I really want this place to work for me because it's conveniently located on this side of town, but unfortunately, every time I come, I leave disappointed in either the food or the drinks. The waffles were so hard that I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent them out, and I can't believe I actually tried to eat them! I really want to see this place succeed, but they definitely need to work on consistency, especially with both the food and the drinks. Charged $10 to add Baileys to expresso martini and claimed it was a shot. Bailey's is not liquor and has 17% alcohol, so to charge it as if it is a shot is scam activity. That's like charging $10 for a small shot of Hpnotic, especially without notifying that it is that much of an additional charge. I understand an upcharge, but $10 is absurd for what was a splash of Baileys. It wasn't even 1.5oz brought out in those small plastic communion cups. Upon Google review, "A $10 upcharge for a shot of Baileys Irish Cream in an espresso martini is unusually high. Normal liquor and modifier upcharges at restaurants generally range from $2 to $6. Attractive and comfortable restaurant; however, they have a major flaw. They do NOT have menus. The waitress pointed to a square thingy on the table. Neither my friend or I have the capability to use it, and frankly we shouldn't have to. I'd like to look at my options in-hand. Instead, the waitress literally had to verbally tell us every single item the restaurant had since there were no menus. I'm taking a star off for this ridiculous inconvenience. The only reason I'm giving 4 Stars is because of the quality and price of the food. The music was loud and annoying for dinner. The mashed potatoes were seasoned to perfection and cheesy. The asparagus were cooked thoroughly and perfect. (Not the silly al dente found at some restaurants). My family and I love this place. We live around the corner from here and would come almost every week. I usually never have a problem but tonight was my worst experience ever. I'd give this place a 4.5 star but Sydney gave me a bad taste in my mouth. So I Give this service a 0. Never once check up on us. I have to wave her down. Gave us a pitcher of water but no cup until 20 minutes later I have to wave her down again for it but she gave me an attitude about it. Gave no napkins. We ordered the mimosa tower with strawberry. We had to send the first one back due to the container leaking. However once we got it, it was really good! I went on Saturday night around 9 pm and there was a DJ playing a lot of hood classics like Shawty Lo, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, and there was a lot of Drake that was played amidst the pedophilic rumors circulating around lol. The venue is a little small, and the tables are packed too closely together, making it easy to overhear conversations from neighboring diners. My table was surprisingly wobbly, which was concerning since this is a new establishment. I had to be careful of moving around out of fear that something would fall. Despite this, the food was quite enjoyable; the Spicy Mami cocktail was flavorful, and the Bang Bang Shrimp was served hot with a delicious sauce. I also ordered the BBQ sliders and sweet potato fries. The fries were hot and there were only 2 sliders. There was a lot of meat on each slider, but the inner big back in me wished there was at least one slider on the plate. Our food and drinks did come out relatively quickly. There is also a cute grass wall for a cute photo op! However, there are some notable downsides. I know establishments are busy on Saturday Nights, but the service was disappointing, with our server, Kendra , being inattentive and largely absent during our short visit. I'm not sure if I saw another server around, so she may have had a lot of tables and she's only one person. Additionally, there was a 20% service charge that wasn't disclosed upfront or on the menu, so it is a surprise. I had to re-examine the menu, and it only says "Gratuity and tax not included" on the page for hookah in VERY SMALL PRINT, so bring your magnifying glass. I'm not sure if there is a DJ every night, but I honestly hope that this place will not quickly become known as another hood establishment because the venue is nice. Disappointed by Poor Customer Service, but the Food Was Amazing I visited this lounge and was impressed by the atmosphere and location. However, my experience with customer service was disappointing. When I arrived, the host directed me to the bar to place a to-go order. The bartender, Teena, did not greet or acknowledge me despite me standing in front of her for several minutes. After searching the menu online, I finally asked if I could place an order, to which she quietly responded, "Yeah," without making eye contact. I ordered steak and eggs and asked what kind of steak it was. She responded, "Ribeye," but in such a low tone that I could barely hear her. After paying, I asked how long the order would take. Instead of answering, she held up a finger to silence me while continuing her conversation with a coworker. When I asked again, she finally told me, "20 minutes." Throughout the entire interaction, she seemed disinterested and unwilling to engage. Despite the poor service, I have to say the food was amazing. My steak was cooked exactly how I asked, and everything was delicious. However, I do wish there had been a little more eggs with the steak. Also, the presentation of the shrimp and grits was a little disheartening, but the dish itself was okay. What made this experience even worse was the automatic 20% service charge for a to-go order--especially when the service I received was unfriendly and dismissive. Good food is important, but exceptional service is what keeps people coming back. I hope management takes customer feedback seriously and ensures that employees not only have experience but also the right attitude for hospitality. I literally cannot stop thinking about the wings. I wanted to try the salmon bites because they looked just as good, but I was too full. We only had to wait about 10 minutes before seats became available. We were waited on quickly- mind you it was a packed house.
