We decided to get our meals to go, and everything was still hot and fresh when we ate. We both tried the hibachi rice and egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty standard, but the hibachi rice was outstanding--absolutely delicious. On top of that, the pricing is hard to beat. We used to come to this place weekly under the old ownership. The food was always hot and alway filled. With new ownership , the last 3x we have been in, it is such a disappointment. Very little customer service interaction compare to the previous ownership. But the biggest thing here is the food is never refill at a timely manner. There are more empty food tray than there is food for customer. And when they do refill it up, it's very little portion. And they are selective with what they are refilling instead of refill all the empty tray. They are making us paid full dinner price but no food for us to enjoy. Oh man they were good. Several people were in for just crab legs so I did not try to interfere with their attack on that section of the buffet too much LOL!!! The prepared section is ok. But for me the shining star is the raw bar and the chef on the griddle. This is the first place I've been to where they cook the ingredients in stages. Noodles last with sauce. So glad I ended up trying them through 2 of the surprise plates, because it gave me a lot of variety and a clear understanding of the high quality of food being prepared here! How too good to go works is that the employees prepare a plate for you based upon items that they have too much stock of... Sometimes this can mean an item is not popular or the quality is low, but that's not the case here. Because it's a buffet the line is cleared frequently. In one plate, we received fried rice a few potstickers two pieces of fish and a hefty serving of pepper chicken. We devoured that plate. The second plate was more of a sampler and contained lo mein, orange chicken, beef & broccoli and a little more pepper chicken. I came during the evening. The most of the space is buffet style, with such common dishes as general Tso's chicken, and sides like crab Rangoons. The sushi selection was very limited, just some rolls like you find in many sushi places. But the teppanyaki grill was great. Better than I have had at places like Hu Hot and other similar "pick your poison and we'll grill it for you" type places. I sampled some of the buffet offerings while waiting for my grill plate to be completed. The grill service was quite fast. The buffet items make good appetizers, but the grill is really what this place specializes in. Mind the signs on the sauce display. The sign warns that the chili oil sauce is hot, and it is not exaggerating. I only took about half a scoop, and it was about as spicy as I care to eat. But the flavor was delicious. After a long day on the road driving to Kansas City, it was the first place I found after I arrived at the Holiday Inn Express next door. When we went to pick it up we noticed this is a buffet place and in the weekend they have seafood buffet. I would only pay for the surprise bag here! This small Chinese restaurant has quickly become one of our favorite spots! I first discovered this place on Too Good To Go, ordering a plate full for lunch or dinner for $6-8 dollars. I ordered the chicken lo mein. The noodles are thinner than other lo mein options in town, and the fried chicken pieces are smaller, which makes them cooked more thoroughly. I tried ordering 3 times, the first time they hung up, the second time I hung up because they were not understanding and they texted saying I could text the order. The crazy order in question: 1 avocado roll 2 vegan rolls. First red flag probably should have been that there was eel sauce on the vegan rolls, but I just asked for none. Waited 30 minutes for my 3 veggie rolls just for it to come out with eel sauce, then waited another 20 for it to be remade. Then paid 40 for 3 VEGGIE ROLLS. Insane. 1 hour of waiting for VERY mid sushi. There are so many other places you could go, don't go here. read more

It's a small buffet, but since they also have a teppanyaki grill and fresh sushi, it doesn't feel like you're missing out - although I would love it if they added a vegetable option to the buffet, like green beans or bok choy. The Chinese buffet has several appetizer options, including two soups and two types of crab Rangoon. Even on the weekday lunch buffet there are always seafood options. Sometimes fried fish or fried shrimp, and usually a grilled shrimp stir fry and a hot crab dish. They always have something like general tso's chicken and/or honey chicken, as well as jalapeño chicken and beef and broccoli. I usually get the rice noodles at the teppanyaki grill with veggies and meat. There are several sauce options to flavor your grill meal. Then I add some of the Chinese buffet options as well. There are a lot of desserts to choose from on the cold bar as well as green salad and fruit. Usually some hot sugar donuts as well. I've gotten buffet takeout once. You can walk in and ask for a box to fill up and pay by the pound. I think it's $14/pound. Usually I dine in, though. Before I go further, congrats to my pal and fellow Elite, Charlie for being first to review... *grumble, grumble. Roundhouse kick ROADHOUSE!* Seriously man? And in my own backyard. I have had buffets before, but this buffet is the epitome of fresh. The egg rolls are nice and crisp on the outside and the inside hot and properly moist with that bit of crunch from the crisp veggies. I can't recall ever having egg rolls this fresh like this unless made at home by the mother of a close friend who is Chinese. The seafood (we had mussels, shrimp and what appeared to be a crab and vegetable dish and all were flavorful and fresh. The sushi was made fresh to order and also included in the price of our buffet and again was super fresh and tasty. My daughters had desserts and the only dessert that wasn't cared for was the coconut cake which was actually very good, we just aren't fans of coconut (says the man who took two bites of it. Don't judge). The owner came round to see how we liked everything and was a super nice man. All the staff were. He asked if we had tried the hibachi. When we said we hadn't, but that we were going to get it to go for dinner tonight, he said that we had to try the steak sauce. We went up to the ingredient bar and there were loads of veggie and protein options. All your veggies. Noodles, rice, chicken, shrimp, and STEAK! Here comes the sauce bar, it featured the standby sauces (teriyaki, lo mein, garlic, and soy) and the cherished steak sauce which the smell was enough to make my already stuffed self hungry again. The owner started the show and he brought the heat, no really. He made flames, that was the heat. Now usually I don't discuss actual numbers, but for my two daughters and I we gorged ourselves on sushi and Chinese from the buffet including desserts and all of us got full containers of food from the Hibachi and spent under $100, That is pretty epic in my book. If you are in Northtown you will kick yourself if you drive by without going in and if you do go in, you will be so stuffed when you are through you won't be able to kick yourself. New place. The owners really make you feel at home. From the get go they explain the concept of the restaurant. They offer Chinese food hot plates, sushi and Habachi. Hot plates are delicious and the ingredients look fresh. For sushi They give you a list that you can choose from, meaning that it is always fresh. I think the star of the place was the sushi. Habachi was ok, nothing to remark. But come on, we are talking about 15$ per adult ( price from 04/2022) which is unbeatable. Highly recommended. Went here for the second time just recently. Last time I visited was when they were still very new. They've definitely improved a lot since. I'm not sure how their buffet prices are so cheap considering everything that they offer. We went during the seafood buffet and it was only 20 dollars a person. I believe it's a couple bucks cheaper when they don't have seafood. We also went an hour or so before closing so they didn't have a fully stocked buffet but the staff was more than happy to cook or make anything for us upon request. We tried a little bit of everything including the Chinese, hibachi, and specialty sushi rolls. The hibachi is great and there's a ton of protein options to pick from like sausage, chicken, beef, shrimp, pork. If you want things freshly cooked this is the way to go. The sushi was also super fresh as well especially since they made these to order for us and we really enjoyed their seaweed salad. If you're looking for an inexpensive buffet in the Northland this is the place to go. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing and fresh with choices of hibachi, Chinese food, sushi & seafood (even for the lunch buffet on the weekends)! The jalapeño fried shrimp is my favorite because it's very well seasoned and cooked with perfection! Although they don't have a wide variety of dishes they are all fresh and carefully made with flavor and seasonings! The service here is also impeccable with someone constantly walking around to make sure all of your needs are met! We just had our 3rd visit here! We recommend it to all our friends! It is now our go to buffet. The service is top notch. When we came here in December for our son's 13th birthday. You put on a special birthday song on the TV for him. A special birthday dessert and sweet note. The food is incredible. They are always on top of bringing out new fresh foods. Something different in the buffet each time yet always have our staples. Plenty of spicy dishes too! I love that they always have gluten free options too. Rice noodles and crab Rangoons I can actually eat! We love that the Hibachi grill is also included in the price. You can make your own have the dishes they prepared for you. I have to hand it to this small establishment-- initially, it was probably closer to 4 stars when it first opened, but now I can safely say it's a 5-star place. Here's why: Although this buffet does not have the most variety, I feel like they cook in small quantities so that the food is always fresh. I REALLY appreciate that. Plus, they have the staples (general tso's, crab Rangoon, egg drop soup, etc.). I think the only thing I wished they had was stir-fried string beans with garlic. But this place also has made-to-order sushi. Is it fancy? No. It's very basic (think California rolls), but it's unlimited! The benefit to having sushi made-to-order is that the rice doesn't get super hard/stale. To top it off, this place also has a hibachi section where you can build your own plate. If I had anything else to add, it's that the owner is a man that seems to really care about his business and his customers. He's always incredibly nice, and it makes us feel good to support an owner like him. Overall: I really recommend this place.
