I choose one of monthly specials coconut pudding, and mainstay french silk. I also ordered the cheese burger hand pie for my husband, which he loved! The coconut pudding pie was sooo good, loved the texture and flavor, they had toasted coconut on the side to add on top. The fresh silk pie was my favorite! It was not overly chocolatey and had a nice mousse texture, there was an under layer of crisp ganache that made all the flavors and textures pop! The crust is nice and buttery and flakey. These were not heavy pies, just creamy light melt in your mouth. They also have frozen pies so you can take and bake yourself. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth, and will be back this time to order a whole pie!

I got the sausage, pizza, and not only did I not like how it tasted, it made my stomach ache, so I tossed the other unopened pizza in the trash. I finally found some time to visit with my cousin on a quiet Friday early afternoon. We were greeted to a beautiful, clean, and well organized store by the kind and polite owner, Areej. The vibe of the store very much so echoed a candy store you'd find in a shopping mall, except all the sweet treats are handmade and imported from countries such as Palestine and Turkey. Areej was very kind and welcoming and walked us through each of the different sweet treats, such as truffles and Turkish delights. There are also various mixed roasted nuts options with unique seasonings, and even Dubai chocolate strawberry cups! Areej was kind and generous, providing ample samples of the Turkish delights in flavors like Oreo, Dubai chocolate, birthday cake, and even sesame chocolate! My cousin also really likes their mixed party nuts that had a great spicy kick to it from a special blend of imported spices. Because of Areej's hospitality and generosity, as well as the prime quality of the chocolate truffles, mixed toasted nuts, and Turkish delights we were able to sample, I definitely did not hesitate to take home some delectable goodies (see photos). There also were skincare products made in Palestine, and I bought this homemade rose scented olive oil soap that I'll be gifting to my friend for her birthday :) Thank you so much, Areej, for being so welcoming! Well, how about the fact that Fabrique Délices (a U.S. subsidiary of SAPAR) is based in the East Bay and uses local producers, like Niman Ranch, for many of its offerings? And they sell their wares at a wide variety of farmers' markets in the region? When you put this all together, it makes FD an outstanding source of delicious meat products sure to amp up the flavor in your life and bring out your inner carnivore. After passing by their stand at the San Mateo farmers' market for many months, we were finally lured into trying Fabrique Délices at the Saturday market in Half Moon Bay. Maybe it was the sunny skies and cool breezes, maybe it was the friendly salesperson, maybe it was the light crowds that morning. Whatever the reason, we stopped and sampled. Superb! There was so much to choose, but we settled on a French dry salami (saucisson sec, $11) bursting with rich tastes of pork, fresh garlic, cracked pepper, and sea salt. Sliced thin and served as an antipasto platter with even more cracked pepper and some cornichons, it is out of this world. It makes a great weekend lunch or light evening meal with fresh radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, mixed greens, and a glass of wine or beer. My first encounter with FD will definitely not be the last, as their catalog of offerings is simply too good to pass up. Next on my "wish list": their smoked duck breast, the chorizo d'España, the Rosette de Lyon, and their Merguez lamb + beef sausages. I am also tempted by their natural pâtés and the sausages made with game (rabbit, wild boar, venison). All in moderation, and all in due time. If you eat meat sparingly, as I do, you want these indulgences to be memorable. The French chacuterie tradition practiced by FD may well be your ticket to bliss.
