer service. I hate that I have to leave a negative review about one of our favorite stores, but this was really a let down how it was (wasn't) handled. (Toledo, Ohio Store 39)
