Never disappoints. Best wings I have ever had anywhere. It's a must go to when in the Charlotte area. We even get some to go when we leave. Never had a bad flavor. And soooo many to choose from. And to top it off........... crinkle fries. Can it get any better? Go there now!!!! read more

I wish I still lived near Wing King. The food is pretty delicious and I love the true flavor variety they have. Sometimes, dry rubs are just varying salt flavors and the sauces are essentially just various BBQ and buffalo, but not here. My personal favorite are the boneless ranch wings + the incredible buffalo chicken sandwich. I have, on occasion, experienced drier wings than I like, but that's been maybe twice out of 50 occasions. The servers are always friendly and patient. I will say, it gets busy here. I don't prefer to come on weekend nights or sports afternoons, but generally, you can come in during the day or on a weeknight and get fast service. Can't wait to go back! read more

We went to try wing king for the first time last Friday. Our first impression was this must be the wing spot as it was packed. Barely found parking outside! Staff was friendly but I didn't see our waitress much after we had our order taken. We ordered the half onion ring basket, hot garlic wings w/ ranch basket and 5pc grilled Cajun XXX Teriyaki all flats. The onion rings came out fast and they were really good. The hot garlic sauce is SOO good but the bones and surrounding meat was cold. Our waitress wasn't around for me to let her know that the wings were not that hot so I ate around what I could with the fries. The Cajun wings were completely burnt. Inedible. We tried to power through but it was too bitter. When she came to our table we asked for a new order. We got through the first 3 wings and realized the last two were also completely burnt and inedible. Our waitress took the Cajun wings off our bill which was appreciated. The sauces and onion rings alone make me want to return and give it another chance! Hopefully the second time is the charm! read more

I ordered the king sampler with fried pickles. The wings were overcooked, chewy & hardly any sauce. The fried pickles were horrible & soggy. I picked them up during the timeframe when ordering online. Everything was cold. This was my 1st time trying this place out.I will not be a return customer. I was very disappointed. read more

I was coming home from the University section of town and realized that the cold / rainy weather had me trapped on the highway. I decided right then to order food to-go instead of cooking. I phoned in an order for boneless chicken tenders and was advised that the food would be ready in 15 minutes. Traffic was so heavy that it took an extra 10 minutes to reach the restaurant. Upon arrival the busy bar staff greeted me right away which was surprising. I advised that I was there to pick up my order and the server confirmed my name then handed me my already bagged order. I paid, then exited the restaurant. It took only about 8 minutes to get home but I could smell the food so I knew it was hot and was looking forward to those juicy tenders in my mouth. Once home I opened my bag and was really disappointed to see that what was in the bag was not what I ordered. It was chicken wings. Now I am not opposed to a good chicken wing, but they were not what I ordered and on this night, also were not what I wanted. What was I to do on an already cold, rainy night with high traffic? I grabbed a plate, a napkin, and a fork and dug in. The chicken was slightly dry but the flavor was good. I can only give Wing King a rating of 3 tonight since the order was totally wrong and the wings were slightly dry. Staff as always was pleasant and the facility was clean. read more

Our usual Tuesday get together usually involves wings and beer. Lately, it's been the Wing King in Fort Mill. This time, we decided to get past the fact that this WK is actually in a gas station plaza and give it a try. I opted for 15 honey hot BBQ boneless wings. A little drippy in the sauce department, but the chicken bits were cooked right, the sauce tasted great and they were piping hot. Good choice. Beer specials, or at least reasonably priced beer. Lots of stuff that's been fried. What's not to love? read more

Nope. Not at all what I thought when I read the reviews. Wings are ok, but stuck behind a Shell has station with literally no parking, and two homeless people standing outside asking for money. This place would do really well in a better neighborhood. read more

Almost all employees wore their masks below their noses. And almost all employees removed their masks when in the kitchen. Yes - the area where food is prepared for every single customer; the employees are not wearing masks. Wait staff lowers them as soon as they enter the kitchen. The kitchen staff that I could see wore no masks at all. The manager claimed to not know going maskless around food was an issue. read more

So I love wings, but I happen to be one of those weirdos who prefers boneless wings because I hate dealing with sinews and creepy bones. This can make it a challenge to find wings that I like, as many places don't have boneless wings and only offer chicken fingers. I'd heard of this place for awhile, but we just never ended up being on that side of town until yesterday. It's not a particularly prepossessing place. It's located in a rundown-looking set of shops, and the inside of this restaurant is just like a dive bar. They've got a marginal selection of beers on tap. I would prefer more variety, but at least they had a handful of options to choose that weren't crappy American domestics. I really loved the wings we got. We went with the sampler platter, which gives you five sets of five, letting you try some different flavors. The hot ranch was incredible, and we liked the Old Bay ones, too. Other flavors weren't necessarily as delicious, but there was nothing I hated. I will say that nothing we got was really spicy, which is a shame because we both love spicy things. However, we may have just inadvertently missed the hotter things on the menu. The fries with gravy were also pretty solid, although I do prefer brown gravy on fries instead of white gravy. Still really good, though. Service here was not great, however. It wasn't busy when we went, but I felt a little ignored by our waitress, who spent more time with the bar patrons than with her tables. Even though service could be improved, I still really liked the food and am happy to eat there again the next time I'm in the area. read more

If your looking for a dive bar type place with great good, the Wing King is it. It has been there for a long time (I have no idea how long). I used to avoid it like the plague because it was so smokey, you literally could not see from one side of the place to the other. The new smoking ban in restaurants has eliminated that issue and now I go there often. The wings are always great (always have been). They are some of the best we have had in Charlotte. The rest of the menu is great as well. I definitely recommend it if your in the area and looking for that type of food (or a cold adult beverage). read more

First time trying fried pickles too. I am so lucky I still live within a mile away because I would be very upset if I couldn't have it near me, I quite certain my family feels the same. I told him that I could bring them back, only two were missing so he could replace them. I was told that I would have to order more and could get a 10% off my next order and I explained to him that I was only visiting, so could he just replaced the previously ordered wings. Needless to say, they did not. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. My hard earned money wasted and I did not get any good wings. Please if ever in Charlotte, do not go to this establishment looking for any good food, it definitely sucks! You have been warned. I rather give them a - - - negative zero, but there is not one!

There is an order counter, fridges to buy bottle drinks like soda or water, and a kitchen window where they will call out your order number when it's ready. I had been craving a cheese steak but was extra hungry so I threw in a small order of chili cheese fries as well. The cheese steak was very good although it was a little smaller than I was hoping for. The chili cheese fries on the other hand came in heaps especially considering it was only a small order. I enjoyed my meal and felt that it was an excellent place to stop in for a quick bite. It's nothing fancy or groundbreaking, just an old school lunch spot serving up the classics.

We ordered 15 medium boneless wings and sweet potato fries. The food came out fast so we didn't have to wait long at all. The wings were hot and really tasty. No complaints there. The sweet potato fries were not great. They were cooked inconsistently so some of them were really good and some were barely cooked so next time we will skip those and just do wings. We will try Wing King again because the wings were really good.
