Wolcano is a great little seafood buffet with piping-hot food ready and waiting as soon as you walk through the door. The variety is impressive, ranging from traditional Chinese dishes and soups to sushi and hibachi. By far the best value is the choose-your-own hibachi-style buffet. You select your veggies, noodles, meats, and more, then choose the seasonings and sauces to go with it. At the hibachi window, they cook your selections right in front of you. Everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and made exactly the way you like it--very tasty! The restaurant itself is clean, well organized, and run by attentive, friendly staff who make the experience even better. This is definitely a place I would happily return to.

My boyfriend actually found this place and now it's one of my favorites! We LOVE Kaws & Labubu and so when we walked in it was perfect. The food was great, atmosphere even better, 10/10 visit.

Little sushi and rangoon on my raw bar creation the chef prepared for me. Delicious!!

Made it back and recalled the best sauce combo for the teppanyaki so nailed it first try!! Crab legs were on the buffet again and got a few when the brought them out fresh steamed. Oh man they were good. Several people were in for just crab legs so I did not try to interfere with their attack on that section of the buffet too much LOL!!! The prepared section is ok. But for me the shining star is the raw bar and the chef on the griddle. This is the first place I've been to where they cook the ingredients in stages. Noodles last with sauce. Love it since the noodles are not just steamed to mush like other hibachi places. Very solid option for Chinese Dinner buffet. Will be back again the wifey liked it too!!

I came during the evening. The most of the space is buffet style, with such common dishes as general Tso's chicken, and sides like crab Rangoons. The sushi selection was very limited, just some rolls like you find in many sushi places. But the teppanyaki grill was great. Better than I have had at places like Hu Hot and other similar "pick your poison and we'll grill it for you" type places. I sampled some of the buffet offerings while waiting for my grill plate to be completed. The grill service was quite fast. The buffet items make good appetizers, but the grill is really what this place specializes in. Mind the signs on the sauce display. The sign warns that the chili oil sauce is hot, and it is not exaggerating. I only took about half a scoop, and it was about as spicy as I care to eat. But the flavor was delicious. After a long day on the road driving to Kansas City, it was the first place I found after I arrived at the Holiday Inn Express next door. After driving in the dark of winter, a well lit room with soft music was a welcome environment.

This small Chinese restaurant has quickly become one of our favorite spots! I first discovered this place on Too Good To Go, ordering a plate full for lunch or dinner for $6-8 dollars. Totally surprised when the flavors were also amazing!! Looks a little run down on the outside, but the interior is fresh and the staff is so friendly. Because I knew the food was tasty, we came for the lunch buffet and we definitely enjoyed our meal. They do politely ask that you only take what you plan to eat in order to reduce food waste.. if you want to take your leftovers home, there is an upcharge. But I've heard that this restaurant may provide meals for the local homeless population.

Went with my family yesterday for dinner. The food was ok. There was a hair in my daughter's roll. The staff provided a 5% discount. We will not be going back.

We were looking for a place for our Ohana to eat since we missed breakfast. My wife found this spot so we decided to come. The outside looked a little old but when we walked in it was a modern and very nice looking. We ate the buffet and it was amazing. We had the sushi, hibachi, and the buffet. The food was good. Coming from Jefferson City this buffet stands out above anything we have there. The service was very good and made you feel welcomed. When we come back to KC we will be back for sure. Definitely a bang for your buck. For $12 at lunch, or $16 at dinner you have access to a traditional buffet set up (i.e., fried rice, crab Rangoon, general tsos chicken, and beef and broccoli), your pick of two different sushi rolls (made fresh to order), as well as a teppanyaki station where you can build your perfect plate of meats, fish, and/or veggies which is then cooked on a flat-top grill. The buffet choices were a little slim compared to many other buffets, but food was fresh, flavorful, filling, and had many staple dishes. Service is thoughtful - servers keep glasses filled and plates cleared, and check by every so often. The building itself is well-maintained, very clean and tidy. Maybe would have been nice to have some music playing, but other than that no complaints.

    Crab legs on the weekend!

Absolutely nothing fresh came out the entire meal, except for the sushi. Not worth $15 for lunch. Not returning.

Food was okay but not sure if it was worth the money for just 2 people. I don't think i'll be rushing back in.

Then we sat down at the teppanyaki table, and things went south faster than a dropped egg. Our server was solid, but the "chef" was a total trainwreck. It felt like we were an inconvenience to his schedule. He just rushed through the motions with zero engagement, like he was checking off a grocery list instead of actually cooking for people. The "Highlights" (and I use that term loosely): The Timing: I ordered the steak and scallops. He finished my steak before the rice even hit the grill. My cow just sat there getting cold while we watched him "work." The Culinary Wisdom: When one of us asked if the beef was a strip or a ribeye, he literally just said, "It's steak." Cool. Glad we cleared that up. The Cross-Contamination Special: We had a vegetarian in the group. He proceeded to cook her tofu directly in the steak juice. Truly a "chef's kiss" moment if you hate your customers. The Doneness (or lack thereof): The salmon was basically still swimming (raw), and the scallops were charred and tasted like fire and brimstone. The Mussels: I grabbed a side of green mussels. They were... fine? I've had much better elsewhere in town, but they were the Olympic gold medalists of my meal by default. The Silver Lining? The Sake. It came in a take-home glass, was incredibly easy to drink, and was 100% necessary to get through the rest of the experience. I can't speak for the sushi, but if it's handled with the same "I don't want to be here" energy as the teppanyaki, I'd stay far, far away. Two stars only because the hostess was nice and the Sake did its job.
