We came in on an unseasonably chilly May morning nursing a bit of a hangover. Krankies was delightfully warm with plenty of seating. I got the Hangover Cure biscuit, which had eggs, fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy on the side. I also got a hot latte and then topped it off with a cinnamon roll. My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth the add. All in all, I think we spent $40, which feels reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Definitely worth a stop in if you happen to be in the area.

The high wooden bookshelves and designated reading tables give it literary cachet, but The Remedy leans more cozy than stuffy. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and this would be as good a place for a group as it would be for partaking solo. Part coffeeshop and part bar, The Remedy also offers baked goods, flatbreads and charcuterie alongside its coffees, teas, and cocktails. I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. It was prepared quickly, and it made for a smooth sip: not too sweet and no acidity. Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.

I felt like I interrupted the gentlemen's conversation by trying to order and they were not very friendly. The veggie quiche was over $7 and kind of small. I was still hungry. It was good though. I'll add that I did not try the coffee (which apparently is a staple) There are so many OTHER breakfast and coffee spots in the city... I'll just say that.

I got an ube iced latte and then a raspberry and cream cheese danish. Both were absolutely delightful and came out relatively quickly. This is a great place to stop in if you're in the area. If I had the time, it also looked like a good spot to do some teleworking. They have large windows that look out onto downtown, and it lets in a lot of natural light.

The mimosa was light and flavorful without being overpowering. It was a subtle flavor but pleasant. The chocolate was exactly what you'd expect from a chocolate macaron, which was good. It had a rich chocolate flavor but wasn't too heavy. I did walk with it on a warm day, so it began to melt a bit. But overall, it was still enjoyable. My fiancé ordered the ginger cookie. He liked it. It has a crust of sugar on top and had a nice ginger taste. The texture was soft but didn't fall apart easily. The server at the cash register was helpful. We asked what the Santiago dessert was, and he explained thoroughly. He also asked if the macarons could be in the same box instead of assuming. We didn't stay in long enough to get a vibe necessarily, but everyone sitting inside seemed to be at ease and enjoying their time. We will return to try more.

My partner and I were greeted immediately upon arriving inside and were told me could sit anywhere we liked on the patio. We ordered coffees-my dirty chai latte was delicious and my partner was happy with her iced americano as well. Village Tavern was my first pick, but was a 25+ min for a table and we were hungry and in somewhat of a rush. We made our way next door to penny path and I was excited for crepes and maybe even more excited for coffee. I had skipped my usual 2 cups that morning thanks to a rushed airport experience. The iced latte hit the spot. Even my 15 year old stole some sips because she liked it and isn't a coffee drinker (yet). As for the crepes it was ok. I went with the Brie, apple and turkey Brie which is usually an amazing combo but just wasn't doing it for me. I ate about half because I was famished and held off on the rest. My husband polished off his Hawaiian crepe and my daughter did the same with her pizza crepe. Since we were there for lunch we went savory over sweet, but the sweet ones did look good. I'd come back for coffee, but would probably eat elsewhere next time. However it was a very cute cafe in an adorable little center not too far from campus.

I ordered their Carmel toffee crunch latte and my husband ordered their cold brew. The barista explained it's more like an Americano which was perfect for my husband (if you've read my coffee reviews you know my husband drinks his coffee black). Our drinks were made quickly while we looked around and after we received them we took them to go. Both drinks were very well made. Latte wasn't overly sweet and husband said it was a good Americano. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

There are tables for working or having a meeting, as well as more comfortable nooks for some peace. Prices were about average coffee shops in the area, definitely cheaper than a Starbs run. I got my standard iced mocha, regular milk this time, while meeting someone for a meeting. In the time it took me to use the restroom (spotlessly clean) my drink was ready for me. Nice espresso flavor with just enough chocolate and sweetness for balance. I would come back here for another cup when convenient!
