After reading the varied reviews I decided to try the restaurant out with a group of friends. We found the experience quite pleasant although it was quite crowded on a Thursday night. Went to try a new restaurant for a change for a Friday. OUTSTANDING! I had the white fish with rice and a touch of vegetables in it. Just the right combination. My wife had the Flat Iron Steak with Red Skin garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The Flat Iron Steak their homemade Zip Sauce was "Unbelievable". We ate at the bar and Maureen & Liz were gracious and Outstanding. If you're looking for a place to eat out simple, home made, and tasty stuff. Come here. I'm in Novi for the week and happened upon this place on yelp, almost didn't go but I'm glad I did. The decor is pretty cool, the service was great and if you're looking for a good steak then I recommend the New York strip. I also heard from the waitress that the filet is even better. read more

Stopped here for the first time after the R.V. show. We will be back. Service was excellent, and the food is fanominal. My husband had the fish sandwich it came with 2 breaded large pieces of fish with a house made tarter sauce and some of the best french fries we have had in a long time. I had the chicken piccata, that was excellent, and the house made Italian dressing for the salad was some of the best I've ever had. If you're in the area definitely worth the stop! I ordered chicken parmesan, and it was delicious. My friend gave the same rating to his chicken picata. So often in restaurants the food is too salty for me, but that was not the case with either the chicken parmesan or the chicken picata. You can't charge the prices they do and expect customers to be ok eating with such cheap silverware. The food was decent, but the service left something to be desired. My friend and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch on a weekday as we were excited to have a new restaurant in town. Unfortunately, this did not meet our expectations. The waitress seemed annoyed with us just for coming in. After a few minutes she came to take our order. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it came out 20 minutes later and was just sub-par. It seemed like the kitchen just slapped something together, not a good presentation, and not a good impression on me. The lettuce was actually wilted so I took it out, bread was super soggy too. Fries were not even crunchy. My friend's dish was also so-so and just mediocre. We went there for lunch today - it's a charming place with music playing, albeit a bit loud for lunchtime. Nice waitress, she recommended fish and chips which were excellent but a bit expensive for two fish sticks. The salad was good and so was the bread. The lobster ravioli was just barely warm - like it was frozen and then dropped in boiling water for too short a time. It was supposed to be made there but just because of the served temperature- it really took away from our expectations. We told the waitress who said she would tell the cook - don't know how that helps me. I've had cold food servred before and always said it was not cooked cold, but this time I think it was. There were only a few tables with customers so they can't say they were busy. $14 for four barely warm (and a bit bland) ravioli - not sure if I'll be back. Went there with a large group. The wait staff was attentive and fairly prompt. The beer selection was average, but still well rounded. The food was regular bar food. Although they had some steaks and looked like homestyle Northern Italian, it did not match that of the other Alfoccino's. I had the fish and chips and it was very, very average at best. Oil needed to be changed in the fryer. Chips were a bit soggy and were made from frozen waffle squares. My wife had Chicken Piccata which lacked any real flavor and was basically fried chicken breast over pasta. However, the manager was very nice and sent me home with the Giuseppe sauce. I can't really tell you why this sauce is their special because it really lacks character. There is some small hint of lemon and tarragon, but can't decide if I like it or not Overall, we had a good time with our friends and this totally made up for the lackluster menu,. Ate here last night and loved the food. The drink selection isn't a beer advocate's dream, but it was decent. Liquor drinks were poured good and my steak was cooked to my satisfaction. This is now my favorite restaurant as I just love everything I've had. The cajun filet bites melt in your mouth and the spinach artichoke dip with their tortilla chips, though I think of them as a sort of pita-breadish chip, is so tasty. The presentation of the shoestring potatoes in a Chinese carry out sort of container is unique and fun. The steak dishes are really good and the cheese tortellini is divine. The atmosphere is very homey though it does get a little loud when it gets crowded. The staff is very attentive and it's kid friendly too. read more

Had never seen or heard of this place, but my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. Two words: GREAT food! We were very pleasantly surprised. A little bit crammed in seating, but it was on a Saturday night so it wasn't too big of a deal. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a wood-grilled taste to it. We used the groupon with no problem. Diverse menu and i tried cobb salad and asked if they could spice up grilled chicken? Server said no problem and cajun spice was excellent. Kudos to chef. Great location, parking with plenty of room. Staff is attentive but from what I can tell from 2 visits a bit cold. Food is average American fare a bit above average in taste and preparation and cost. My Wife and I have been regular Patrons for quite some time. The food and service has always been great... until now. I lost mt credit card. When I realized it my wife went on the internet to see when I used it last. Aha, Wixom Station! So I called and explained my plight to whomever answered the phone. I was put on hold... ... ... 15 minutes and nothing! A lost card can go south for someone if it falls into the wrong hands and We really wanted to know if We had accidentally left it there. We only live a couple miles from there and ran up to the restaurant. We were greeted and I asked to speak to the Mgr. The young Girl asked why do I want to speak to the Mgr.? I was a bit miffed over being left on 'Hold' so I said to the young girl. "Why doesn't matter, I would like to speak with the Mgr. She walked about 5 steps over to the bar and asked the barkeep something. She came back and said "She's too busy to talk right now! Then I told her about losing my card and, being put on hold. By now the waitresses were wondering what the buzz was all about, We saw the waitress we usually have, She is great. So the girl went back to the bar, the barkeep who apparently is the Mgr. opened the till and gave her our card. Took her about 10 seconds. Remember all of this just a few steps from where We were standing. I was speechless to say the least. Although my wife and I do like this place, there are plenty of other places to go where Management and Managers are a bit more Customer friendly. The little engine that is almost good. Food is better than a chain restaurant but one never knows what kind of service they will receive. Their young hostesses are not overly welcoming and tend to seat folks in clusters rather than spread them out in non-peak hours. Some wait staff are very good; others not so much.
