This shop is great! Great service, great price even I didn't know about the discount ($55 total with certification). The owner/tech was helpful, friendly and honest. I don't know about the 1 star, but I think the customers were the problem on these cases. Have a wonderful day to everyone!

Went last minute without an appointment and got in right away 30 min to closing. They honored my Valpak coupon price and got me out of there within 15 min. There's a waiting room on the side where they test your car or you can sit on the bench if it's full inside. They usually have their STAR certified rating but still waiting on it for this year. Maybe will get that in a month or two from this review? Very nice and professional. They take credit and Apple Pay if you are wondering.

My car is 16 years old so I took my car in early to be smog checked in case there was a problem. The technician said he was unable to perform my check because he pointed out that a few hoses were not attached correctly. I left and had them repaired and came back to have my car smog checked. He only charged me $40 total, which included the certificate. This was the least expensive price that I found. I like the fact that he was looking out for me with letting me know that the hoses were loose. I highly recommend Winnetka Smog. read more

Excellent. In and out. Thorough job but not a stickler like some who are 'out to fail you'. Professional. Just like the other Yelp reviewers said. Thats why I went way out of my way to go there. He should charge more (lol). Thats ok, I tip big. read more

I've been going to this smog check business for at least 10+ years. They are completely honest, knowledgeable, quick, and helpful. They have great prices and customer service. I took in my mom's 1994 Honda Accord this afternoon, and they always make it so easy. I don't write unsolicited reviews often, but this is one business that should be recognized! read more

At very last minute, I realized car needed Smog Check before renewing my registration. Eddie at Winnetka Smog is great, fast, efficient and he's a very pleasant person as well. All done in 15-20 minutes while I comfortably sat in small waiting room with a large flat screen tv. His price was very reasonable, much lower than others. I highly recommend. read more

Never thought I'd be rating a smog check place, but I've been here twice and surprisingly have had two very pleasant experiences. I went here initially as they quoted me only $40 out the door for my 2003 Civic (all other places quoted $50 or more). They are friendly, efficient, and do their best to create a comfortable environment for the little hole they're crammed in. I've dealt with two different employees and they were both professional and pleasant. At no point did I ever feel like they were trying to pull one over on me or skimp on the job. This is one of those rare automotive businesses that seems to operate on the level. The worst part of this place? Finding it amongst the glut of auto service joints in the San Fernando Valley. Easiest way to find it; it's on the South side of Saticoy St, just to the West of the Saticoy/Winnetka intersection. Look for the Carl's Junior, and its right across the street. read more

Called for a quoteand gave me a great price for a 09 Corolla. Eddie was friendly and got me out in about 10 minutes, no drama. No wait, given it was a weekday but atleast you know you can get a smog check done on your lunch break from work! FYI when you pull in, its the last stall on the right. read more

This was my first experience with getting my vehicle smog and they did an awesome job taking care of me and getting my car smog. The two employees i talked with were super friendly and approachable. They also gave me a first time user discount. I can only hope that other business that deal with customers are helpful and friendly as these guys are. read more

I found this place off yelp and after reading the reviews decided to give it a shot. I actually just came back from here. I appreciated the service... I did have to wait a little bit because it seemed that everyone wanted to do their Smog Check today. Overall, I was in and out in about 30 minutes... the staff was friendly and the waiting room was nice. I'll definitely tell my friends and family about this place. read more

What can I say, this place is great being fast, easy, and efficient. Eddie got me in and out in 10 to 15 mins and for only $40!! Told me all the information I needed to know even though I didn't ask him. He even has an AC waiting room. Will be a repeat customer. Come here for sure! read more

Amazing service! Called to request a quote and make an appointment. I was told they'd be available in 30 minutes but since I was in the area I decided to go & wait in my car. 2/4/15 This is the only place I will take my car for a Smog Test, best people in the Valley! I had gone to another place because I was in a hurry to renew my registration and the guy there failed me and said three things we wrong with my car but I passed the emissions test. I didn't trust him and headed over to A&E Smog Test since I've been there before and I passed with flying colors. Was in and out within 30 minutes and they were all super friendly! read more

Very happy with this place especially it being my first smog check. I called to see if it would be easier to make an appointment before I came in, they don't make appointments it's a first come first serve. There was no wait they took me in right away and it took less than 20 minutes! The best part was on the form you sign it says they charge $49.95 for the test and $8 for the certificate. They only charged me $40 for the test and $8 for the certificate! read more

I don't do reviews as often as I do before, but in this case I feel one more positive review will be beneficial. I went today early in the morning and I was in and out of that place so fast. They are efficient at their services, and they tell you the details about your car. It is a bit hard to find, but if you're coming from Oso take a right into the alleyways before Saticoy and by the apartments, and the location will be on the left. Overall, it was quick and easy on the wallet. I definitely recommend this place. read more

We have moved around the corner in front of Popeyes by the Winnetka Post Office. 7624 Winnetka Ave Unit A1 Winnetka, CA 91306 My name is Alex, and I manage Winnetka Smog, previously known as A&E Test Only. I attended Nobel, Chatsworth High, and Pierce College. In other words I grew up in the Valley. We are sponsors for Chatsworth High sports team, and a great supporter for the Pierce College Automotive Program. There are a few team members at A&E Test Only, but I will be the one that you will probably see the most. We are known for our honesty, friendliness, and fast service. We hope to see you soon!

This is one of the few automotive shops left that is still honest, good price, clean, bilingual, fast, courteous and the technicians are actually knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I just took in my car to get a smog, and being a girl, I was a little hesitant because I do not know much about cars. To my surprise I was not given the run around with the price and the technician was very informative. He told me exactly what I needed to do next. Also, they have a great and clean waiting area in the shop with a TV. I will always bring my car here. I had called a place around the corner (on winnetka and saticoy) and the technician was rude, harassing and a total rip off. He charges $20 more a car and does not offer a free retest, unlike A&E who is more economical and does offer a retest. read more

it was that time to get my car a smog test... I went this morning to get my car smoged I went and stoped at the first place i saw i parked my car and asked for a price they told me $60 i said fine and waited in line to have my car smoged,to pass the time i checked my I phone for other smog test shops in the area and read the reviews on A&E I gave them a call they Quoted me $48 out the door,I asked the other guy if he will match A&E price he said "we don't match prices" i got into my car drove to A&E was out after 15min got great service and a fair price i was very happy. read more

Eddie and Alex are the Bomb!!! not only did i get a wee bit of lee way for the FREE RETEST butt $45 including certificate at a "smog Cert" where dmv requires i got to the 'STAR' cert, not only did i pass but they really worked with me and were very helpful and simply Glorious!!! thank you, everyone else wanted $70 and NO retest; i'll also dropped my id and $ and eddie gave it back untouched and even called me; v ery good people, very quick very glorious and i got my F#$%^tags, whoohoo! read more

Received DMV registration renewal notice for STAR certified SMOG Station. Chose Winnetka Smog, because of their 5 star reviews on Yelp. Got $20 discount when mentioned about yelp. Eddie smoged my Kia Optima. Got lucky as I don't have to wait and got done in less than 10 minutes as no one was there before me. Passed and $40 out the door price for a STAR Smog Station. No extra surprises or charges for E certificate and other crap. read more
