This Winn-Dixie is ok, it is very clean and well kept; but it has a few problems. While the parking lot is spacious and there is plenty of parking it is hard as heck to take a left out of the parking lot back and to get back on Old St. Augustine going south. You either have to pull out and do a U-turn at the light or try to take a left onto the other road to get to the red light. But if you are heading back to San Jose I guess it's ok. The store is clean inside and it's never really crowded. Most people are across the street at the competitor's store. Prices are high here. They make Publix look cheap. But if you look around they do have some BOGO items that don't hurt the wallet too bad. Service has been friendly, but they are not Publix. read more

My Yelp Friend, Mr. Bradsky told me about the chicken wings in the Deli was on sale sale. Stuff the box full for a small amount of money. I chose about four different flavors. The store was nice and clean. The weird thing was all Of the employees and Managers were buzzing around in the front of the store and outside too. Two people ran out without paying for their groceries. It's ashamed people steal like that. Needless to say, they got away. I do appreciate how everyone pulled together as a team, when something bad is going on. If you See something, say something if you ever see something suspicious! After coming from church, I stopped at the Winn Dixie for the bucket of wings. Around 11, the wings are exceptional and in abundance. In the words of the Winn Dixie commercial, "It a win! Win However, I must put Winn Dixie on blast for the BoGo watermelon that lack the usually redness. The watermelon was not appealing at all. I got 2 bottles of OJ instead. My wife likes this Winn Dixie. I like the one on University Blvd or the newest on San Jose Blvd. It was a win and a loss! read more

Nothing grand about this Winn-Dixie. I can see they try to change the colors but I think they need to change the lighting. I always think the lighting is always "dimmer" and almost everything reflects this brown-yellow reflection. I guess maybe it's my eyes, but I always encounter this when I come to this Winn-Dixie. I mostly buy their brand sodas and hot chicken wings. They always have a good deal on their brand sodas and always buy for the family as they are big soda consumers (I no longer drink soda as it causes sharp pains in my abdomen and headaches). So, I buy soda for the family and I usually come across 4 for $11, 5 for $10 or $5 for $11 which is a good deal than the leading named brand sodas. Sometimes, the leading brand sodas are lower cost than the generics, but that's once in a while. I really like their chicken wing bucket fill with a whole variety of different flavors. Ranch, Buffalo hot, crispy, salt & vinegar, BBQ, etc. Very delicious and you have to come in at the right time when they are fresh. Mostly close to lunch or two hours before they stop cooking more (obviously). Good size wings. I always get the bucket because you can fit maybe about 25-30 wings in there (depending how you position your wings). read more

Winn Dixie is probably one of the oldest grocery stores in Fl. This one is one of the older one, too but it is convenient for us so we shop here at times. Management is always helpful and polite. The cashier seem to be trying to be friendly. Usually I can find what I am looking for here so no... no fresh sushi or gourmet coffee brewed for you as you wait and you can not get a glass of wine...but I don't necessarily need that when I am just getting some things to finish a meal! read more

Well I went to the Wynn Dixie store to visit their delicatessen. Just outstanding. Filled a 9 dollar bucket with barbecued tips and chicken wings .Will be enough for a few meals. I wanted to celebrate Memorial Day in remembrance of those that gave their all and did not return home as they had left. The holiday is not a celebration for our hero's that protected the second amendment,that protects the first amendment. The thousands that died on the beaches of Normandy, the Bataan death march all but forgotten by a few of us. Today it is sad for those that gave there all. What do we have. We have Democrats that cannot think how good America is today as to what it could be if those that went and died did not go. Today all the democrats can think of is how to hate Trump. Not what Obama did too this country and what Biden would do. They do not think for the good of America only there hate and jealousy of Trump. What a shame so many hero's gave there all that we should have what we have. GOD Help us if the Democrats should win any thing at at all. And the Muslims gain power. read more

They need to remove those large Chocolate Chip cookies from the counters at the cashier check-out lanes. Space is already limited without the clutter. Cookies belong in the bakery department. Also, never enough lanes open. Cashiers double as "baggers" for other cashiers when they should be at their cash registers so people can pay and leave promptly instead of having to stand in line and wait. Customer Service counter understaffed. Sometimes nobody is there. Generally, Publix is better! read more

Oh Winn Dixie! How I avoid thee, your aisles look clean but I've just been deceived! This place is your typical grocery store, but what bothers me is when you walk around and see the discount stickers on items and you think you just found a deal but you better inspect what you just found because most of the time it's already out of date or completely rotten. They get two stars for their bakery and even then that stuff looks questionable at times. And another star for the convenient little Caesars and red box next to them. Some Winn Dixie's are okay but this one is just hiding their filth behind discount stickers. read more

I come here for the savings and fuel parks. They have really good sales and it's like magic when you give the cashier your rewards card to see how much you saved. On this visit my bill went from $199 to $135. Which is awesome in my eyes read more

I have been going to this winn Dixie for years and never had such a bad experience, the cashier scanned a pack of chicken and threw it on the rest of the groceries and got chicken water all over everything. After getting chicken water everywhere, she proceeded to spray chemicals all over the food and the fresh vegetables, I'm now at home washing all my food off. The management have gone so down hill, I don't blame the cashier I blame the management team. I have some advice for them, TEACH YOUR CASHIERS HOW TO HANDLE FOOD SITUATIONS. read more

I need to go into this stating, admitting, confessing that I am a grocery store snob. Therefore, I grade grocery stores really hard. That being said, Winn-Dixie is an odd place... PROS: The produce is good. Their produce is better than Publix by far. It is fresher and I've yet to get a bad avocado from them. CONS: 1. Allegedly, they lowered their prices. That must've been for all of 6 months because no matter how much I try, I come out with little of nothing but my grocery bill is sky high. I rarely purchase alcoholic beverages or high end seafood there, so why? When you can say that Publix is cheaper, that's a problem because people in the area know that Publix is like high way robbery with the prices, but at least at Publix it is always clean, the lighting good and the staff VERY friendly and helpful. That leads to my next complaint... 2. Some of the cashiers are meh. Usually the nice ones are people in their 30s and up. The bad attitudes run amuck and my feelings are, "Look buddy, I'm not having the time of my life right now in this store either." I have overspent, you ask for my telephone number since I don't have that ridiculous card you make the customers use to get our discounted prices and then when I tried to redeem the savings I had, I had to use a pin! Who the heck remembers their pin number anymore?! It's just not worth the hassle. 3. The seafood is very limited and not always fresh. You can literally smell the tilapia (don't eat that by the way, but I digress) way before you get there. 4. The meat department (that you walk past right before you get to the fish) had a rotten smell. They obviously are either allowing old meat to sit there or the temperature isn't low enough. Either way, food poisoning anyone? 5.) If you enjoy stale, chewy baked goods that probably should have been thrown out 3 days prior, then this is the place for you! I just can't... I usually go here to get my husband's club soda and sparkling water because Winn Dixie has the best beverage selections hands down - juices for the kiddos, flavored waters, etc. but it is no longer worth the drive, effort and then dealing with the high prices for products you can get much cheaper elsewhere. I really hope Kroger moves into town. Jacksonville desperately needs a grocery store that is moderately priced, well stocked, well lit and clean. I liked the Winn Dixie gas card not in favor of the new card. I guess if you are looking for a rental car or a hotel room, I can find better deals on line. Exxon gas is not my favorite. I am very disappointed with the service I received yesterday in this store. I only shop there for very few items because their produce is never fresh. The salads are horribly wilted and I can never find a good bag of lettuce mix or crisp spinach. However last night I bought a few items from the deli. I had tasted their fresh Italian seafood salad and watched the woman put the fresh salad in the container but when I got to the register, for some reason, it rang up and said discontinued or something odd. The bag boy took the salad and just said "Sorry can't sell this" and walked off. I stopped him and tried to explain that I did not grab that from any window or display, it was made fresh right in front of my eyes and most likely there was just an issue with the sticker she had put on it. He took it and went back to the deli after I tried to explain even further. When he came back, he did not have the salad and just said "They said they would try to figure it out later". I was very confused because no one even offered to get me a new container of salad or anything. Just left me with, "oh well, can't sell it". But I just tasted it, so are you saying something is wrong with the salad? I asked for a manager who came over and did the same thing. Basically, sorry, can't help you if the deli can't help us. I was appalled that they would just walk off and not offer to get me a new salad or try to figure out what was actually wrong. Obviously it was the sticker, not the food but you just leave me without my dinner? I will not shop here again. Their prices aren't really that good anyways and their hot food is always old in the deli. The hole situation left me feeling embarrassed first off in front of all the customers in line behind me and I was treated as if it didn't matter that you just took my dinner with no explanation. A bunch of young kids who have no idea how to handle customer service. Very disappointed and they just lost a customer! Don't shop there. They are very disgusting! read more
