    Tomato and Artichoke Pizza

You'll notice when you walk in that the outside of this place looks like an old pizza hut and that's exactly what it used to be! The pizza here is nothing like the hut though and you're in for a real treat when you stop by for a pie that folds with ease

This roach came out of the red pepper shaker when it was shaken onto the pizza (above the pepperoni at the bottom of the pic).

Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was surprisingly not busy, so we were served very quickly. It was also a very spacious, clean space and I loved the pizzeria type decor. I've been to many different Pupatella locations and the pizzas are always solid. You can never go wrong with the Prosciutto Arugula- it's a good crowd pleaser. I also loved the Mushroom/Brie and they were generous with the Brie cheese! Can't wait to try more of their menu items.

I typically drive to Tysons for my Neapolitan pizza fix however something told me to search and see if there was a Neapolitan pizza restaurant closer to where I was and that's how I discovered Pupatella! The restaurant has a large parking lot in addition to a large outdoor seating area. I was greeted upon first walking in and immediately taken to a nice spacious seat and given time to look over the menus. It was almost time for their happy hour to begin and the server was nice enough to honor happy hour pricing despite me being just two minutes early. I ordered a lemon cello, martini, eggplant, arancini and a buffalo margarita pizza and everything was amazing! The martini was made with their fresh in-house made lemon cello and with love because the bartender really did her thing making that cocktail. I wasn't able to finish the arancini so I took that to go , but I devoured the entire happy hour pizza because it was so so good. I told friends we have to come back here for happy hour because there was so much on the menu that I wanted to try, but of course couldn't do that while I was by myself. Lastly, service was amazing. The two women who took care of me, went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed, and that my dining experience was phenomenal. I can't wait to return

Wow, the service here is phenomenal. Matt was so knowledgeable about when the restaurant opened and gave us some history. They were helpful with recommendations and they not only helped us but encouraged us to try their gelato which was absolutely amazing. The salted caramel and pistachio were excellent. We got the garlic mozzarella bread and the Caivano pizza. The ambiance of the restaurant makes me want to hang out in here. The vibe is relaxed and fun, there's a couple of games, great happy hour. On top of all of this, the prices are excellent for the quality of the food and the service. Everyone should give this place a try as it is a great place to hang out with friends, go on a date, or have a solo meal.

You have to get The Real Ragu pizza, the sauce is so incredible! I had a great experience here, will definitely have to come back. The servers were also very friendly here, and there was a nice young lady with glasses who was bartending at the bar that was so polite, thank you!

Was in the area, late lunch and decided to order a single to-go pizza. The nice thing about Pupatella is, for carryout, it's a quick, no hassle in-and-out - lots of lot parking. I dig that and frankly it's a consideration when I want to do takeout. I had had pizza from here once previously, recently (see my prev review) and really liked it. It reminded me a bit of Andy's without having to drive to Tyson's or Fairfax. Both Pupatella and Andy's serve Neapolitan NY style pizza with the foldable crust consistency, not the thick crusts of Domino's or Papa John's but not a crispy thin crust. The pies come in 1 size - 11" - they're cut into quarters which makes sense especially since the slices are foldable. As I said in my previous review, they don't skimp on toppings (see my pics) which is a nice touch. This time, I wanted to try something different so opted for the Ham (Prosciutto) and Mushroom - not cheap - $15.50. (The other pies I tried the last time - the Prosciutto Arugula ($17.50), Margherita ($16.50) and the Caivano ($18.75) - were even more expensive than this one.) (Btw, an Andy's whole pie (18") is way cheaper and a way better deal - $22 for cheese, $25.50 for their standard pies including Margherita and Pepp.) The pie transported home decently, no complaints - see my pic and vid (!). Get it home before it condensates and gets wilty a bit inside the box if it sits too long in there. Cure for that? Don't nuke it to reheat - always pop slices in a toaster oven or oven (I crank it up to like 450 for 5 mins) to "crisp it up" - good as new. :) Enjoyed the Ham & Mushroom a lot. I actually ate the whole pie and I didn't feel like I over-stuffed myself afterwards. I enjoyed the freshness of the pie dough and ingredients - kudos Pupatella. I've decided this will be my new go-to over Domino's or P-John's when I have the occasional hankerin' for pizza. (Another pie favorite if you ever go to Matchbox is their Fig & Prosciutto pizza - SO GOOD. Perhaps, Pupatella you might consider adding this amazing flavor combo to your repertoire hint hint - ?) If I'm craving me a decent pizza, I'll sprint over to Pupatella for carryout (way closer for me than Andy's). The wait time is reasonable (service is pleasant and friendly btw!), quick in and out right off Wiehle, and with carryout, I avoid paying the exorbitant delivery tack-ons which would make this 11" pie wayyyy overpriced. P.S. I would consider eat-in too in the future - the place inside was surprisingly impressive (I had old Pizza Hut vibes on the brain but it's nothing like old Pizza Hut vibes lol) - nicely decorated, clean, cozy, nicely lit, and comfortable. Full service.

Build your own sausage and mushroom and a pepperoni and sausage. Pizza was really tasty but I think they dropped it tipped my pizza, all the mushrooms were on one side. I'd order it again.

The food was all amazing. Service was very good. We got to talk with Matt the manager and he was very knowledgeable about everything. The inside, ambiance, was perfection. Lots of room inside and outside seating as well. We had a great meal for a great price. I will highly recommend trying this place.

    Eggplant & Red Pepper Pizza.
    Sylvie C.

I order from here at least once a week. Their dough is perfect and I love their eggplant or Margherita pizzas. Careful with their pizzas containing meat like pepperonis. It is super duper salty. I like them but can't eat more than one piece at a time. The service here is prompt and fast. The ambiance is fun because of decors. Bathroom is clean and gender inclusive. Looking forward to returning soon.

The restaurant itself is old school Italian with the drippy candles in wine bottles and dated decor. It could definitely use a facelift - and still maintain that classic Italian restaurant vibe. The food was the most disappointing part of the journey. Calamari that was chewy and not at all seasoned - clearly frozen and out of a bag and our meals were no better. I LOVE veal saltimbocca and get it whenever I can. The veal was thick, mozzarella wasn't fresh, and it was drowning in canned mushrooms. Nothing about our meal said fresh. We were leaving the next day for a quick trip so we did not take our leftovers home, but I can honestly say we wouldn't have even if we didn't have a trip planned.

I will start off by saying that I had low expectations given the track record of non-chain Italian restaurants I've tried since living in northern VA of which 85% have been terrible (remember I'm from NJ where Italian food should be the state food). But I said YOLO, crossed my fingers and ordered the marsala via GrubHub. The moral of the story is that I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by Cantina D'Italia overall because the marsala was pretty tasty, spaghetti cooked almost perfectly, garlic bread with cheese perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they sent an added little unexpected bonus of a pretty side salad with a homemade vinaigrette and fresh Italian bread and butter! Oh and the portion was HUGE! Totally got 2-3 meals out of it. Cantina D'Italia has given me hope ... or I should say at least gave me an Italian restaurant I just might frequent and explore all the other menu options :)

Sitting at the bar, we decided sure why not have their best steak? And we did. And it was. This was a Prime Kansas City strip, 18 ounce bone in. on top, a buttery braised shallot. Cooked to perfection, tasty and buttery. Our sides were these nice parmesan crispy, layered potatoes and a delightful grilled leaf spinach. We were a little disappointed we had no room for dessert. It was much appreciated. As for the food it was hit and miss. Our husbands had the short rib raviolis and-although it was flavorful, there was not enough meat inside the raviolis nor were there enough raviolis to justify the price tag. Since the sauce was extremely flavorful I forced my husband to share some of the skimpy sauce to dip my pizza crust on it. Luckily the guys had enough of the wonderful fried mozzarella and bread to not be grumpy. One tip that our whole party agreed on was that the sauce was better suited if it was paired with chunks of lobsters instead of of the stuffed short rib raviolis. I was happy with size of my thin crust pizza and it was way more than I could eat. However, I am not sure if I was actually ok with how the ingredients were divided jn the quarter a fourth of the pizza contained olives ,another fourth was the mushrooms, ,another fourth was the prosciutto and for the life of me I could not remember the fourth ingredient. I'm still ponedering whether I am a fan of this. My friend had the Marguerite pizza and she was extremely satisfied with it. I wish most eateries would have a dimmer switch by your table so that when you are ordering, there is sufficient lighting as you read the menu and when done can be adjusted to mood lighting. This was a business dinner and when we first entered I was amazed at how big and beautiful it was inside. The bar area was large, oval, and really upscale and nice! They also offer valet here, which is helpful given the area, it's tough to find parking! Our server was great! She offered many good options, offered up very helpful insight, and did a great job keeping an eye on our table. Their wine list is large, with so much to choose from, whether Italian or New World - They have a nice selection of bottles! They even have their own label (not sure who makes it) which I tried and it was decent, but we opted for something else. It was tough to select a salad, an appetizer, and an entrée, as we wanted to be able to eat everything and there was so much to choose from which looked so very appealing on the menu. I started with their arugula salad and it was excellent! Such a simplistic salad like this has to be made with fresh greens and this definitely met that mark! I did ask for a side of balsamic to drizzle a tiny bit in - but it really didn't need it. Dinner consisted of their braised short rib - AMAZING! So very tender and flavorful... YUMMM!!!! A nice balance of flavors, sweet and savory in this dish. Their pasta menu looked so very nice that I wanted a pasta too, so prior to the mains, I split their smoked chicken pasta with a colleague and that dish was crazy - so smokey and flavorful! The pasta was spot-on al dente too! Definitely a rich dish, creamy, flavorful, and very powerful - but tasty! We were all too full for dessert, so a couple of us just chose some Sambuca to sip as we ended the dinner and that was great, served perfectly chilled with the coffee beans. While we understand the need for policies, a bit more flexibility for special occasions would have gone a long way.
