I called up Winston Eye to make an appointment. New customer. The people on the phone were rude and unprofessional. They barked out that they were booked up 3 months in advance, and if I wanted to make an appointment if would be at least 3 months away!! I live close by and drive past this place nearly every day. The parking lot is always empty, there is never anybody here. Pretty strange behavior for a place that is so busy that they cant see a new patient! They obviously do not want your business. Go elsewhere and don't give these rude incompetent people the time of day. For the record I went to another optometrist, got seen the next day, ordered my prescription, and all was well. Earl and I came here for eye exams and new spectacles. I've been wearing glasses for almost 30 years, but have always had a problem picking out frames because of the shape of my face. Earl, on the other hand, is just plain picky. This is the third optical (after Lenscrafters Greensboro and Garber Eye Kernersville) we've been to since last year, because we could never find glasses we liked. We both got a new pair here, so it was a pretty big deal. The selection is great. The service, on the other hand, is inconsistent. They were fine when we were buying glasses but not so much after. We called them 2 weeks after our visit, and apparently our glasses had been ready, but we were on their "To Call" list. Two women couldn't figure out how to adjust my nose pads. The first one was nice and sought help from another, and the second one said the problem was that I had a weak nose bridge. Thanks y'all!! They told me to come back the next day to get the manager to do the adjustment. p.s. Either Yelp has the wrong address or I'm reviewing the wrong branch. Adult college age daughter had an appt. with Dr Dekker for a followup and he told her her eyes looked pretty good. As a medical professional I questioned what kind of update is pretty good among other things. I called and spoke to the office manager, Sonya, who would ask the Dr. to call me so that I could ask him specifics. He didn't due to Hippa but no one called be back to let me know that they wouldn't be following up with me. When I followed up a few days later, she was unapologetic and frankly wasn't worried about being a professional following up with me about him not being able to speak to me. Terrible customer service. The ladies at the front desk were very rude and unwilling to help... I ended up cancelling my appointment. One even asked why I didn't have my prescription info with me and I was there to GET a prescription. Incompetent. I gladly took my business elsewhere. read more

Dr Freeman is great, however his front office staff appear to have trouble answering the phones, returning calls, and faxing over records.

If you enjoy long waits after scheduled appointments (we're talking an hour and twenty minutes later to see the doctor) and rude receptionists, lots of blunders with correct lenses when you ask for brand A but they give you brand B so that you have to make 3 different visits then this is the place for you. If you would prefer to work with courteous folks who actually care and know how to communicate if they are running behind so that you don't waste an hour and a half of your day check out Davis Eye Associates. Unfortunately for me with my job change they aren't in network as far as insurance goes. We will be looking elsewhere for our families needs in the future. Well my first appointment was last week for my yearly eye exam and contact fitting. First thing, compared to my usual eye exam, they are a bit more expensive, second, the ladies at front desk aren't very friendly at all, third called to get different contacts which typically is included as a follow up because the ones the doc recommended wasn't working for me, and I was charged another visit fee of a ridiculous charge. I've NEVER been charged for a follow up if the contacts I was trying were not working. And I've been in contact for several years. I WILL NOT be going back to this place EVER!!!! I would advise others to rethink it as well. I noticed their frames are high priced as well. read more

I have come here for a couple of eye exams. The staff is professional. However when I came in on a Thursday requesting to be seen, they would not work me in. I had an emergency as my last pair of contacts had just ripped, and I didn't have any glasses. They would see me the next day but would not see me unless I paid $145 cash in full, as I do not have insurance. I required an eye exam as my prescription had expired 2 months ago. My boyfriend said he would have the money after lunch onj Friday but they would not work me in later, only in the morning. So I have to wait til monday. And I can't see anything, can't drive anywhere, can't even see the TV. It is my opinion that a doctor's office should be able to work in a patient with an emergency. read more

Terrible service. According to my insurance provider my care is covered at 100%. Winston Eye Associates says that I owe a $50 co-pay and will not release my prescription until that is paid. My insurance provider called them and they still refused to remove the co-pay. Since I only get one covered visit a year, the only way I can get my prescription is to pay their extortion. read more
