Called A&E @ 7:45AM they told me they were open even tho it was 15 minutes before the offical opening. I asked for the cost, $43 with discount for test and certificate! The guy I talked to was nice and friendly, provided good customer service. Provided air-conditioned waiting area informed me I passed & can proceed to register my truck, noting the info had already been sent to DMV. Great service! It's that time again! Avoiding Procrastination should've been part of my new years resolution. My smog check was due the next day. Luckily, Yelp help me find this place. While others were willing to charge me over what I thought was a fair price, A&E offered me a decent price I couldn't refuse. Eddie was the technician who helped me out that day. He even waited for me even though the shop was closing. He was friendly, funny and approachable. The shop also gives you a discount if you mention you found their place through Yelp. They did it quick at a very fair price. 2 years ago, I went to a place that jacked up the price because my vehicle has to be on rollers and they charged more because it was a truck! I was very skeptical about finding a place to get a smog test. My car is from another state so I came across a lot of places trying to take advantage of that.This place was awesome they were very quick I called in to get a quote before I came he quoted me 45 for the inspection that was with a coupon they offered. There was no hidden fees that's exactly what I paid. The guy was very friendly and even explained what I would need to do if I didn't pass. I did pass and the service took only 20mins. I have taken ALL my cars here (7 of them) for the last 10 years and have no intention of going anywhere else. I have referred my friends here as well. Why? Because they are honest, fair, very professional, and have always valued me as a customer. When I failed at some of the smog tests, they gave very good advice, and were not in a hurry to recommend one of their friends. This guys are the best, I have a 5 year old and a 7 year old Mbnz, took them to a smog test center in Canoga and both cars failed the test. There's no way a 5 year old vh would fail so I went to Yelp and found this place. I was looking for a a smog certification place in the Western SF Valley. Luckily for me, I discovered A and E Test Center by the 73 VERY positive reviews. I now make mine #74. It is a smaller place among other small shops using one driveway and could easily be missed. DON'T miss it. I was warmly greeted and was told to relax in the quaintly decorated waiting room. Awaiting me were drinks, magazines, and television. Within 15 minutes I was on my way. They were efficient and so polite and pleasant. It was a pleasure doing business with them and I hope they become hugely successful. read more

Just got a smog check on my 1993 Ford. This was my second time here and service was terrific. Eddie was friendly and made it a pleasant experience. Fortunately there was no wait and I got to enjoy a free Root Beer from the fridge while I waited. I also needed a new gas cap which they sold to me for $10. Great experience today. Best price compared to the 3 other places i called for smog check. But more importantly i was in and out, exactly as they said i would and they noticed that the smog certificate did not process as it should and fixed the problem before i paid and left. This is a great place to get your smog, very nice and professional. I didn't make an appointment, just showed up there was 1 car being smogged I waited maybe 15 minutes. They also automatically send the smog report to DMV if you pass. read more
