I really wanted the mushroom truffle pizza, but they were out for the night. Instead, we got slices of margarita, pepperoni and chicken tikka, as well as some garlic knots. While the flavor was pretty good, I could tell some of the food had been sitting out too long because the crust was hard and difficult to chew. This pizza place is just full of goodness! This is my favorite pizza place in the DMV area. (Does it mean anything to say that I'm from NY? Jk, I don't want to be ~that person~) I am so happy they opened this new location in Pentagon City, right across from the mall. I ordered on the spot - I wanted individual pieces so it didn't take long for them to heat them up for us and pack it all in one box, along with the garlic knots. The garlic knots: amazing (although not the best reheated so eat as much as you can while they're fresh please!!) My boyfriend and I got 5 different slices of different pies to try - I will provide my personal ranking. GRANDMA: WONDERFUL. If you don't want classic cheese (or margherita), but still want something close to home, go for this one. Square sliced, it tastes delicious. The crust is crunchy on the edges and bottom but this fatter-than-classic pizza is also fluffy and full of yum. My fave of all the 5. CHICKEN PANEER - the house masala and the jalepeno sauce go so well together. I love and appreciate how Wiseguy thinks of these creative flavors that all go well... ON A PIZZA. The innovation truly jumps out. CHICKEN ALFREDO: Tastes exactly like chicken alfredo, but on pizza crust. damn. you cannot go wrong. Go for this if you like white cheese, and chicken. GODFATHER: So I'm not a big pepperoni fan BUT the sausage on this pizza is DELISH. SO GOOD. MUSHROOM TRUFFLE: This was probably my least fave. I do love my veggies but the taste of mushroom was quite overwhelming, even for me. A white cheese pizza. CHICKEN PARMESAN: So, I did not order it this time around but I did order a pie of it before, and I remember it was AMAZINGGGGG. Please check it out if you haven't already. So worth it and really hits the spot. One slice is big and hefty, but having two definitely cannot hurt. Great service. Great choice for gourmet pizza!!! This establishment is located just a walk away from the front of the Pentagon City mall. They have an interesting assortment of pizzas -- we got the mushroom truffle, chicken tikka paneer, and Alfredo pizza. The mushroom truffle was a standard pizza with the right amount of truffle oil taste. The chicken tikka paneer was very flavorful but a little heavy on the flavor. Our favorite was the Alfredo pizza. The portions were pretty big-- I split 3 pizzas with my boyfriend and we felt satiated (but not overly full). The pizzas are priced at $4.49 a slice so it's not too bad for some interesting pizzas. Heard so much about Wiseguy Pizza, so I'm glad I finally got to check it out. Even though there are a lot of pizza places in Pentagon City, this is a good addition to the neighborhood. I like that they do pizza by the slice. Sometimes you just don't want a whole pizza pie. I had the Margherita and mushroom truffle slices during my most recent visit. They are thin crust and quite good. The ratio of cheese to crust was right and it tasted fresh. They have quite a big selection such as paneer tikka, korean chicken, and your traditional ones as well. You can get a combo such as 2 slices and a fountain soda for a little over $11. They have their hipster boylan bottling soda which is quite good. I guess it has pure cane sugar, which is better than processed sugar. I don't know, but it sounds like good branding and marketing to me. The cherry coke was delicious. This is more of a to-go place, but they do have several tables outside if you want to eat. Definitely see myself coming back at some point to try some of their other options. read more

Originally from NJ/NY area and I find wiseguy a bit too doughy. Kudos to them for pulling off an appetizing paneer chicken pizza it wasn't bad pictured above. Pepperoni is my absolute fave and I give them a solid 3.5 again slightly too doughy and the price of almost $5 was way too steep for simple pepperoni. The staff at this location is really nice and friendly! And the location right by the mall and metro is very convenient with pad street parking if you're lucky to get a spot. read more

I would be lying if I said our first experience here wasn't a little underwhelming. Maybe our expectations were too high? Here's what's good: - Nice thinner crust and a touch of char, reminiscent of the true NY slice I spent college scarfing down, with hints of sourdough - Asked for them to go easy on the sauce and they met our request - Big sturdy box for the pizza, with a nice paper bed to mop up the extra seepage Here's some nitpicks: - Pepperoni was absolutely drenched in grease, even after a valiant attempt to soak up the flood of oil - Veggie toppings (red onions, olives, and green peppers) were small dice instead of sliced, unevenly distributed and sometimes barely noticeable. - Despite asking half and half, distribution was a little sloppy. We discovered a handful of pepperoni that found their way among the opposite half (and vice versa) - As at their other locations, despite offering some truly eclectic options (i.e. mushroom truffle or paneer tikka), there's a handful of standbys that we miss (i.e. they have ham but no pineapples to complete a Hawaiian) - Picking up our online order here was a nightmare around dinner time. Awkwardly stuck not wanting to cut the line, crammed into a tiny store, with one staffer funneling both pickup requests and new orders Located right on the corner of 12th and Glebe, it's immensely accessible and right on the way back to my apartment near Metropolitan Park from the subway exit and mall. I had an issue regarding my order/refund and Maggie, along with Anna did a great job resolving my issue. The day I had the issue, there wasn't a manager present so Cynthia (who was working that day) assured me she'll inform the manager. I'm not sure if she did, but I came back the following day & explained to Maggie what happened, the interaction was positive, she was very kind and helpful. I came back a day or so later because I didn't see the refund reflected on my end, Maggie was there, I explained to her the refund wasn't reflected, so she got the manager Anna. Anna was very kind as well. Not only did she reassured me I was refunded, she also compensated me with a vegan pizza! In spite of the issue, the customer service was above & beyond! I randomly stumbled upon this spot with my husband while shopping in the area and followed my nose to the delicious smell emanating from the store. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offered Paneer Chicken pizza, what a delight! Service was relatively quick for a walk-in slice and the slice was large and delicious! You could really taste both the chicken and paneer flavor! My only complaint is that it was nearly $5 for one slice of specialty pizza, which is way too much for this sized slice of pizza. The meats had a nice spiciness to boot. And the crust was thick and cooked crusty enough so you could fold the large slices in half without the toppings falling off. So I've patronized all the Wiseguy Pizza locations in the DMV except the one at Navy Yard. I'll give them a shot this summer. My favorite location is Pentagon City. Staff seem to be quicker and friendlier. And since there is some much foot traffic they are turning the pizzas over often which means a fresher pie. I generally get a meat of some sort like pepperoni or sausage however my wife usually get the Margherita pizza or truffle which means I'm trying 3-4 different pizzas per visit. Not to mention the garlic knots which have the appropriate ratio of doughy and airy. The quality is consistent. I drive across town for this place because they are the closest thing in the DMV to having NY/Brooklyn-style pizza. That thin crust and extra thin center. You get a bang for the buck with purchasing the entire pie but you have more fun buying by the slice which allows you to try different flavors. Give them a shot. This place is gives you that authentic pizza feeling without breaking the bank. Worthy of a high 4 star. read more

This Wiseguy location really let me down. My usual locations (pre-Covid) use to be Foggy Bottom and Chinatown when I was in the District everyday for work. On weekends because I live in VA, Rosslyn was my store. That's 3 out of 5 re: their locations. Wiseguy is usually very consistent but my pizza pie today was disgusting. The dough was tough and burnt. My garlic knots... burnt. I'm hoping it's a just location thing and not an overall pizza change. I sit here typing disgusted that my fingers reek of burnt toast. Yuck! Alright this is a slightly tricky review for me. I loved the cheese and the Buffalo pizza. The chicken parm and mushroom truffle were just okay. I'd go back and try more types- definitely getting the Buffalo again. It's fun how many options they serve by the slice, which makes it super unique compared to a lot of other "by the slice" places, but also made it IMPOSSIBLE to choose (a good problem IMO), so I just went for the most unique + plain cheese. We got a split pizza for kids, half ham and half cheese, also great. The GF cauliflower crust Supreme pizza was also really great. I liked how they have a drop down menu for how crisp you want your crust. I ordered this pizza from Uber eats the pizza arrived over an hour and 15 minutes late which I can understand is maybe not wise guy's fault however my issue is really with the quality of the pizza. Per the reviews this pizza is supposed to be very delicious and New York style and the greatest, but no. All cap. I ordered the regular cheese pizza and it was extremely soft and the crust was soooooo chewy the crust was dark at the bottom, even after I threw it in my air fryer to reheat and make it better it was still not good and soft and undercooked inside. absolutely terrible pizza, I will be throwing it away i wish I could have my money back.
