I got to this car wash since it's only a few blocks from my house. At first, I thought it was just an oversight on the cleaning and brushed it off. Now it's a repeat and I'm not happy about this. Solid car wash but they tricked me. When you look from the street there is 1-2 cars being washed but they have 8-10 in the drying area. Smart for drive by business. BAD for repeat business. Love the service; dirt cheap by comparison to others and they do a solid (not spotless, per se, but for the price, it's a steal) job. On the downside, their hours seem to be just a suggestion. On multiple occasions I've driven over after work (~6 p.m.?) to find them closed. I have been coming here for 10+ & never had an issue until last month when I came in to get a wash and they cracked my window more then what it was simply because no one understood English after I asked the guy that said yeah but totally didn't understand a bit of English! So I asked for the owner who does speak English and he was no one where to be found he said in Spanish which I understand I just don't speak it! Where do I start? They steal the little random things in your car. Beware. The 3 or 4 times I've been there early in the morning, they're late opening the door. We took our truck today- they had no cars when we got there and they quickly fell behind because they were working so ridiculously slow: they took over 30 minutes to just clean the inside of my truck and They left the truck on the whole entire time with the heat on! They guy even messed with my radio because it was moved when I got in it. At some point, their boss or someone got there with food and the guys were eating while cleaning the trucks. I Paid $17.99 for an early bird "SUPER WASH" which is normally MORE $$ and it was TERRIBLE!! wheels & wheel wells still dirty, car is still wet, trunk unvacuumed and all inside of doors including trunk were still wet and description says on their website completely inner doors cleaned and dried. Then paid $34.99 for a BAD engine wash . Just some sprays of a purple liquid and a once over with a spray wash. Also to clean dash or wipe inside windows is extra!! Receipt says I saved $11 but now I have to spend $20 somewhere else to get the job done right. I'm not expecting showroom floor quality but DAMN!! they didn't have to do my truck like that! .......and I tipped! My boy Angel told me about this place and it is now the only car wash I go to. First time I went was a Saturday morning around 10am and they were super packed. You pull in and leave your keys in the car, once you go inside and tell the cashier, which was the manager that day, what you want done he will go out and let the guys that are washing the car know. You can sit in the waiting room where there is a big flat screen tv on the wall with about 5 chairs. This particular day Jaws was just coming on which I have honestly never seen from the beginning. If you don't want to sit inside you can either go into their audio and rim shop which is attached to the car wash or go wait in the garage where they are washing the cars behind the rail guard. Behind the rail guard they have a couple of vending machines with candy, chips, soda, etc. I got the superwash with the undercarriage, inside complete vacuum, windows cleaned, mat blaster, dash cleaned, wax, etc. Came to $12, totally worth it. When they are all done cleaning they leave your keys on the stand next to your car and you pick them up and head out. I really like this place and they do a fantastic job. They were open, and it was warm inside, during the polar vortex part deux. They are efficient, washing pretty much all of the cars that can fit in the garage at any given time. Early bird special is now $6.99, The regular is $10.99. A detail is $99. They were efficient, prety much cleaning the whole time my car was inside the building, but they took their time and got it right. Only one mat really needed a special cleaning, so they took that one out and cleaned it specially. They got pretty much everywhere, and while it wasn't spotless, it's about as good a cleaning as I think my car has gotten, and the price obviously can't be beaten, particularly the early bird special. I can see the line getting bad, and it's an inconvenient place to wait because you're pretty much in the street, so when I go I'll try to make sure it's at a randm time. Friendly staff. read more

New update: For the third time. My thermostat I put in the vents to check the temperature is gone again. It was definitely STOLEN When I talk to the manager, he denies anything like this happening. He claims all his guys are honest. Not three times. It's nowhere to be found in the car. I have been coming to this place for years. Not anymore. Too many times, I had stuff missing from car. Washed my car and never again. Damage my window tint film, didn't clean the rear seats also. Very poor interior clean up. And the car is not used a lot. Manager and window tint person started to argue and raising there voice stating is impossible the car wash did that. read more

This place used to be fantastic, until the new owners took over. Before it was run like a well oiled machine, my car was always spotless and the employees always had a smile. I was usually in and out in under 15 minutes. Now, there are three guys working, people are disgruntled and to top it off, when paying, the guy didn't even thank me or smile. A family friend recommended this spot so I decided to check it out. I'm quite particular about where I get my Audi A6 washed b/c the reality is that car is my baby. I've checked out over a dozen hand car washes in different neighborhoods but have never been completely satisfied. The really good places charge too much and the cheaper places do a half assed job on the wash. Here's my thoughts on Windy City: 1) Hands down the best wash for the dollar. $12 inside and out. 2) Perfection is in the details and they didn't miss one. Floor mats properly placed (not thrown back in like some other places do) in their appropriate spots, not one water spot left on all the car, they vacuumed in between the seat and the middle console and the rims and tires were shined up so bright! 3) It felt like they were custom washing my car not trying to get it through the production line. Not sure how long Windy City has been around but I think my quest to find the best hand car wash in Chicago is finally over. read more

$13 HAND wash (inside and out!). DEAL ALERT! Although you might have to wait 10-15 minutes (depending on the time you get there), it is well worth it. You can either wait in the waiting room (spacious with a tv) or stand off to the side and watch your car get restored to its original form (or...probably better than it's original form). Make sure you get the loyalty punch card because I think your 7th wash is free or something like that. CC's accepted, but there's a cash tip box near the exit. I can't believe I am writing a car wash review. This is my first time to have a car in the big city. In other large cities that I have lived in I always traveled by bus, rail, and foot. But this time around in Chicago I brought my Toyota Camry along for the ride. She gets me out of town for the weekend and helps carry my groceries home. I am thankful. And I need to respect her need to be clean. Growing up we always made a day of it and washed the cars in the driveway. A sham, bucket, and dish soap were all we needed. But those fun days are over. And the Chicago winter has made my sweet car look nasty and ill. Windy City Hand Car Wash is in my neighborhood and I always drive by thinking "I should go here." And I finally did. I needed the salt and dirt washed away. Less than $10 for a wash and vacuum. UNBELIEVABLE. And it took about 15 min, with a full line. Quite the operation happening here. I took my new car here on Saturday to get cleaned since this place has great reviews and is down the street from my apartment. My thoughts on Windy City, starting with the cons: 1- Not so safe that you have to wait in a line of cars on Fullerton to get in to the garage. 2- Took almost 30 minutes for my car to get washed, dried and vacuumed. Seeing how there are a lot of employees cleaning cars here, you'd think it wouldn't take this long for a simple wash. 3- Brought my car home and noticed my front bumper looks like it wasn't washed at all, there are still dead bugs all over the bumper. And not to nit-pick but there are specs of dirt on the interior of my car that were not cleaned off either. Pro's: 1- $9.99 for a wash, Wednesday is Ladies get 1/2 Off Day (might come back for a $5 wash) 2- The employees are very nice. 3- It's close to home. I may or may not be back. read more

Let's be honest here. My car....not fantastic. 2004 Civic...140k on the clock, a few bumper bruises, etc. But I'm still pretty picky about keeping it clean. I wax it twice yearly, I get it hand washed because it's black and regular car washes leave swirl marks in the paint. So I decided to check out the nearest car wash the other day to get it scrubbed. I understand a hand car wash takes a bit of time. That's cool. But 35 minutes to wash, dry, vacuum, and clean the windows? That's a bit excessive. And here's what I got for my 35 minutes. Streaks and spots on the paint. Those can generally be avoided by using clean towels, and drying the car when you're done washing it. Not letting it sit for 10 minutes with rinse water on it. Streaks and spots on the windows. Again, clean, dry towels. Additionally, when I pull in...someone should probably come up, ask what type of wash I want, and point me towards a cash register. I'm a bit apprehensive about leaving my car under the "eh, it'll get done" theory. I'd hit Logan Square Car Wash down on Milwaukee before this place. read more
