Awesome sauce! Really great guy not only acknowledged me when I arrived, but showed me where I could wait where it was cool (100+ temp outside). Once my car was up, he apologized about the wait, and we also had some small talk. The job was done quickly, and I was out of there in less than an hour (he was just working on a car when I arrived). Highly recommend!!!! I swear I just sat down and he was telling me my car was ready! The two guys working there were very friendly and went over the paperwork upon finishing. Plus they have very reasonable prices. Referring them to friends in the area and I WILL be back. They were very courteous and professional. I had a little bit of a wait, but they had an air conditioned waiting area with a tv, which was lined with licence plates on the ceiling beams. I would come back the next time I need a smog check, which is in 2 years unless my car blows up. read more

Great service. $20 off coupon helped a lot. $48 out the door for a Toyota Tacoma. Be careful of the coupon though, because you don't get a Free Retest for that. You have to pay the full price to get a free retest. So if you think you're likely to fail, don't go the coupon route. read more

This is only my second Yelp review, but the service of A & E was so good that I wanted to share this information. Getting a smog test is one of those frustrating annoyances that those of us that cannot afford a new automobile every 6 years have to grin and bear. Trying to navigate the gauntlet of shady test centers that advertise one rate and then charge you a higher one, or that make you wait for a seeming eternity to perform the test, merely adds to the annoyance factor. A&E was a dream: the technicians (I believe they are the owners?) were courteous and upbeat; the wait was only 15 minutes from the time I arrived until I was back in my truck; the price was actually less than I expected ($40 instead of the $50 I expected) because I happened to mention that I saw them here on Yelp! (Make sure you print the coupon linked on their website and take that with you and be sure to mention you saw them reviewed here!) Like other reviewers have pointed out the shop is slightly tricky to find: you have to turn into the correct driveway and drive down a row of other shops to get to A&E; the waiting room is nothing special but is clean and has a TV and free bottled water. There were no other customers waiting when I arrived, so I cannot comment on what the wait might have been otherwise. But they are so efficient I would guess it would not have been long. If you dread the thought of having to find a smog test center then I cannot recommend A&E enough! read more

I found them on the internet as I'm sure most of us do. I read all the reviews. Made my own decision based on location. They are close to where I live. Getting in there was a breeze. Going North on DeSoto, I turned right on Saticoy. As I got closer I remembered you could go in through the car wash. Went in, got done, in about 25 minutes. The one good thing I can say about this place is that they are fast. I was in and out in about 15 min. They are somewhat lacking in customer service though. I went to the originally 2 years ago to have my car smog checked. They asked if I lived in the neighborhood...when I told him yes, he said he was going to give me a good neighbor discount. Very much appreciated! My husband took his car a few onths ago and was given the same curtosy. I went in today and was not met with the same service, although it was the same technician. He quoted me a price of $55...much higher then the $29.75 I had been charged earlier or the $32.00 my husband had been charged just a few weeks ago. When I questioned him, he basically laughed at me and said that they NEVER have charged that low of a price...I told him I had my previous receipts at home. He showed me in his computer what they said they had charged me...but the price listed was their regular price not the discounted price actually charged. He ended up giving me a little bit of a discount because I was unhappy, but it was still quite a bit more then I had been charged for a bigger vehicle just a few weeks ago. Don't think that we will be going back here again. Significant loss for them since my family has 6 cars amongst us. read more

Great experience here. About a month ago I was down to the wire to get a smog check on my 2007 Toyota. I had read some Yelp reviews and picked this place. I called from the road, and I was about 10 minutes out. The owner told me I'd be next. When I got there, three other cars were in line, but he took me next just as planned. I mentioned Yelp and got the discount! The entire thing took about 10 minutes, which I spent in the clean waiting area, an area a TV and complimentary bottled water. I highly recommend. read more
