One time, a few friends and I ordered Wingo's delivery for a party at Wisconsin & P--mind you, Wingo's is at Wisconsin & O, just one block away. I'm not sure if this attests for our laziness and reluctance to go out in the rain that day, or if it's an ode to Wingo's' amazing online ordering system. Either way, our food was delivered, and we were happy. I've never ever had a negative experience with Wingo's food. Their wings are great and have a spice range from mild teriyaki to "oh my God my mouth is on FIRE." Their sandwiches are great, and you can make any necessary additions/subtractions to your order through their online system. The spicy fries--mmm I want them NOW. Wingo's is also on GWorld! My only advice to you--don't eat Wingo's if you're planning on doing any sort of physical activity (read: anything more than lifting your remote) immediately after your meal. Oh, Wingos. How you remind me of college. I used to order wingos all the time in college especially after a night out. The food, while so incredibly unhealthy for you, is great and reasonably priced. I would suggest the 10 piece wings. I'm not into anything too spicy so the medium works perfect for me. If you want more of a kick I'd go with the hot or nuclear if you're feeling bold. I've gotten the fries before, but I'm usually too full after the wings to eat them and they do not keep well in the fridge. You can get Old Bay added to the fried, but the last time I requested that, they were absolutely drenched. I also love the jalepeno poppers and mini corn dogs. Mmmmm.....fried things. There was a period in college where I was eating Wingo's weekly. It was awesome. I would order a ton of wings with some of their amazing fries, sit in my dorm room (it was a single) and watch really awful TV all night long. Eventually, this turned me into a filthbucket and I probably came very close to a heart attack. In my case, Wingo's has been what I order when I'm hungry and not much is open. A review of anything I have ever ordered: I have, in the past, usually gone with the Hoya Burger. It has never let me down...until last time. I always order medium rare, but last time it was EXTREMELY rare...and not good. I will never order it again. My former usual order: a cheese, egg and bacon croissant is good, not great. The croissant is always a little soggy. The steak and cheese poppers are just okay. The grilled cheese is really good but then again, it's just a grilled cheese. The fact that this is my new go-to because they have messed everything else up is probably not a good sign. The orange juice is good but...$4?!? I have had some of their sandwiches and again, just okay. My boyfriend always gets the wings, and for the most part, he thinks they're great. Sometimes he thinks they're a bit overcooked. Overall, this is a good late night last resort. The food is good enough. The $3 delivery fee does seem a little excessive though. Hmm...I came on here to review the awfulness of my cheeseburger yesterday and was expecting to see similar reviews. Delivery was super fast -- they came within 20 minutes of making my order. But my burger was semi-warm and kinda hard and gross. Didn't even finish it which is rare as I will eat pretty much anything, much like your family dog. It definitely was not fresh, right out of the freezer and onto the grill or more likely the microwave. Tasted like the burgers you can get at 7-Eleven, except not even as good as that. Anyway, I guess they are known more for drunk food (which I normally love) but I didn't know that. Unfortunately for me I ordered during probably the only two hour window in which I wasn't drunk this weekend. Now that I see people are digging their wings I'll give them one more shot at late night eats before writing them off for good. This place has delicious wings, as well as barbeque ribs, thick juicy hamburgers, corn dogs, beer battered fish, chicken sandwiches and even skewered shrimp. This place can meet and surpass any fat-laden desire. As others have said, they also have their own ice cream, which is very good, but doesn't do so well in the freezer. They even make funnel cakes! Wingos was a college dorm staple, and even now I make them come all the way out to columbia heights when im looking to have my monthly allowance of grease in one sitting (wingos will deliver to most of the NW). A point that might be interesting to some is that wingos also has some decent vegetarian options. One of my friends swears by their veggie burger, and I believe you can ask for the corn dogs to be veggie as well. Funnel cake 365 days of the year!!!!! I am not a huge fan for their wings, but funnel cake!!!!!!!!!!! I usually get a funnel cake to go (either by myself or with one or a couple friends), sit near the river front at Gtown, and enjoy the sweet treat with the great river view... I visited on a Thursday night, 1am, completely sober. The best things about the place? THE WINGS. And the fact that the place is a late night option. The people behind the counter were also very nice. And we were served fairly quickly (within 5 minutes) The wings were doused in an adequate amount of sauce so it was a tidy affair. Yes, there are TWO types of fried cheese on the Munchies section of the menu. They are not similar, neither in shape nor amount of cheesy goodness. :) The spicy fries are pleasingly orange, but not very crisp (nb: I like frites, so take this sentence with a grain of salt and cajun spice). The Veggie burger (which I got with cheddar...AND which I got because one of you Yelpers recommended it) was so bad, I spit it out in to the trash, no lie. I was expecting something like a garden burger. This was a mushy patty which looked a bit like the interior of a falafel but tasted NOTHING like one. It was gross. As are sprouts and cucumber slices on a burger. WTF? Just because I'm vegetarian, you assume I want to be healthy? See: earlier paragraph about fried cheese. Speaking of that cheese, I felt bad for eating the Veggie burger after it, because the nastiness of the mystery "meat" obliterated the pleasant mozzarella/marinara aftertaste I had been enjoying. How can I not give Wingos 5 stars? I literally got wings here once a week for well over a year, and I've been a regular customer for at least 3 years. I can't think of any competitor for delivery wings and subs as Wingos. Sure, if you venture off the beaten path and get crap like "wango tango" you might get a miss, but if you stay with their bread and butter, you can't go wrong. The chicken cheesesteaks are also fabulous. Also, the level of customizability is enough to make any wing aficionado happy, and the staff are happy to mix up sauces, particularly if, say, you've been a regular customer for 3 years. You can also get Old Bay on fries now, and as a Maryland ex-pat this makes me very happy indeed. And the option for the wings to come "wet," i.e. extra sauce, is divine. Their delivery drivers are always prompt, and very rarely have the wings been later than stated on the phone. I think the quickest they ever got me my wings was, amazingly, 14 minutes (G'town to Dupont). I have only two complaints: 1. Not that it was possible to win a free order on their previous website, but I'd like to be able to think that "maybe it'll happen *this* time" once again. 2. They close down for like 3 weeks in August. This is unacceptable, as I am always traveling back from some far flung place in August and when I return am in dire need of my Wingos fix. Ordered Online with Yelp This was the first time I ordered online so I needed to write a review about my experience. I ordered cheese sticks, tuna sandwich, fries and a drink. Yes, I was hungry. lol My food was delivered straight to my job exactly when they said it was going to be, my food looked like it was still warm and everything looked like it was going to taste good. I ate one of the cheese sticks first. Those are a winner-you must try them. Ohh my supervisor liked those mozzarella sticks, too. The fries were ok....but that was because they were not hot and Wingo's delivered them across town in the rain. If they were eaten sooner, they would have been a winner too. The tuna was delicious. Definite winner-must try!!!!! The reason they were given a 3 was because the app allows you to choose your bread. Well it says roll, so I thought I was getting a roll... but no..it was a bun..yes a bun which didn't taste good at all. I will try them again..... maybe...... but umm ......I wish they would have said it was coming on a bun because now I can't eat the sandwich that I paid for. Guess what...I am still hungry. Heard these were the best wings in DC so I really had my hopes up. Wings weren't anything better than just about any bar food menu. Came here twice to pick up: First time - They messed up the order. Second time - I had to wait while the staff fought with each other about a delivery. It get's kind of awkward in the tiny space while everyone else is yelling at each other. For all the heaps of praise for quick service, we could not have been more disappointed when our order of 10 wings took an hour and a half on Sunday. We placed the order online for 20 wings with honey bbq sauce and the original hot. When a woman called to tell us it would be an additional 40 cents to put two flavors on the wing order, we knew it was downhill -- half hour past order time, and the order has clearly not even been put in yet. Oy. When they eventually arrived, we fairly attacked the wings, which are really more like chicken balls. I have some problems with the execution. I ordered fried chicken, wings, jalopeno poppers, orange juice, and grape soda. Now the fried chicken and garlic parmesan wings were good, but they were over cooked. The fried chicken legs were dry! Flavor but dry! NO! The jalapeño poppers were great, as were the fries that came with the fried chicken wings. You can also specify which part of the wing you want in your order. Awesome. I think that this place has a lot of potential but my order came out subpar. Oh yeah, they forgot the orange juice too. I didn't notice this until I was miles away, I had a pick up order. There is absolutely no room to eat inside at this restaurant. There is barely enough room for two people to order food. I ordered from this place with a group after it was recommended to us by a friend of ours, and we were not disappointed. We all got wings with fries and it was amazing! Great flavor and quantity for the price. It is definitely not something that I could have regularly, as the food is fairly heavy, but I'll definitely be going back at some point. My only complaint is that the Old Bay seasoned fries that I got had a LOT of Old Bay seasoning, to the point where it felt like I was eating pure salt and seasoning rather than french fries. However, after shaking off the excess Old Bay seasoning, those fries were amazing. Definitely check this place out. I am REALLY happy that I found this place. I've been looking for a wing place that's delicious and open late near Arlington.... and this is the spot. We walked right up to it and were surprised that it is so tiny that it is literally, IMO, a hole in the wall. That's usually a good sign. They have all the typical sauces ranging from teriyaki, mild, mango habanero, super hot, and many more. We were not disappointed. I've been in love with Wingos since my days as a college freshman. For wings and tenders, this place simply cannot be beat. I'm sure many other people have already spoken to their amazing wings, so I'm going to focus on my usual order: chicken tenders. They are easily the best I've ever had. While tenders are usually drowned in a hard shell of fried batter, Wingo's (relatively large) tenders have a delicate shell of breadcrumbs and crispy batter that screams "home made". Throw in one of their fabulous milk shakes (banana cream pie!), and I cannot imagine a tastier meal. The owner, Mike, is on-hand all the time to answer any questions you have, recommend something if you can't make up your mind, or just generally provide awesome customer service! For those of you who live in Arlington, it's a little-known fact that Wingo's delivers all the way out to Ballston if you order over the phone. If you haven't tried them, just give them a call - you won't regret it!
