And if your manager actually did their jobs and managed their restaurant they would have come over and at least did a table check like most restaurants do. Most places a manager is present on the floor and have open communication with their staff when food comes out wrong. And when a guest gets a stain on their clothes from a dirty table when they are being sat, a good manager again will come out and at least come talk to you about it. But again, there was zero presence of a manager St this location. Lots of excuses but no results. If follower Yelpers or those out there looking for an honest review look at the unhappy complaints from your "guests" they will see you're very defensive but not proactive or truly apologic. All signs a poorly run place. Sorry if it's not what you want to hear but it's the truth and we as paying customers all deserve better service and food and owners/managers who actually care. I came here Saturday night with the date and we both really loved eating here. We both were impressed with the menu, décor and service. We happened to drive by on the way home and decided to stop in here to grab a bite to eat. What a great experience! For starters, the place wasn't to busy but it was also 10 PM so we didn't expect much of a crowd at that hour. The décor is clean and we felt comfortable right away. After scouring the menu, the date went with the fish and chips, and I went with the Spinach dip and onion rings. We both tried each others food and really loved what we had. We sat at the bar since the main dining room was closed for cleaning. (really?) so we had to sit in the bar area. The bartender was awesome, getting us drinks and serving us our food. She checked in on us several times and was a pleasure to be around. Overall, I would gladly come back to eat here. Granted, I wasn't thrilled about the dining room being closed an hour before the restaurant shut down, but hey, if it's a light crowd I can't decide those sorts of things. We sat at the bar because it was easier for us and our experience wasn't any worse for the ware because of it. (we just would have preferred a table.) Unfortunately, we were not given the opportunity to eat any food. We were sat in a two-seater, near the emergency exit during dinner. The hostess was very nice and provided us with water and answered our question about the soup of the day. We waited about 20 minutes, and saw two servers pass us by without saying anything. This is our 3rd time here and while the other two times were great, we never received such lack of service. In fact, a table that sat after us got served before we did. We got up, informed our hostess of the issue, and left. I'm sorry, Wixom Station, but you've lost two loyal customers. The train is in motion. Ambience 3.5: the ambience is nice. It has ornamental trains hanging from the ceiling and TV's scattered around the restaurant/bar. The eating area is large and it has a nice size bar. It seems to have a minor identity crisis. This may be due to some of the previous decorations left over from the valore but it comes across as a fancy restaurant with a sports bar feel. Food/drinks 3: I am a bit of a beer highbrow, so I found the beer selection to be only average. With all the latest restaurants opening up with a large craft beer selection, I was slightly disappointed with the draft beer list. Maybe my expectations are too high. Having said that, they had a fairly good whiskey selection, which I liked. I ordered the steak bites and my son ordered the filet. He ate the entire filet and seemed be fairly happy with it. My steak bites were ok, nothing spectacular. They were prepared pretty good but seemed a little rubbery. I am used to them being bathed in zip and/or garlic sauce, these were with mushrooms and peppers, which is how it was described but personally not to my taste. Service 4: I recieved very good service. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was always close by but not intrusive. Been to wixom station several times and where had this filet mignon been hiding? All though we have always had amazing meals there today I splurged for the filet mignon and let me tell you it was a delight. The meat was cooked so perfectly, tender and moist. The zip sauce rocked my world! It's good on everything not just steak- try it on the mashed potatoes or french fries and you really are in for a treat. I am always in favor of their rotating drink menu but today's pineapple island will take you right to the Caribbean! What a lovely summer drink. The place had an upbeat positive vibe. I think they need to revisit their menu. Some items (such as the rotisserie chicken in my last review) are great but others are terrible. I recently came back and got the Chicken Caprese Sandwich that was horrible. It was very low quality and smothered in bitter sauce. It also just looked bad on the plate. Had a Groupon so we checked this place out late on a Saturday afternoon (dinner menu after 3 p.m.). Tried the cajun steak bites as an appetizer. The zip sauce was delicious. My husband doesn't like mushrooms, so we dissected the plate right away...mushrooms to me, steak to him. Truth be told, I had a TON of mushrooms with two, tiny tidbits of meat and he had about 5 pieces of steak. We split a cup of clam chowder. It was creamy with a rich clam flavor; however, there were few pieces of clam to be found inside. We both tried the caprese chicken sandwich. We agreed that was delicious! They used fresh mozzarella and basil and the ciabatta bread was soft yet chewy. My husband ordered the onion rings and they were perfectly cooked...nice and crunchy. Otherwise, we drank three local "special" draft beers total. Unfortunately they were $7.25 EACH! I'm not quite sure what made the drafts special as you couldn't tell by the names or flyer. The beer was tasty, but I think the price was a bit steep for a standard pint of ale at a restaurant vs specialty brewery. Whatever, serves us right for not asking. For dessert I had the Italian lemon cream cake it was white and fluffy with a hint of lemon zest and very creamy. This was served with an after-dinner coffee a dark roast version of a Vienna blend it was not bitter with a hint of a spicy note with cream it was the perfect after dinner drink. I ordered the "Cajun" filet salad and my wife got the salmon dinner. Things didn't start out well when they couldn't get the soda machine to make two different types of drinks. The side salad came for my wife's order and the cucumbers were bone dry, like they were cut days ago. The main course came out and my "filet" bits were well done, had a large amount of fat for filet and no seasoning at all. My wife's salmon was bone, bone dry. The service was very prompt, to be sure it was an early dinner so we most likely beat the rush, all employees were masked, every other table is out of service. I had Chicken Parm, very good and not the ordinary, which is to say the chicken was thinly battered and fried (superb) and not smothered in cheese and sauce. We had been hiking on a Sunday morning and we were hungry. Fortunately, Wixom Station was open, and they allowed us to bring our dogs to the patio. We carried out a burger and beef tenderloin sandwich. The battered fries were great, and would have been better had we eaten them fresh (rather than letting the steam get them soggy in the takeout container). I order my burger "medium" and for good measure I went on to say "so it's pink in the middle." It came out just under well-done (no pink), which was unfortunate but expected. I've been here 3 times now, and the food has been fine but not great each time. I'd go again in a pinch when I'm in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. The lunch & dinner service seems fine in general, nothing special. As for special events, we had my baby shower here and the manager we dealt with was a little brash at first but she warmed up gradually when she realized I was a human being just trying to plan a party that didn't suck (who wants heavy Italian food on their "brunch" menu?) and not take advantage of the establishment. I have eaten here several times over the past few years and things just keep getting better each time. First of all, if you like iced tea-theirs is fresh and surprisingly better than most places. Soups are homemade and the many salad choices are all fresh and delicious. I have not tried all the things on the menu but I can say the chef knows how to differentiate between medium-rare, medium, and medium-well which appears to be a fading talent at so many restaurants. The steak pieces on top were raw and there was blood all over the pizza bread. We asked him to ask the chef to cook it again.
