I really want to love this place!! The decor and atmosphere is great! The spinach and artichoke dip and breadsticks are fantastic! Highly recommend! First time I was here I got the fish and chips. They were some of the best I've had. There are several items on the menu that you should avoid. Their rice is not so good... If I was the chef, I would seriously reconsider this recipe. Also, last time I was here my boyfriend ordered one of the daily specials which was a parmesan crusted white fish. It was not cooked thoroughly and smelled horrible. I'm pretty sure the fish was bad. Disappointing. Like I said, I really want to love this place!I think they need to reconsider some of the menu options and refresh their chefs/cooks on proper cooking methods. read more

I can't speak on the thorough dining experience as there was a piece of broken plate in my salad. Mistakes happen but the following action by the "management" at Wixom Station needs to be known. Although she didn't dress, speak, or carry herself as a manager; her name was Tonya. When we showed her the broken piece of plate (which was relatively small and easily camouflaged) and relayed that it could have been possible to crack a tooth or choke, she said they would remake the salad. The point was there could be more pieces and I wasn't willing to find out. This was the unbelievable quote- "If it happens in the future, tell us first and we will remake it again." Astonished, I questioned if she was the only manger. She claimed to be. We immediately decided to leave. We had not yet even received the main course but she charged us for EVERYTHING, including the plate salad. I told her we would pay but this is going to be publicly posted. Worst dining experience. boyfriend ordered a steak medium rare, They did not know how to cook it. Sent it back and it still came back well done. Katie the manager came out and said she would not comp the steak after our waitress offered to let my boyfriend pick something else. I got the fish and chips which was not bad, but still for the manager not to really apologize and let my boyfriend pick something else is ridiculous, we dine out often and have never had an issue like this. Several of my friends have told me how great Wixom station is. I finally had a chance to try it myself. They were right. I had the filet and it was wonderful. They have a nice beer and wine selection., I tried a couple of the craft beers my server suggested, and she was right on. The staff creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere , which I think is a great part of every meal. I hear the soups are good. I'm going to try that next time. read more

Wixom Station gets 2 stars because their spinach and artichoke dip was their redeeming quality. Otherwise my lunch was absolutely awful. I ordered the tilapia diane and it was terrible. The tilapia had an overly fishy taste and didn't seem fresh. Worse yet was the rice. I'm not sure if this is how the normally serve it or if something was wrong with mine but it has to be one of the most revolting things i've ever had at a restaurant. It tasted like burnt plastic with a sweet element that was just unpalatable. I ended up only eating a few bites of my meal and filling up on the spinach and artichoke dip instead. I can't say i'll be returning to Wixom Station because this experience was just bad. read more

first impression -hum. table dirty with gummy crumbs, the left behind yuk from lack of a thorough cleaning. got the veggie sandwich. about the only choice for a vegetarian. portabella ok, steamed fresh broccoli on sandwich odd and way too bulky to keep from falling off so took them off and made a side veg. wish they would have given a choice of cheese since i don't like blue. bun extremely wimpy and turned to mush immediately with the juice of marinade. almost impossible to eat as a sandwich. skinny fries really good. hubby got the burger with onion rings. said burger ok but could have gotten better at a takeout burger chain. onions rings tasteless. service was good, food nothing special, not even very good. surprising busy considering their quality. read more

If I could give "no stars", I would! We had 8 people. First three people got their food- My husband ordered prime rib and the waiter brought ribs. He took them back, brought out two more orders and the ribs. Told my husband that there were quite a few orders in and the prime rib would take too long, so he could keep the ribs or wait a while. Finally brought out the rest, gave everyone the wrong food, and my salad with romaine lettuce (instead of the spring mix) and no cheese, came with cheese. He took it back and brought me back a salad with the spring mix and no cheese. Told me it was romaine and after I pointed it out, he felt bad and took it back. He came back and told me he made it himself to make sure it was right, and it was. He kept saying he'd give us dessert, drinks, coffee, anything we needed because he felt so bad. We finished, and got the funnel cakes. Came out, My son and my sister took a bite, and spit it out. They were coated with salt instead of powder sugar! We sent them back and told him we didn't want anything else. Didn't say anything, got the bill, never adjusted anything. After we were done, I walked to the front and asked for a manager. Told her what happened, explained I really didn't feel like it was the waiters fault, but there was something going on in the kitchen. She felt awful and told me she would be right back with coupons. She came out, handed me a 10% off my next meal and told me this wasn't their norm. Oh well, I'll never know for sure... read more

Very fresh and wholesome fare, great service. Prices are fair. Good vegetarian options, but also a good balance of meat, fish, and chicken. I like the balance of flavors and fresh herbs, (e.g. rosemary chicken, chicken skewers with saffron, eggplant diablo app). I usually take leftovers home. Considering how busy they are whenever I am here, it's amazing how consistent the quality is. If you have any issues, it is probably an anomaly and talk to your server. My wife and I have dined at Wixom Station at least 4 times and enjoyed our meals. I recommend the Talapia Diane. The Caesar Salad is also very good, although the addition of optional anchovies would be beneficial. The ambience with the train theme is very nice. Went here for Easter brunch. It was my first and last time going here. Completely unorganized and overpriced. The atmosphere showed that it was likely their first time doing a brunch buffet. The server was definitely overwhelmed and it showed through her attitude. No pricing was displayed nor was there anything stating that they would add gratuity for a family of 5. I would expect to tip a server but a tip should be earned. Our server not only did not earn an 18% tip but barely earned 10%. I should not be forced to pay a gratuity for poor service. The food was ok, just ok. Nothing exceptional and barely average. Like I said, it was he first and the last time I will eat here. I definitely feel that I WAY overpaid for what I received. read more

I usually have a great experience here. However, tonight was a different story. It was 15 mins before anyone even came to the table. Our waitress didn't seem to care to even get our order right. Our order came out wrong and we were still in the middle of eating and the waitress came up with our bills and said that's all for you here's your bill. I really want to like this place - it's local, within walking distance and has cute decor. However, the service and food are sub par. We went to dinner there only to be served drinks in a chipped glass and one that had several lip marks still on the rim. No apologies only excuses about how difficult it is to clean lipstick off glasses and how the bartender was new. The waitress went to the manager and pointed to our table but didn't come over. When we approached the manager at the end of the email she said she had been planning on coming over but hadn't made it that far yet. The $2 up charge for sweet potato fries wasn't worth it either - they are frozen fries that are heated up. A few were still frozen. We will not be going back. read more

My family and I stopped in here on Monday night for a birthday dinner. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant overall and our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered three appetizers to start - Shrimp Giuseppi, Shoestring Potatoes (sweet potato fry/regular fry combo) and steak bites. LOVED the steak bites! Potatoes were good, shrimp was ALMOST there...I found them to be extremely salty. I ordered the flat iron steak cooked medium. I ate about half of the steak before I realized that only half of it was cooked to medium, with the other half closer to rare/medium rare. I chose the house salad while the rest of my table chose the caesar...they made the better choice. My meal also came with two sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes, both of which I enjoyed. Overall I feel like my meal had a lot of potential, but there were just a few things here and there that prevented it from really blowing me away. I'm hoping it was just one of those "off days"!! I'd be willing to give it another shot - maybe on a busy weekend night instead. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to finally try this place out since we pass by so often. Yesterday after our park trip at around 5pm-ish we headed in. I thought it was going to be busy inside but really it wasn't, the parking lot is just small. The two seating hostesses and waitresses were all crammed in the front area along with whom I think was the lady manager. They were so frantic (for no reason) and were completely unorganized. We had to wait for several waitresses to move out of the way before asking to be seated. We even had to ask to be seated in the patio area because the hostess failed to ask which area we preferred. After sitting down and looking at the menu (which in my opinion was completely over priced for a non high-end restaurant) we didn't seem to have a designated waitress. The lady whom I think is the manager came up and asked if we had been served yet, we told her no and she promptly sent a waitress to serve us. We put our drink orders in and I asked if they served Mojitos, if so, I'd like one. She hesitated and then said yes. We received our drinks and a cute tall glass bottle of water (which was never refilled or replaced when we quickly finished it). My Mojito was not appealing. It didn't taste like a normal Mojito. And the leaves inside were all half blackened. I decided to eat one because it didn't look like mint, turns out it was basil leaves that they used... I wouldn't have ordered the drink if I knew they didn't have the proper ingredients to make it. I left it on the table and hardly touched it. My boyfriend ordered a steak dinner and I ordered the chicken skewer. Again, I think $16 for 1 skewer of chicken with a little rice and green beans is way too expensive but the quality of my food was great. I enjoyed my food. My boyfriend on the other hand couldn't eat all of his steak, he did say they cooked it to his liking. There was a good portion left on the plate because it was all fat. In my opinion, if you're paying over $20 for a piece of steak, I would expect to be able to eat it all, if not MOST of it. Their house bread was delicious! We ended up paying $60 for just the two of us. Again, I don't think a place like this should be so pricy. It's decorated nicely but it smells like a thrift store inside, even though we were sitting in the patio area. The waitresses wear plaid shirts like they work at a Roadhouse. Our water and my boyfriends coke were never refilled. Overall experience was okay. I don't think we will be going back simply because of the service and price. The food was delicious so I give props to the kitchen. I expected more out of the atmosphere because of their high prices. I was wearing jeans and a tshirt and my boyfriend was wearing basketball shorts and a tshirt. I was worried we would be terribly underdressed but I was completely wrong! I give two stars because our food was the only good experience we had. I have mixed feelings about this place. read more

We've eaten here twice and both times were excellent. Saturday night at 5:30pm is the best time to go, no waiting. The appetizers are big enough to have as a meal and the zip sauce should be drizzled on everything! The drinks are generous and service was great. We will be back. read more

My husband and I have dined at this establishment two times. The first time, we ordered the prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables(I believe this is only served on Sunday). The meat was cooked perfectly and the entire meal was delicious. We dined there again last night, this time trying the sirloin, garlic mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. We had an awesome experience with the food and the service. We started with martinis and two appetizers (fried pickle and eggplant diablo) and they were great!! For dinner I got a burger which was really juicy and tasty and it came with a good portion of side fries. My boyfreind got the NY steak that was done perfectly just like he asked. The steak also came with side of fresh garlic mash potatoes that was out of this world! Hands down the best mash potatoes I've ever had!! Sour note when the bill came due to the fact that they advertise kids eat free on Sunday (we had one child with us) and we were not allowed to use the 10% off coupon in conjunction, although there were no restrictions listed. Sad to say that I went to Wixom Station for the first time yesterday and it was mediocre at best. The service itself was good...we had an attentive waitress who was training another waitress and they did a great job. I ordered the "special" salad- a greens salad with mahi mahi, fresh strawberries, fresh nectarines, almonds and feta with a raspberry dressing for $13.00. Greens were wilted and some seemed downright old and shriveled up, mahi mahi was very small and I had to "work around" the bad parts of the fish (which should have been taken out by kitchen before preparation/serving) which left not much good fish to speak of. Fruit was tasty and fresh on the salad. Didn't see any feta cheese at all on salad and raspberry dressing was nothing to write home about. Too thick and sugary for my liking. If I had been there with my husband, I probably would have sent it back, but I was lunching with other women and didn't feel it was appropriate to make a scene. At the end of the meal, I learned that neither of my other friends were "wowed" by their meals either. Went to the ladies room after my meal and two out of the three stalls had no hook for my purse. We were going to head to Benstein Grill but someone said to try this place. Sat at the bar as we usually do. Seats were rather uncomfortable and I hate bars with a big lip where your arms rest. The drinks were good and the artichoke dip was very good. That is about it. My fish tacos were average and my wife's chicken dish was inedible and priced very high for the two thin strips she received. I actually think they were pre cooked and the mushrooms looks like they were from a can. So this is where a good restaurant rises or falls. We asked for the manager and she was very rude. She looked at us like we were aliens and then started saying "this is one of our best dishes". Um obviously not for us. She said sorry and left. Then out of nowhere came back with one price of chicken and said "try this, it's fresh". We were already pissed so we said no thanks. She did take off the bill. No need to ever go back. Gluten free beware!!! So angry! Went to Wixom Station for dinner tonight ordered a cheeseburger and fries, GLUTEN FREE bc I have had Celiac disease for 17 years. I was served a burger without a bun and a basket of fries. I ate my burger on the gluten free bun I brought with me and then I tried a few fries. They tasted super yummy and were very crispy but I had a feeling they were not GF. The general manager happened to come by our table and I asked her if the fries were gluten-free and she said yes. I then asked if she would be willing to go into the kitchen and check the actual box the fries to see the ingredient list . She said the fries were not made in house but was certain they were GF. She agreed to double check and came back to the table and stated "prior to today I would have told any customer that the fries were gluten-free, but after checking the box it clearly states wheat flour." I then told her that she needed to notify her wait staff and kitchen staff. I told her that I was now going to be sick for tonight and tomorrow as a result of their mistake. She was not particularly nice or consoling; she stated she was sorry but I'm not sure she cared. I then got my full bill, paid and left. She didn't even offer to comp my meal, which I wasn't looking for or asking for but they should have. So, while she enjoys her evening I could be headed to the ER with uncontrolled vomiting and severe abdominal pain while my body breaks down my intestinal lining bc it can't break down the gluten. Thank you Wixom Station, your ignorance and disregard for my well being when noting my meal was GF has ruined my night. I'm happy you made money off my meal and appeared to careless for your mistake. Perhaps you should know the products you serve and if you are going to offer GF dishes make sure you read the labels! Thanks for nothing! read more
