But for those of you who'd like to go along with this place anyways, keep in mind a large bowl is $19.95. It's pretty hefty, yeah. On closer inspection, I've never been impressed with the food. My friend and I came here for lunch today and we got there a few minutes before opening time at 11am, and there were already 3 groups of people waiting outside in 21 degree weather, waiting for them to open... They must be hardcore mongo grill lovers! It's been approximately a year since I was last here, I'm never really ever disappointed because, if the food is gross, it's kind of your own fault for picking weird stuff, or combinations. I do enjoy being able to choose what I want for my stir fry, and they do have a great selection of goodies that you can make your own meal with, from Chicken, Pork, Beef, to pineapple, squash to bean sprouts, to mangoes? You also get to choose for a side dish, white or brown rice or tortillas. The only downfall I have say, and agree with other yelpers would be the price.. Unfortunately this gets a very low rating since no one told us prior to doing our food how you paid. Every Mongolian restaurant we've been to has been all you can eat or a set price. Our price had major sticker shock. I had put on quite a bit of sauce. I had no idea. I loved that all sauces were gluten free and the rice noodle. The veggies were cut really thick and dried out. Not a lot of options either. The sides at the end were empty on both sides. The taste was ok. We were disappointed as Mongolian grill is one of our favorites. Definitely need to know pricing structure when you are served. We learned our lesson. Also there seems to be a hidden menu? Others were eating things we never saw or saw how to order. This is just a Mongolian Grill if you have been to one before it's not much different than the rest. However it's the only one in Wenatchee The service is just fine. The brown rice is AWAYS dry and under cooked. However you are not coming here for the brown rice are you ? The prices are WAY out of wack for what you are getting. Even if you add in the Eastern Washington surcharge it's still high. If only someone else would open up another Mongolian Grill here so they would have to compete. "City Mongorians! You tear down my City Wall!" That's what I think whenever I "wok" into the Wok About Grill (Shoot me now.) I am not gonna lie, I very much dislike noodle dishes, but the Wok About Grill allows you to customize your own bowl of noodles to taste like... well, not noodles. The veggies and meats are very fresh and it's fun watching the chefs sidle around in circles cooking your food. Be warned though, if you try and cheat with a medium sized bowl by piling things sky high (guilty as charged) they will upgrade your bowl and charge you for the large size... . This goes to show that if you really want to cheat, cheat with the large bowl as that's the most they can charge you. The Wok About Grill brings a different type of eating experience to Wenatchee, but it's nothing really special as you don't see one single Mongolian anywhere near the grill. read more

Very friendly staff (our server was Evan), very clean, and great food! My wife is a picky eater and she said it's the best stir fry she's ever had. It's a build your own stir fry bar. You can make the sauce as spicy or as sweet as you want. They're meat is sliced and frozen before they stir fry it, so everything is safe. They even had beer bratwurst as a meat option! This is one of my very favorite places in Wenatchee, its good and there is also nothing else like it around. You can customize your own meal and there are also other things besides a noodle dish. Everything is always fresh and usually clean, although sometimes it can get a little messy and the light fixtures could use a good dusting... There is one waitress who doesn't seem to care to much for her customers and just kind of throws things on the table which really annoys me, but other than that the service and people are fantastic! The Wok About, what a weird restaurant. A few years ago, Shon came up to my wife and asked her if this was a weird restaurant. She told him no. He told her she didnt have to hide the kids food that we brought for them to eat while we enjoyed the meal. His lack of customer service is obvious as many people have pointed out in reviews. The prices are high for what one gets. It's better to go to a fancier restaurant and pay high prices and one will get better food, service and a smile. Shon made my wife uncomfortable and he should have been more inviting. We dont care for the place since then but have stopped by once every 3 years at max. Shon may know how to overcharge but he doesn't know how to keep customers. As far as the food goes, dont waste your money on ribs. They suck! Stick to the Mongolian grill and add plenty of sauces and spices to make it flavorful or you wont enjoy the meal. Make sure your bowl is about to overfill with liquid juices. In fact, there are people who use a separate bowl just for the juices. I can forsee Shon starting to charge for using a second bowl as this is how he bumps the prices up. It just not worth it but if you do go, get the small bowl and push your toppings down to make room for more. Most importantly, get your meat first and then add the veggies. read more

One of his server's got us a highchair and put it upside down n told us it would be safe. The highchair fell over and my daughter's head hit the corner of the table. I enjoy Mongolian grills, so when I was staying in Wenatchee on business I was pleased to see one across the street. I went in for dinner and had an enjoyable visit overall. The staff was very friendly and checked on me several times during my meal to make sure I was taken care of. The food was fresh and tasted great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the wait to get my food cooked was pretty long, and they didn't offer jalapeños as a vegetable option. The folks complaining about price must not have read the menu which clearly states the price per pound for the stir fry, so that complaint isn't fair. read more

This was a good place, in Wenatchee-speak. The waitress called me "honey" a lot, which makes me want to bitchslap somebody. It's a typical mongolian grill so you make your own flavor. Although they have two separate grills, they only had two cooks working one grill during a busy lunch hour, so it was pretty slow. It was especially frustrating that the cook kept pulling bowls from the other line, although we had been there first. We ended up standing and waiting over fifteen minutes for our food to hit the grill. I know, fifteen minutes isn't that long, but try saying that when you're standing around watching them take bowls from people that arrived well after you. In short, the food was great, the waitress was fast but condescending (she also came by to make sure I wasn't stealing the hot mustard container...weird), and the grillers didn't pay much attention. But I give it three stars because I genuinely enjoyed my meal, and the bbq pork was top notch. read more

We went here tonight because it was close to our hotel. Dinner was yummy - but I can't give the cooks credit for that :) If you don't know Mongolian BBQ is all about making your own combination and having the cooks finish it off on the grill. The selection of veggies was great and I filled my bowl up with a ton of them! There were options of meat but only one carb (noodles). Next you choose your sauce(s) and they offer you some recipes to follow if you're not feeling creative. I did a combo of a recipe with a few touches of my own. My bowl looked huge, but both me and my friend finished our dinners because it was just so yummy and fresh tasting. Well worth a visit if you're in town. read more

The Wok is amazing. The restaurant is usually pretty busy but its for good reason. The ingredients are all fresh and very healthy and the entire meal is cooked right in front of you on a giant grill! It's awesome. You hand pick your veggies, meats and sauces, and they cook it for you. It's always soooo delicious! I like to load mine up with sauce for extra flavor and I always end up stacking my bowl sky high with noodles and yummy veggies and meats. The only thing is its a little pricey but I'm guessing thats because of the higher quality of the ingredients, which is a passable explanation to me. read more

This is mine and my husbands most favorite place to come to eat food is amazing a little pricey but is soo worth it even my little one digs in, its a comforting place to be and waiters are very outgoing and tend to always know when to be there when needing anything. I've been to several Mongolian grill-style restaurants, and this one simply didn't meet the expectations I had. You pay by the pound, okay, that's fine. There aren't as many choices for components as I had hoped. However, the two things that really made this experience unpleasant were the sauces and the cooking method. The sauce bar was, well, weak. The garlic sauce barely had any garlic in it. I believe there was soy, salt water, sherry, 'garlic' sauce, lemon juice, and two or three vats of 'special' sauces that were blends of the above. I expected a lot more variety, something that would put some 'kapow' in the food. Considering how they cook it, it certainly would have helped. That leads us to the other shortcoming of this restaurant. This is the first and only Mongolian grill I've ever been to where the grill was clean as the day it was purchased. That's not a compliment. I knew something weird was happening (every other mongolian grill I've seen was black as the ace of spades), and once the nice fellow put our food on it, it became evident. Here, they use water to lube the grill (and your food), essentially steaming/boiling it rather than frying it. The grill person kept beating my food with a stick for some reason...was my broccoli naughty? That cooking method may be more healthy, however, my food came out all gray and tasted like laundry. I had to double down on siracha and banana peppers just to make it taste like anything. There was no sear, no crispness on my vegetables---it was more like some sort of weird Irish-inspired Mongolian grill where they just boiled the crap out of your stuff and slid it on to a plate. This is where a good selection of sauces up front would have helped---anything to give this gray mass some flavor. There were some 'post cooking' sauces, Siracha, plum, maybe oyster was in there, however, it would have been nice to have those available up front so the food could cook in them. A swing and a miss. You fill up your bowl (whatever size you like) with fresh veggies and noodles and whatever meat you want, they have a lot to choose from, and then you make your own sauce, they have recipes to guide you. They cook it right there in front of you. I love this restaurant for veggetarian or picky eaters, because you choose what you eat. It's not really oriental, it's fresh style grill. We've been long time wok lovers in the valley and decided to stop in after not having been here in a few months. Well they changed! Their menu is now per pound (5.70 dollars per lb) instead of plate sizes and it was shocking how much more it is now! So be very sure about what you are getting it you will easily get sticker shock -- the ticket system is a bit strange as they hand you a sticker with your plate now and I guess you just have to keep track of it until your server picks it up. I am sure there is a better way to do this to be honest because if you lose it you will be charges a flat 25 bucks!! They mentioned that they raised the prices like that due to food costs and that they are building a second location in Leavenworth. I can understand food costs but passing the building expense on to customers? Come on. Not sure that I will be coming back as frequently has we have in the past. read more

I'm totally perplexed about the popularity if this place. It's as if the people that eat here don't get the idea that Super Chinese Buffet across the river has the same grill and all you can eat for lunch for 8$. (as well as all you can eat buffet. At wok-about A small bowl is 10.75 with tax. A large is 18$ this is really over priced for lunch. A soda runs 2.50$ so your lucky to get out for less then 15$ a person. Plus what's the deal with free tortillas or rice? I'm eating noodles not something else. I guess you can go all meat, but this makes me think that after watching every table with un-eaten rice, that this is not nessisary.(I'd rather pay less) Better yet watching old regular customers take a small bowl and putting so much stuff on it the take their hands and tongs to smash down and keep piling stuff, which is also dumb. The food is typical noddles with stuff, but I won't be back! No way for less money I'd rather eat cup I noddles. read more

We used to eat quite regularly at this restaurant,but with the new pricing structure based on weight before cooked, we noticed that the restaurant is not nearly as busy. It has gone to every booth and table taken to "where would you like to sit? ". We won't return,as much as we like the concept, $12 to $15 for a plate of vegetables and rice just isn't financially feasible and judging by the empty tables I don't think that we are the only ones that feel that way. read more

Always fresh and a great place to veg-out. They recently went from charging by 3 different bowl sizes to weighing your food selection. Since you choose your own food, you can load up on meat, noodles and an array of vegetables and sauces, any combination to satisfy your own personal taste. Today was the first time I noticed there was kale on the buffet, an addition I was glad to see. If you're not into the Mongolian grill-style stir fry, they also offer .steak. Add rice, tortillas, beer and wine and everyone in your party should be happy. I have always been promptly greeted at the door and seated. Service is always great, and the food not over cooked.
