So they have a new location... this one is being repaired. We now have been to both locations. Wingo's Glover Park (2218 Wisconsin Ave) is the new one. Its a really cute sit down restaurant. They have happy hour specials thru the week. Wednesday is ladies night $2 wine. I cannot wait to go back. Wings are always on point, my favorite is Lemon pepper and Mumbo sauce. We tried the hotdogs tonight, yummy. Come check out the new location. The owner and staff are great. I have never had a bad experience. OH and they are open late. read more

I ate here 10-15 times between 2009 and 2016. All I remember is "mediocre wings, horrible service." There isn't much competition serving wings in the area, which explains the above average reviews, but don't be fooled, their customer service and (at least their middle) management seemed to be pretty incompetent multiple times. The wings have always been good so I thought I'd try the burger and fries combo. Not so much: I asked for regular and got seasoned fries but the major problem was the burger. These wings were bad. They were overcooked. Crunchy like a potato chip. The fries were cold. Never again. Not understanding five star reviews. UPDATE: I received a call from the owner himself apologizing for my negative experience. He was very kind, genuine, and apologetic. He explained the situation, did not make excuses, and provided me with a credit in the amount of money I had spent on the food that evening to be used at any point in the future. Don't care for the itty bitty spot, the stomachache, the long wait, outside seating only.

We ordered delivery to our hotel which was about 2miles away. The delivery got here very quickly and the food was actually hot enough still that we needed to let it cool down! There were so many options on the menu it was hard to choose. Their side salads are awesome and actually a really decent size. I got their wings and they were great. My wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich and said it was very good as well. If you are on the fences about trying it do so, you won't be disappointed. read more

Best wings you can find in DC/Northern VA. Hands Down! I discovered them 2 years ago and nothing about them is negative. Even the small size is not a negative because hanging out on the streets of DC is well worth it when you are waiting on wingos. The sauce choices are extensive and the fries are amazing. Wow oh wow the customer service here was just fantastic but the wings ? EVEN BETTER. We got lemon pepper wings , honey bbq and seasoned fries as well as normal regular fries , the wings were incredible I mean you bit into the lemon pepper and instantly the juices from the chicken made crave more of them until the wings ran out .. the regular fries weren't good :/ however the seasoned fries made up for it ! okay so i just ordered garlic parmesan wings, cheese sticks and a funnel cake and i wasn't really stratified with any part of my order. The cheese sticks tasted as if they were originally frozen and then heated up, the garlic parmesan chickens was really oily but the funnel cake was okay. You would think a place called Wingo would offer decent wings. I ordered the mombo and hot garlic flavor. They were both dry and tasteless. The hot garlic was neither spicy nor did it have any garlic flavor. I think they may have given me the wrong coating. The mombo was pretty bland, it tasted like they used watered down Red's hot sauce, no flavor. Thought the wings at this place would be awesome based on the reviews... and we were pretty disappointed with the food and service. We got delivery - it took over an hour. We live a mile and a half away. The hot BBQ is not good, they just dump BBQ and hot sauce on it, not mixed together. And the hot sauce isn't hot, at all. These wings helped the Washington Capitals win the Stanley Cup. That might sound a little dramatic but I assure you it's true. Our house has a tradition of ordering the Wingo's boneless mombo wings for every Caps playoff game. We ordered these same wings a record number of times during the 2018 playoff run and the facts speak for themselves; The Caps are Stanley Cup champions and I never even came close to getting sick of these wings which is honestly remarkable. I'm unfamiliar with the eats in this neighborhood and wanted something cheap and simple. Glad I chose Wingo's. Let me start off by saying that it's smaller than a closet. You walk in and you're already too close to the register. You're nervous -- they blindsided you. "How can I help you?" SHIT, I need a minute. Let me get a menu and regroup. So I do and choose the honey-dipped chicken sandwich... Daggers! I dun goofed, I was sure. The place is named WINGo's and I order a sandwich. Rookie move. Let me tell you, it was NOT a rookie move. That sandwich was so good I would take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant. The breading was on point and there was more chicken than should be permitted if their business plan is to turn a profit. There was a little too much bun but when is too much food a complaint at a chicken joint? Just break some off and feed it to your bird homies. I forgot to mention that I ordered mashed potatoes too. This is the defining moment because lightning often doesn't strike twice. Nah, friends. Money. Like Bob Ross would say, stumbling on Wingo's was a happy little accident. 11/10 -- would come back to actually try the wings. read more

UPDATE: Mike, the owner, called me the same night that I posted my original review. He apologized and said it was unacceptable and credited the full amount of my order (plus tip) to my online account and asked for the chance to make it right. I ordered again yesterday and they arrived in under 40 minutes, were the quality that I remembered and loved and they even threw in a couple of extra wings. Mike called about 20 minutes after they arrived to follow up and make sure everything was good. 4 stars! A super fast/casual takeout only spot (has a few tables/chairs outside) that serves delicious wings with sauces expanding across the entire spiciness spectrum (24 different types!). The service is even better - when we stopped by right before they closed on a weekday, they suggested wings with Mombo sauce and offered us to replace them with wings with one of the sauces that we originally wanted (spicy garlic) with no extra charge if we didn't like their recommendation! So we got 10 wings (half with Mombo sauce and half with medium sauce) and enjoyed every single bite! I'm working in DC and needed someplace close that delivered. Went on G-Hub and found Wingo's. I was in the mood for some hot wings and that's EXACTLY what I got: THE HOTTEST DAMM WINGS!!! I ordered the 6-piece WingPack (6 wings, fries, and a drink for $10.99). That's relatively cheap for The City. My order was delivered in about 35 minutes, wayyyy less than the 55-60 minute time frame given. When I opened the container I inhaled trying to get a whiff of what to expect. What I got was 2 nostrils of singed nose hairs! I grabbed my first wing and took a bite: Now I know how it feels to touch my lips to lit stove. This this was EN FUEGOOOOOO! I had to pause and sip my drink. Wings #2-4 were a repeat of #1. The only reason I continued to eat them was because by now the lining of my throat no longer exists. I had to sip my drink because the closest water fountain was on the OTHER side of a secure facility I had no access to. The last 2 wings went down better but only because I wussed out and drowned them in blue cheese dressing. As I type this, I'm contemplating scarring for life this lady cleaning the building by removing every, and I mean every, stitch of clothing I have on just so I can lie down on that clean, cool floor until my face heals. We were looking for a local wing experience and found this place on Yelp, so we decided to try them out. It's located in a cute, quaint area near Georgetown. Parking is on the street. It's a walk up wing spot that has everything from wings to salads. We ordered the hot wings, lemon pepper wings, turkey burger, and grilled chicken garden salad. The lemon pepper wings were my fav. By far the best wings in D.C., I tried wings all over D.C. and wingos is the best. They have all different flavors from mild to suicide. If you ask, they even make them hotter.
