We ordered 2 different kinds of boneless wings (Parmesan-Garlic and Mombo) and also a buffalo chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious, but they delivered an order of Hot wings instead of Mombo. No big deal - it happens. I called to tell them and they immediately said they'd send out an order of Mombo wings ASAP. I always feel awkward sending back incorrect food at a restaurant and stuff like that, probably since I worked in the restaurant industry for a couple years, so it was nice that it wasn't a big deal and I appreciate not being questioned like a criminal or something to get the corrected order. Also, the Mombo wings were the best Mombo sauce I've tasted in DC (tastes kind of like a blend of BBQ, soy/terriyaki, and hot sauce or sriracha if you're wondering). I ordered a 5 piece wing. The wait took a bit longer than usual. I was kindly given an extra cup of fries for free. I ordered the lemon-pepper wings. If you aren't feeling up to spicy and sweet, I recommend lemon-pepper. Lemon-pepper is more salty-buttery-acidic. I personally prefer the spicier sweet sauces, but I like that Wingos offers a wide range of spicy and flavor. read more

Wingos is great if you want greasy, American food. Their wings are pretty good, but my favorite is the chicken sandwich with chicken tenders that I get with bacon and cheese. It comes with chips and I'm never disappointed after chowing down one of those. I also like the deep fried raviolis and their ice cream. read more

I absolutely LOVE Wingo's! Not only do they have great comfort food, but their customer service is 2nd to none. A few weeks back, I had an issue with an order and I informed the staff at Wingo's. Not only did they correct the issue, but they followed up with me on my next order to make sure everything was okay. I've been coming here for years and it's always consistent. This is your true blue chicken wing spot. You'd think after all these years they'd slow down but they have been holding it down for the DC natives. Every now and then I'd go to a Buffalo Wild Wings or a Wingstop, just to be disappointed. We ordered from the hotel for delivery ... First off they went to the wrong hotel and called us they were in the lobby needless to say not the hotel we was staying. So my daughter called them back gave them the address again we waited another 20 min .... Driver called back he locked his keys in the vehicle...(really) so my daughter called them back to make sure her food wasn't going to be cold they assured her it wouldn't be .... Well it was disgusting the worse wings and fries she has ever tasted!!! Never ever again!!! Most of the post was due to disgust with the mistake of the wrong hotel. It's hard to find a good wing place in the DMV. I really wanted to love this place, but to me it's a tad above mediocre. Ordered here twice. Once I called ahead 30 minutes and had to wait an extra 15 minutes when I picked it up. The other time the food was ready for me. Their wings are average size but both times were overcooked. Positive: ordered the Nuclear and it was SPICY...like no joke spicy. Negative: it's spicy but not in a tasty way. Also ordered the Hot which was actually bland. Sauces were too watery. We ordered from here due to a living social voucher. The website and voucher said they offered take out or delivery, but when making the purchase through the living social app it didn't give us the option of delivery. We called Wingo's and were told twice that we had to call living social and give them the order who would in turn contact Wingos to place the order. As absurd as this sounded we called living social and they laughed when we told them we were instructed to call them. Since neither party would assist with the seemingly easy to resolve issue we just got refunded for the voucher and ordered through the regular Wingo's website. Wings were decent in size and cost, but the jalepeno lime and mambo wings were just OK. Jalapeno lime sauce tasted like it was made using margarita mix with no jalapeno flavor that was noticeable. Stumbled upon this place while in Georgetown. The menu is huge and was a bit overwhelming at first but we decided to try the burger and chicken sandwich. Both were pretty decently priced for how big the sandwiches were. Our biggest gripe was the bun. They were extremely dry and possibly stale. Could've definitely used a quick toast or heating up. Didn't really read the reviews before trying this place just saw the overall rating. My SO and I were craving wings on a Saturday night at home and were much too lazy to contemplate leaving the house. SO, who went to Georgetown University, suggested Wingos, as it used to be a go-to place for some of his buddies. We ordered buffalo wings and chicken tenders via their website, and it took about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. We are in the Dupont / Logan area, so were expecting it to take a while. The wings were cold, but once we heated them up all was well - wings were decent with tasty, tangy sauce. The chicken tenders were dry and overly breaded - would not recommend. We were also unimpressed by the Ken's packets of ranch and bleu cheese dressing that arrived with our order... Watery and gross. We will order the wings again, albeit with extra sauce. Even though the place is small and has a foul grease odor from all the wings and fries that they prepare non-stop, Wingo's is truely the destination for breaking the diet eating day. The nuclear bbq wings is what you should get. Tasty and obsensly hot. Compliment it with some waffle fries like I did, and you'll be entering the chicken wing god club. Great value. I feel like we got a huge amount of food for the amount we paid for it. I can't really comment on the actual restaurant considering that we ordered delivery to a hotel room, but the server I spoke to over the phone was very nice. The food itself was enjoyable. What a crazy place! Happened upon Wingo's while taking a "day-trip" up to Georgetown from Shaw. We were looking for a snack and boy howdy did we get one! Required a 30-block walk up P Street to work it off. I ordered wings (as is my habit). Solid. Not great. Great is an overused adjective. I got the "abusive" sauce and thought it was just the right spiciness for someone who likes their wings hot but with a traditional wing taste. Blue cheese dressing came in a little packet, with hardly any bits of actual cheese in it, which I found a little disappointing for a place that has wings as a main attraction. C'est la vie. They gave me bonus wings, so that made up for it. Why don't more places do that? It's such an easy way to make the customer happy. The fries on the side were off the hook, very yummy. My walking partner ordered the angus beef chili, and I think she regretted it later. It tasted good and was nice and thick with a unique spice blend. It was really rich, which I think is what led to the tummy complaints later on. Wingo's Revenge! No seating but there were benches outside, and the spot provided wonderful people-watching, with richie-rich G'Town boat people, students, and sketchy scalawags all congregating in front of the restaurant. I believe we may have even seen Aaron Eckhart walk by, but I can't be 100% sure. The presidential charicatures painted on the building were a nice addition. One star just for online ordering. Delivery is usually quick although admittedly I'm often ordering at weird hours and I am literally a 7 minute walk from the location. As for the food, I tend to get the philly cheese steak, which in the past I've found to be pretty tasty. (Disclaimer: I have spent approximately one day in Philly in all of my life and consumed approximately 0 Philly cheese steaks while there.) This past time was less tasty, the bread was stale tasting, either not toasted or undertoasted despite asking for toasted bread (Disclaimer: I have started baking my own bread since I last ordered a Wingos cheese steak. Nothing beats homemade bread. I am a bread snob). Not enough cheese or onions. Wilted lettuce on one half the sandwich. Why is there lettuce on my cheese steak at all? I don't know. They also sent me a mere 2 mustard packets. Barely enough to properly cover one side of the sandwich. Hopefully it's an off day not a sign of poor economic times. But normally it's a lot tastier, I think. Additionally I've ordered milkshakes (really good and thick and delivered straight to your door), nachos (really spicy, not so good if you don't like cheese whiz, but huge portion), cheeseburger (not amazing, but certainly edible), and various fried things (funnel cake! brownie bites! fried dough zeppoli things!). In summation, solid place to eat if you are starving, wanting food delivered with minimal human interaction, craving fried carny food, or wanting a milk shake delivered to your door. So sometimes I am in the mood for wings and with a name like "wingos", I had to give it a try. I have only experienced delivery service from wingos. As a delivery option they are awesome; they are prompt, polite and the food arrives hot. The food itself is nothing too special but they have a wide array of sauces at different spice levels. This is a huge plus because sometimes you want something in between mild and medium! They have a whole bunch of different flavored sauces that anyone is likely to find something to suit their taste. The chicken wings themselves though are not the best quality. They seem like they are of the frozen variety and have lots of fatty parts to them. I will say they are the best wings I have had in DC. In reality though that's not saying very much. Perhaps living in NYC for two years spoiled me and now I expect a little something more when I order wings. read more

OK... Given that there aren't too many places for an easy bite to eat that deliver. The wings, surprisingly, are not that good. From several experiences from large to personal orders the wings are overcooked and crunchy not allowing much meat. Sauced- they seem to be quickly dipped. Better off unsauced. Sandwiches are ok. The steak and cheese would be at the top of the list if I had to pick again. Shrimp madness is good. The prices have gone up to the point where they haven't been worth ordering (the tenders are ridiculous and sometimes comes so overcooked my coworkers toss them). Delivery fee + tip on food that I barely enjoy is not worth it. The best value they used to have was the leg/drum combo that I ordered religiously because it was so darn good with corn on the cob and Sweet Baby Rae's. Now, that's been gone for quite some time. Wingos is donating to Washington DC's Friends of St. Jude....and since I am a member...I decided try them out. Their online menu can be overwhelming, and I had no clue where to start. Therefore I ordered based on recommendations of other yelpers. I started with the Fried Mozzarella sticks...and they were pretty deli styled fried sticks. Next time I will try the "Fried Mozzarella" as another yelper raved about that one. Next I cannot say enough good things about the WET Parm/garlic wings. We received our wings, and "OH WOW" was the first thing out of my fiance's mouth. He was sold. We also ordered Hot, but that nothing could compare to the parm/garlic. I am not a funnel cake fan, but I order it bc of other yelpers. My fiance LOVED it. We ordered it with powder sugar and strawberry sauce...really was a delicious desert. They orginally made a mistake on our order, but was back within 10 minutes with fresh wings. Definitely recommend, but like others have said...nothing is healthy on this menu :) read more

I'm from Western NY so I know good wings. You could walk past this gem without even noticing it. It has just enough room for you to walk in and order food. There is a few options for seating outside. I ordered the mombo and garlic parmesan wings, chili cheese fries, jalepeno poppers, and funnel cake. First of all, the portion size was huge. Medium fries was huge. I wouldn't have been able to finish it even I order it by itself. Secondly, the parmesan coating on the wings was generous and amazingly good. The funnel cake was per usual that you could get at a fair. Overall great and highly recommended. read more

If you want to take a nap, order one of their (kinda overpriced) shakes, consume approximately 1/4 of it and...before you know it you will be asleep. I have no idea how anyone drinks an entire one of these. I have a coworker who always orders TWO. Unbelievable. You can order a giant cup of fruit. It costs too much. But it's kinda fun. I usually just order grilled cheese. But ask them not to wrap it in foil for delivery, it gets it all soggy. But, seriously, those shakes. It's like a meal and a Xanax. read more

So they have a new location... this one is being repaired. We now have been to both locations. Wingo's Glover Park (2218 Wisconsin Ave) is the new one. Its a really cute sit down restaurant. They have happy hour specials thru the week. Wednesday is ladies night $2 wine. I cannot wait to go back. Wings are always on point, my favorite is Lemon pepper and Mumbo sauce. We tried the hotdogs tonight, yummy. Come check out the new location. The owner and staff are great. I have never had a bad experience. OH and they are open late. read more

I ate here 10-15 times between 2009 and 2016. All I remember is "mediocre wings, horrible service." There isn't much competition serving wings in the area, which explains the above average reviews, but don't be fooled, their customer service and (at least their middle) management seemed to be pretty incompetent multiple times. The delivery guy didn't show up until 8:10, after we called the place twice. My burger was supposed to have A1 - but nope - no sauce at all. And it was over cooked. NOT happy with this place. The BBQ wings are small but very tasty!! The menu upon the cashier is not the full menu(and not showing the price), but you can get a paper menu beside the door. There is no sitting place inside so be prepared to wait outside for 5-10min. read more

They sent me new wings when I messed up an order. I had ordered with them a number of times, always incredibly delicious, but without the kind of effort from them that was required. I messed up, and ordered wing sauce that was just too hot (btw, they pitch it hot, if you want it). I like suicidal, and ordered nuclear, just because I had a tough time making moral sense of these two situations in the heat of an online order.
