This may be the best place to get a burger within walking distance of the theater right nearby. The burger was grilled to have just enough char to taste and was good enough that I could've eaten it on its own without the rest of the trimmings. However, those trimming only improved the burger (though note that the "BBQ burger" just has BBQ sauce on it among other things, and it's just standard sweet sauce). The onion petals were also great and much better than the typical onion rings. The tea was a little off, but it's just as likely that I don't like the way the supplier prepared it as much as The Corner Bar did something. Great service at this very small spot in Ayrsley that overlooks the movie theater. We arrived at dinner time on the way home from food shopping and popped in for a snack. I had a tin of beer, my wife had a mocktail which she said was excellent. Lots of options for non-alcoholic drinks here if that's your preference. A few minutes later, our order of fried cauliflower arrived. A little sticky with a sweet sauce but nice and spicy and very delicious. I'd have this again when I come here next time. I had a nice night at the Corner Bar. I had an old fashioned which was very strong and lacked the dash of sugar needed to balance it out. The Brussel sprouts were probably my favorite thing along with my son's chicken bites and fries. I wanted to love the sirloin kabobs but they were very dry and overcooked. Please review your bill. On Nov 20, I ordered a glass of wine for $13 and a draft beer for $8 at the bar. When I got home, I realized that I had paid over $35. Why is that? The bartender didn't want cash, so I used my credit card. They provided me with a total that included a tip automatically added by the restaurant. Then, they handed me a receipt showing the tip already included in the total, along with a line for an additional tip. I not only tipped generously but also calculated my tip based on the original amount, which already included the bartender's tip. I liked this spot! I work locally in the area and liked their cocktail menu and decided to try it out. I want to note this is not a cocktail bar or a fine dining tavern. This is a dive that knows its regulars and offers good cocktails. The food was good, I got the chili however it wasn't really warm enough. I have found myself a sexy new hang out spot with GREAT FOOD and atmosphere. After running around town and 2 other stops where we waited an hour at each place trying to find a place to eat with all of the staffing shortages, my girlfriend suggested that we go here. And I am so happy that she did. This place is small but Mighty. The menu is small but packed full of flavour. Even though the place was packed to the rafters, the staff and kitchen were fast, efficient and my burger came out cooked perfectly. And the cocktails were on point as well. Bartenders are easy to talk to and informative about drinks on offer. Including new drinks I hadn't seen before. The bar itself is small but has an awesome atmosphere. Apparently they used to play black and white movies on repeat which I hope they can bring back! We stopped here for dinner and the food was delicious. We went here for a drink and a snack before we went to the movies in the area. They have plenty of parking. The staff were friendly. The place is small they had about 10-15 tables in there. It's wasn't busy when we went. It's a nice little spot to grab a beer or drink and chill. Their menu isn't crazy. It's nice for like tenders and other snacks just like bar food to snack on. Nothing beats the Corner Bar's Gouda Fries, they have always been out of this world with crispy waffle fries, warm cheese and bacon pieces. I find the fries pair well with the kabob, mac and cheese and chicken bites. Their drink menu offers a very good variety, their Moscow mule and upside down martini are great. Honestly their whole menu is worth trying! Great drinks, amazing food with a bomb music playlist. Both bartenders are great, overall great atmosphere. read more

I've been making my way through the Yelp Charlotte Top 100 list so we came here for a happy hour. It wasn't crowded when we first got there, but as it got later it got quite a bit more crowded. Our service was great. The waiter was incredibly friendly. The food menu is fairly small. We went with the Corner Bar BBQ Burger and the Fried Southern Chicken Bites. Both were pretty good. I think the burger could have been even better, but we asked for it medium rare and it came medium well. The toppings on it were great. The chicken was a little dry, but the sauce and toppings were good. We also got the Cinnamon Sugar pretzels for dessert which I really liked. They came with a cream cheese frosting that was amazing. A couple of other things I sampled that were good that others ordered: the Bacon Gouda Fries and the Brussels Sprouts. Overall, this is nice bar with elevated bar food. read more

This spot is named just right. Not a lot of frills or fancy plates, but great presentation on several classics. The fried pickles were fried just right and served with house-made ranch. The classic burger has plenty of beef with fresh toppings. Nothing outstanding, but perfectly satisfying. I missed a photo of the southern fried chicken bites, but there are a few in Yelp already. They ARE as good as they look. I also saw beef wraps and the wedge salad delivered and they looked great. The space is a little small, and packed during the dinner rush, but for drinks, beer on tap or some simply satisfying classics it's definitely worth a visit. read more

This is our favorite place to go in Ayrsley! When we lived over there we walked over at least once a week and now we make an effort to go as frequently as possible. We love their drinks, they're very creative and the bartender will give you suggestions based on your interests. We've eaten a few times and we love at the very least grabbing a snack there whether it's the pretzel bites or Gouda cheese fries. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

Glad I didn't go with Five Guys... cause more often than not, lately their burgers have been dry and they're not seasoned. The waffle fries were perfect. Crispy, potatoey. My only gripe.... The smoked Gouda sauce. It certainly wasn't bad, but I expected more of a cheesy flavor. It was more of a bacon bit flavor. The dried up bacony pieces you get from the store. It had somewhat of an odd flavor. I expected more of a cheesy flavor with a hint of swine. Ah well. I enjoyed my food for the most part. Service was great. The friend pickles and the sugar pretzels were definitely winners and really great. For dinner I had one of the burgers with onions and goat cheese, the burger was perfect!
