For years I was using a local limo service to get from San Ramon to the airport. When I started, they charged $115 per one-way ride. Over the years I used them, the price went up to $135-$140 per one-way ride. I searched on Nextdoor to see what my neighbors were using to get to the airport and many of them recommended Wingz. It's under $100 from San Ramon to SFO, so I thought it was worth a try. It's incredibly easy to book online or with their mobile app. I have seen a few Yelpers saying they booked and nobody showed up to pick them up. I just don't see how this is possible other than user error. Each time I have booked a ride, I have received an email notice and a mobile device alert from Wingz about who my driver is and what time they will be there to pick me up. I also received a text from my driver introducing himself and confirming the time. On the morning of my pickup, the driver has always sent me a text to tell me he is outside, usually 15 minutes earlier than my pick up time. I find the app easy-to-use, the price is fair, the driver very professional and the service very reliable. I have now used Wingz 3 times and will continue to use them. Note about my driver: Since I have been using Wingz, I've had the same driver, Christopher, each time. He is great at communicating with me over text, very professional, a joy to have a conversation with during the ride and also a very safe driver. New Years Eve 11pm pick up Sac airport cold dark and windy. Driver contacted me with confirmation and directions where to meet him at the airport. He kept track of my flight to know if I was delayed. When he pulled up he had a heated car and seat, opened my door and loaded my heavy suitcase. We chatted on my 50+ mile ride home. I came home and fell into bed and asleep before he was home. Used to be a big fan and loved the service. Recently experienced every traveler's pick up nightmare. I reserved the Wingz ride scheduled for 4 am in the wee hours of the morning to begin an international vacation several days before pick up , and received confirmation of driver available as usual. No one ever reached out to let me know the driver in fact was not picking me up as scheduled. It was I who called to confirm at 10 PM the night before just before planned bedtime only to be advised they would try to reach the driver. I was only then informed the driver was not available. At 11:30pm I was still up frantically waiting to hear from Wingz about a replacement forced to wait up while they searched for another and finally told could not find one. It is stressful enough to prepare to an international trip and to receive this news at the last minute ...very stressful to say the least and had to take a pretty awful and expensive taxi service at the last minute..forget getting any sleep. Oh and they claim the driver must be a good driver or he would not be used by Wingz. Wingz was neither apologetic nor did they offer any compensation such as a free ride credit, etc. Only a robotic email...sorry but feel free to contact us again if you need us. Incredulously I received an email blast while on vacation titled "stress free travel." What a misnomer. Sorry to say I would recommend to stay far away from this company. What's with all the Poor reviews, I've used this service at least a half a dozen times, Driver texts me for confirmation, shows up at the date schedule, I've even had a few show up 15 minutes early, I can select my own driver, actually one driver told me they do a few back ground checks each year....not sure how some of my most recent Uber drivers even passed a background check, anyway I book a few days in advance, since it's more like a shuttle service and not a ride share be there in 15 minutes type of Business, that might be a problem a few of you are having, they might just run out of drivers at peak times, it's half the cost of a car service, I don't know but I'm going to continue to use them.I see no reason not to Stan read more

Wingz sucks. I used to like it but now Lyft is my go to for the airport. I'd even choose Uber before Wingz. Drivers have no showed more than once. Most recently I had a driver bail because he had another ride despite my booking! I move asked them to delete my account but they refuse to which is weird and scammy. Wingz is a fantastic, new option that I am so happy to see in Seattle! The first time I used Wingz was on my way to SFO and our driver, Inder, was fantastic. Not only was he right on time, he knew all the back roads within the city to make sure we made it to the airport with time to spare! Since my first experience, all of my drivers since have been so easy to work with. Each have always been on time, incredibly knowledgeable of the city/back roads and even offer great topics of discussion on our drive - with an emphasis on travel! I really like being able to request the same driver - mainly because of how reliable they are and also so we can pick up where we left off talking about travel adventures! I appreciate the level of service and attentiveness each driver brings to my airport commute. Definitely a step above the rest! read more

Use wingz just for taking me to SJC. fabulous driver first time, then had a driver that really puts the spotlight on rideshare companies and why most people are hesitant to use them. This particular drive had "I resist" stickers all over the van. Doesn't necessarily bother me, but sets the tone of a possible aggressive personality. Music from ipod was blasting when I got into my seat. Began to pull away and driver engaged with Uber driver directly in front. Uber driver was loading luggage of other couple, my driver found fault with that and back and forth occured, several minutes later my driver still complaining about uber driver. Just had to back up and go around.. I'm not a PC person so I kind of was giggling and understood where my driver was coming from. But at the same time, I work very hard for my money and the professionalism was off the charts by this point. During ride my driver emphasized how he was at home and took my ride for something to do several times, putting pressure on for large tip. My husband works several rideshares not something he would do, come out for one call or beg for a tip midway through ride. Ride otherwise uneventful, i live 10 minutes from airport, made it home. Wrote review in Wingz, said "not cool" about I resist, and gave him 4 stars. He texted me within four days and said: Carolyn, Very sorry you were offended by my political preference. My car, I can display whatever I like on my car. I assume that's why you stiffed me on The tip. Basically ..i will avoid your ride if you request one again. Extremely inappropriate! Contacted Wingz and cut, pasted message into email. They called said everyone in office read email, it is not appropriate, couldn't believe he would do that. Promised full refund and said it's not representative of Wingz. I will call person back and offer more details if needed. I'm not trying to mess with anyone's livelihood, etc. Although he did say he's retired and drives for fun. I just wanted to be treated with respect and given a nice ride home after flying for 6 hrs and having an exhausting trip to see my mom that has dementia. Makes me sad that someone was trying to poach me, and saw me a stupid with deep pockets. I'd rather pay the shuttle van or a taxi to get the level of service that most expect. I scheduled in advance my very first ride from Moss Beach to SFO early on January 22, 2020 only to find a text message on my phone when I woke up stating they could not find a driver. My flight left at 6:00 AM and I could not get there in time. My change fee was $75 and I couldn't rebook until later in the afternoon. Wingz is dishonest in promoting themselves as a reliable choice and peace of mind when you have to be at the airport. DO NOT use Wingz if you need to be at the airport early. read more

We have used Wingz a few times for airport service, it was excellent, until recently, when we recommended it to several others, with really terrible results. In one case, the driver waited until he was already 15 minutes late to contact the customer and say that he would be very late, so that our friend had to scramble to get himself to the airport on time AND pay a big fee for long-term parking. Today, our daughter's 4am ride never showed, never texted, and was completely unreachable by phone, so we had to drive her to the airport. This degree of unreliability is inexcusable. We are embarrassed to have recommended Wingz! I see, from other comments, that no-shows and cancelled rides are quite common with Wingz. Dependable airport transportation is really the only reason to choose Wingz over other alternatives. Consequently, we do not plan to use Wingz in the future. read more

I booked a transport from the airport to our hotel in Seattle, WA one week prior to our arrival in Seattle. While I was in route, which means that my phone was on Airplane mode most of the day, Wingz notified me that they did not have a driver available for my booked ride. Since my phone was in Airplane mode, I did not receive the message until we landed in Seattle. At that point we had a major problem finding a shuttle to our hotel. I contacted Wingz and was told they would try to find an Uber but with 4 passengers and luggage it might be difficult and they could not estimate cost. Needless to say we were more than frustrated with this company. We finally found an available shuttle with another company that was actually cheaper. I booked the ride in advance to avoid any needless delays. What a farce. We will never attempt to use Wingz again. read more

I ordered a service on May 23rd and the driver did not show up! I needed to get to the San Jose Airport at 3:30 am to catch a flight. I had to call Uber which charged less (Wingz charged $70) and actually showed up and got me there on time. Now Wingz is charging my credit card $70 for a service I never received. They give poor service and overcharge! I will not be using this company's service again. read more

I've taken Wingz a number of times to the airport. There are pros and cons but bottom line, these guys are ripe for a competitor to wipe them out because their service varies widely. While they've got their pricing figured out now, their quality and customer service wavers. Pros: -I can schedule a pick-up days prior to my airport departure so I don't have to worry about when to request an Uber/Wingz while scrambling to get ready for my flight -For the most part, my drivers have been on-time, polite, and had clean cars -Wingz recently dropped their prices so they are now priced competitively to Uber Cons: -The quality of your ride depends on your driver. I had one go-to driver, Manju, that I used to book direct with. One day, she stopped responding to my requests with no explanation. I hope she's ok but it was strange. I had another driver who showed up 30 minutes late and tried to fight with me the entire ride. It was very uncomfortable. The other three drivers have been good. -Since the app updated, I don't get automatic receipts from the company. There is no way to access my receipts from the app or website (strange). I emailed them to get my receipt to provide to my company for reimbursement. Four days later, I got the ride confirmation with the price on it, no receipt, and no apology for the long reply time and also, no resolution to my challenge with not getting automatic receipts -I have no way to call to talk to a live representative to resolve my issues. This has put me in a pickle a couple of times- when my driver was 30 minutes late and I couldn't contact Wingz and also, when I wasn't able to get a receipt or a reply to my messages. I don't think these guys are ready for prime time. I had a 6:30am flight out of San Jose and I was nervous that you could not schedule uber in advance so I thought I would give Wingz a shot as their claim is that you can schedule their drivers in advance. Wrong. I tried twice and no drivers were interested in picking up at 4:45am on a Sunday morning. So I wasted time and effort signing up for a useless service. Will stick with Uber for now. I took the risk and had no problems getting an Uber driver Sunday morning. I ordered one at 4:30am, and he showed up within 5 minutes of my order on Easter Sunday! read more

I like that you can book in advance. When traveling with kids or for a very early morning departure, you don't want to be left in the lurch or waiting any more than necessary. I love that they service Castro Valley. And I love that I don't have to pay for parking or drive or make a bunch of stops before getting to my house. Door to door, someone else drives. Used it 3 times, they even picked us up in San Mateo at 4:30 AM on a Monday morning. It's not "on-demand" nor a taxi service, so if you know you're going to or from the airport, book as much in advance as possible so as to give the drivers enough time to accept your request. At around midnight the night before our flight, I get an email saying "no drivers available, reservation has been cancelled"!!! WTFuck??? We're in W Marin so not a lot of options. Very bad experience with this service, pick up at my house was fine. My plane arrived early from the airport and I tried to reach the driver 3 times, I could not reach him, so I cancelled to ensure I wouldn't be waiting at the airport for 45 minutes. Wingz charged me $28 for the cancellation and told me the driver felt unsafe to answer the phone and he was right around the airport. When I finally spoke to the driver he never said, I am 5 minutes away, be there in 10 minutes...nothing. Sorry, isn't it a drivers responsibility to have a hands-free device to answer the phone and if he was really by the airport, wouldn't he have said that? Also, for anyone who travels frequently on business, you know car pick ups are a problem, I thought Wingz might be a solution, but very unhappy with the way this was handled. It actually cost me $70 with the additional cost of a taxi plus the fee from Wingz. When I have had issues with Uber rides in the past, they have remedied the problems quickly, Wingz took the drivers side over the passenger, I am glad they are standing up for their drivers, but passengers will likely need a voice for this service to be successful. read more

November 5, 2017 AVOID this Wingz "car service" that will not show up; shows 12 hrs late, then charges you; stonewalls your explanations/logic; and obfuscates to withhold just remedy. 1. First experience in June, Downtown to Seattle airport [SeaTac]. Satisfactory. Tipped $5 for $39 fare. [Yellow Cab is $40] 2. WHO ARE YOU? Subsequent experience: Expected pickup from SeaTac in August, so placed cell call to driver immediately upon landing 1120, for reserved ride at 1145. He is surprised; said is starting out to a destination/rider 30 plus miles away. No explanation, no ride - you are on your own. 3. PANIC sets in. I was away for medical reasons; my flip phone was not yet set for US use; I was awaiting Wheelchair Assistance from aircraft. No ride, no independence, no phone, no strength, with panic - I am Disabled Veteran, 71, with Cancer, Congestive Heart Failure, Spinal Fractures. 4. Luckily Wheelchair Transporter and I find Seattle Executive Limousine [$50] on Level 3. 5. UNBELIEVABLE: Wingz later says that at SeaTac at Midnight, a ride was awaiting me, i.e., "Leave your home, go back to SeaTac, so our driver can take you home". And they said I owe them for this Cinderella/Paul Revere "ride". Is that tin-pot, bush league, high-school... or all three? That they thought I really owed them and demanded the payment was silly enough, but that all my explanations - i.e., that that very driver knew I landed 12 hours earlier in the day - were just ignored. 6. THEIR PROCEDURE: They take weeks to answer your emails, dump on your logic, and act like their mentors have left the building. You explain cogently, patiently, even in bullet points, how ridiculous their interpretations and intentions are, present reasonable proposals for remedy to draw line under this cock up - to even enable me to come back fresh as a paying customer, and it is like talking to elementary schoolers. 7. Clicking to their links called "Marketing", Partnerships" and "Other" did no good either - causing wonderment about whether any adults are present. 8. There is no Seattle office. The website does not have a postal address. ANY SUPERVISION THERE? There does not seem to be an adult who would reflect: "you accurately described how we messed you about; we have made you spar with us in emails for two months; you suggested the reasonable remedy of simply the $50 you had to pay to Seattle Executive Limousine; you evoked a reconsideration to give us another chance when you travel to/from SeaTac mid-November to early December - why the heck was this not attended to long ago by "Support Team"! BUYER BEWARE. Can you, your loved ones, your medical conditions, social life, or career tolerate being left in the cold, miles from your intended destination; and do you have weeks/months to devote to pursuing natural justice while being treated like a child? Continue with however you are commuting to SeaTac or Pier 91. Avoid this unprofessional group gone very badly wrong. read more

I still use WIngz every time I go to the airport, and I love it! Best airport ride system I have used. I like the improvements to the app, it keeps getting better. This used to be a great option for rides to/from SFO airport, but after my last several negative experiences I am sad to say that that is no longer the case. The only advantage of using Wingz, is that you can book a ride in advance. However, the last time I tried to book a ride several days in advance, I was informed one day prior to my trip that no driver was available. I ended up calling an Uber, and discovered that it was actually cheaper. I have since then used Uber many times for my trips between San Francisco and SFO, and the price was consistently cheaper than Wingz. That is especially true since the Wingz driver/app will ask for a tip after the ride. I have also found that Uber will generally have rides available within minutes, so there was no need to book a ride in advance. Sorry to say- but no more Wingz for me. read more

Decided to try Wingz to get to the airport. Used my promo code, scheduled my ride and at 2:18am the morning of my flight I get an email that my ride has been cancelled there are no drivers available. That's great since I didn't see that email until 6am. Waiting on my Lyft. Hopefully this works out. Sorry Wingz, not a good impression. I will be very reluctant to trust this in the future. Unfortunately a lot of people rely on a service like this and it needs to be reliable. If a ride is cancelled a notification other than an email in the middle of the morning prior to leaving would be very helpful. An automated phone call or text or something. read more

Used Wingz to get to SFO. I'm not overly fond of surprises when it comes to taxis and therefore loved the flat rate pricing. The driver arrived on time and the Lincoln Navigator she was driving was pretty fabulous, it could have fitted 5-6 ppl and almost as many baggages. Top notch. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND CHOOSE TRANPORT ELSEWHERE Hello, this was my first time booking with WINGZ, and I experienced horrible customer service all the way through my experience with WINGZ. If I could put the rating at a -5 I would. I paid for a round trip transport to the airport and back. I originally received a ride to the airport from Jeff who showed up half an hour late, complaining about how he got lost. Then on the last day of my vacation, I get a call on 4/10 from Wingz that my return driver is at the airport, when I scheduled it for my arrival on 4/11 at coming in at midnight. Wingz website adds an additional 30 minutes to your arrival time (which would be 12:30am on 4/12 that my driver would be there). On 4/10 I called their number 1888-982-9716 4x's and was only able to leave a message because unlike their website advertises, it is not a 24 hour service. NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. I also wrote an email. I then called in the morning again on 4/11 and got Heather. Heather began explaining away my concerns, talking over me, talking about how they are under staffed (as to why no one answered the phone during my 4 attempts). She then stated that the calendar problem on their website is a glitch, and unfortunately, even though I already paid for a return transport from the airport to home, I would have to pay again for a one way trip because their driver was there. I asked Heather to speak to a Supervisor, she then claimed that they were all in a meeting and would return my call. NO ONE EVER RETURNED MY CALL, and I HAD TO PAY FOR A CAB TO GET HOME because WINGZ was not there. I WILL NEVER USE WINGZ OR RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYTHING. THE ONLY THING THEY SEEM TO BE AVAILABLE FOR IS TAKING YOUR MONEY AND NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE. Jen read more

I was flying to Austin and Wingz was recommended to me by the hotel where I was staying. I scheduled a ride into town from the airport and was given the photo of the driver and the license plate / model of his car. When the driver pulled up he looked different and had glasses on. The car and license was different. He demanded that I get in the car to talk about it. I called the business and they claimed that he must be driving a different vehicle and not to worry about it. I told them I would take a cab. As a solo woman traveller I didn't think this was a good business practice. I emailed the owner when I got home but was still charged for the ride. The Wingz operational model is very convenient for the client. Scheduling ahead and being connected to ones driver in order to work out the details is great. Problem is that some drivers are not reliable. We suffered the stress and anxiety of having a no-show driver that could not be reached by phone by either us or a Wingz representative. Of course no other driver was available. We really had to scramble at 6 am to find alternative transportation, which turned out to be very expensive. Wingz gave us partial financial compensation for the alternative but full compensation is "not its policy." Wingz needs to have fairly severe negative consequences for unreliable drivers. Undoubtedly, the cost would need to be higher for reliable service but reliability is absolutely essential. I have noticed numerous other reviews of clients suffering similar and other difficulties with Wingz drivers. read more

My first experience was Wingz was amazing, but the last two have been the pits. One time, they couldn't find a driver from SF to SFO, but let me know right away. This very morning, after promising via email that I was all set, they were a no-show. I didn't get their "oh, sorry" email until I checked this morning at 5:00 A.M.! We were fully expecting to meet our car at 5:15 in Sausalito to go to SFO, but once again, screwed! If Wingz can't entice enough drivers to start to compete in this market, they should get the sorry-ass executives to show up in their cars to make it happen! Or send a competitors town car! I found Wingz and was really excited about how easy and convenient it is to book rides for others. They were consistently early and texted me to let me know when passengers made it safe. However; since I'm booking for corporate reasons and need to submit expense reports there are virtually no receipts being sent. I've reached out via email customer service and called with no response. If providing receipts for reimbursement is something you need then I would stick with Uber or Lyft since you have a much better record. read more
