Wolley Movers made my move go so smoothly! Not sure how I accumulated so much stuff for them to move, but they got everything out of my old apartment and into my new place so quickly and efficiently. It would have taken me triple the amount of time to do it myself. They maneuvered some pretty large pieces of furniture through tight spaces. I feel compelled to write my first Yelp review as I am so impressed with the Wolley Movers team. We were referred to Wolley by a neighbor who highly recommended them after having used them for 3 moves, so we decided to try them to move out of our 4BR home. As such, I had very little insight as to how much space we'd need for all of our accumulated stuff. After we had already contracted with Wolley, we contacted them to express our concern and Norman, a manager with the company, came out and assured us that if one 26-foot truck didn't suffice they would have another at the ready. Moving day came and the team of Erich, Robert, Jose and Carlos showed up on time, very ready to go, and with a second truck in case we needed it! Nice! They were tireless, non-stop workers. The packing was efficient and they took great care with our furnishings. The first truck was filled wall to wall, top to bottom like a Tetris puzzle. Only after the first truck was packed did they break to let us get them a short lunch. We did need that second truck and it was great to have it at the ready. Amazingly after arriving at the new home, they were just as ready to do the unpacking and placement. The rates were very fair and their work was very deserving of additional gratuity. The move with travel took almost 12 hours, and it was amazing the energy that the Wolley team had throughout. Thank You. read more

They don't show up on time nor do they explain their payment method. I don't recommend. I scheduled a move during the weekend and was told that if I was not available then I'd automatically be charged 2 hours of labor. Well after initially having to call and get an explanation of why my invoice was $100 over what I was quoted (would have cancelled if I hadn't paid a deposit), I planned for my move. I get to the place where I was moving 15mins before they are scheduled to arrive. 1min before, depatcher says they will be there in 40mins! (so they will already be late and no apology/explanation). I wait the 40 mins and call again since nobody has arrived, I'm told another 5mins. I call again and I'm told another 10mins and that I should be PATIENT...really?! You are now an hour late with no apology and I'm the one that needs to be patient? Once the move is done the guy looks for payment....never was I told there was only cash payment (mind you I talked to the people in the office 3 times before the day of the move). Now I had to go get cash after business hours. I left a message about my unpleasant experience and never received a call back. I WON'T RECOMMEND. I don't care if the clock starts when they get there. If I schedule a time, get there at that time. read more

tl;dr - A three hour job was completed in 45 minutes. I can't believe how good these guys are. My previous movers never showed up for the original job and when rescheduled, never showed up either. After two hours, I called a bunch of places during a busy Memorial Day, and Wolley told me that they have a two man crew available to show up within an hour. They showed up with a THREE man crew (the third guy "was with us, so we felt like bringing him along," they said) and proceeded to not only professionally and strongly haul everything up to the third floor of a four story walk up building, but they did it in record time! My 200 pound electric reclining couches were hauled up the stairs in FIVE MINUTES EACH (it took my other movers an hour just to haul them out of my Philadelphia second story walk-up). I am sincerely impressed with the degree of professionalism, service, and especially expediency that they completed the job. read more

Worst moving experience ever. They broke several things and furniture in the move, severely damaged my new wood floor and the worst part was they never solved any of it. They never paid back or accepted any of the charges, they only fixed 2 expensive furniture they broke but everything else was ignored, like if I was lying about them being responsable. They also didnt plan for the move, so they brought the wrong size truck, not enough material and took more than twice the time they said it was going to take them. Therefore the building charged me for a penalty fee that they never reimbursed either. I will not recommend this service to anyone. I have done several moves, even across countries and this is by far the worst experience. read more

After much research I chose Wolley Movers for my move from Uptown Chicago to Bensenville IL. I was PLEASENTLY surprised when they showed up, quickly viewed over what was to be moved, then promptly returned to my 9th floor apartment with Gaylords and dollies. They were Quick (just under 2 hours for a large 1 bedroom apartment), on time for the drive to Bensenville, and stacked everything Nice and Neatly into my Storage Facility. I'm a little torn here. Pros: - likely the cheapest movers you will find in Chicago. While everyone else was quoting me $600-700, these guys quoted me at $380 for a studio. - Transparency. I cannot stress this enough. This was awesome. The rate sheet told you exactly how much everything was. Tip: do all the packing yourself. You will save yourself a pretty penny. We spent money on boxes, shrink wrap and bubble wrap, and nothing broke, and we saved time. Otherwise, Wooley has supplies, but it is a little upcharged from home depot charges. Also you'll save yourself $10 if you choose to pay cash vs. credit card. - Efficiency: 3 movers came for a studio apartment. They were finished half an hour early. - Punctuality: movers were on time on a holiday weekend. Cons: - I was a little taken back by the unfamiliarity of these professional movers with Chicago permit requirements. Apparently, if you're unloading in an alley with a professional mover, you need a permit for alley parking. This was one hell of a hassle. At first, I tried getting the permit, but the City of Chicago said that the movers had to do it. So I called Wolley and the lady who I was working with (name omitted for her privacy) had made a comment asking, "is this your requirement or the city's?" What? - Professionalism in emails: I got emails accusing me of not providing certain information (not to mention in fragments) when I had previously provided information. I got an email after I initiated a follow-up, saying "I've been trying to reach you..." but where the person left no voicemail, sent no email. Little things like that make the customer feel like its vendor is pushing accountability. Not good. Misc.: - Wolley called me to ask how my "customer experience" was and when I said "all was well" - they suggested I change my yelp review. I never wrote a yelp review before today. Turns out my fiance did and they wanted me to get him to change his review? It was bizarre. All in all, a good value, a good price, and good movers. read more

Third time is definitely not the charm. We have hired Wolley Movers the last three times we've moved and the first two times went great. This third and final time, not so much. Furniture was not cared for (lots of dings and scratches) and one of the movers apparently had some sticky fingers and stole some cannabis products out from my nightstand. I know times are tough right now, but come on, Wolley! Really not cool. Plus their truck wasn't big enough and they had to do several trips. Not a great experience. Shop around for someone more reputable, careful, and honest. read more

Don't trust these thieves. They stole and used my credit card and/or took pictures of others I had in a drawer. They also charged me way more than they originally quoted and then were visibly disappointed when I tipped them an additional $100, as if that wasn't more than enough for the three thieves who came to move my furniture. I will be pressing charges for the credit card and identity theft and want to make sure that other potential customers know not to trust this company. Pay a little more for a more trustworthy company. I should have known not to trust them when they ran my credit card for a $50 deposit before I confirmed the date of the move or whether I was going to use their services. Stay away - they quote you low prices to attract business because they're dishonest but then charge you as much as the other, presumably more honest, companies quote anyway. read more

Used Wolley movers for the first and only time on October 5th 2020. They took apart my storage bed and didn't reassemble it back correctly and broke the pins on the four storage drawers. They damaged a 4 month old leather couch and said 30 cents a pound offered me $50 for all the damage. He said his movers said this and that like they were being honest. The move was great but if you damage something own up to it, take responsibility and just fix or replace the damaged items. I will contacting the BBB and Attorney General to report this company if my stuff isn't repaired or replaced accordingly. When I told him that he stated "go ahead, we've been in business for 10 years and we will continue to be in business". I can show them better than I can tell them. You can't damage something and not take accountability. After this review the man had the AUDACITY to call me about this Yelp review after he so called tried to make things right! Oh I'm not done, if my stuff isn't repaired or taken care of you will see them on channel 7 ABC investigates and plenty more. I'm Lenny hat consumer that will get traction and action. Also as soon as they walked in immediately said I was quoted wrong and added another $400+ to my original quote. Joseph and his crew showed up a few minutes early and completed the move in three hours (quoted five hours). They were polite and honest (an iPod fell out of a box and they returned it). They didn't complain even though we moved from the fourth floor of a building to another fourth story walk up. They even told us to stop helping! Joseph and his crew are the best! read more

I am writing to tell everyone about my experience just trying to schedule/pay/confirm a move. I have lived in Chicago for 5 yrs and have moved 3 times. I chose Wolley Movers after an initial call when I asked for a quote on yelp. I got a quote from over 10 companies and choose Wolley Movers. I received a quote in an email that I chose to go with on a Saturday which I informed them I would call on Monday with a credit card to pay. I called back on Monday about 10 am and the women I spoke with said it wasn't available. I understood that and chose another time. Over the next hour, the quote changed and prices increases based off of me forgetting 1 piece of furniture. My credit card got ran then the second quote came in an email. I called back and canceled which took me 5 phone calls. I ended up going with another mover who confirmed the time, confirmed date and gave me a quote that would stay even if I forgot to mention I had or didn't have a coffee table. I will never try them again just based on the customer experience locking in a day/time/ and the girl I worked with on the phone. read more

Avoid this company like the plague! They use referral websites to give quotes, and then when you call with the quote ID, it is nearly $200 more than a website they list and advertise on. Then when I questioned Elizabeth about it, she becomes rude and says that it's premium rates since it's the last day of the month. I get that, but you should also honor your pricing from a website that you list with. Poor customer service and could be the reason why they have such open availability. read more

Me: Blocked off street with cones; had cash ready (no checks accepted, extra % for CC use); trimmed bushes between door & street; disconnected washer & dryer, coiled up hoses and taped to side; removed screen door piston to allow door to completely open & eliminate hip-high obstruction; bungee cord around door to keep open; cell phone charged; pictures taken before arrival; keys to both places in pocket; second person at destination in case truck arrived before me, met/directed truck outside at both locations. Wolley: Reasonable cost; quote emailed; verification call day before; on time; truck arrived with a ramp and sized for job; fast; carried heavy items over door threshold as requested instead of rolling; true to quote; professional. read more

Watch out for this one! They will rip & jip you all the way to the bank. First, they allege they take credit cards then on moving day, they advise you their machines are down and you have to pay cash. Secondly, they charged an additional $100 because we did not give them the exact amount of boxes they were moving. They said they should have had three men versus two men, therefore, we owed an additional $100.00. Honestly, there was very little to be moved and they do work slower at the end of the move. Thirdly, they were attempting to hi-jack a mattress (leaving in the truck) forcing payment of additional fees, and for more than $100.00. It was like the mattress was being held hostage/kidnapped for a ransom fee. Fourth, I attempted to pay with credit card but they refused acceptance and sat on the clock another 30 minutes, then took credit card. This was an Act of Congress! Fifth, when attempting to discuss the matter with their office, the movers spoke to the office in Spanish so therefore I could not understand anything they were saying even though they could speak English. Finally, they also broke a plastic (less than one pound) gaming rack (but was NOT a cheap item to purchase). If you don't want to be seriously ripped off, find a reputable mover and always get your contract iron clad before anyone loads your items onto a moving truck. After that, you are at there mercy. Erick, Jose, and Brandon moved us into our new apartment yesterday and we couldn't have been happier. We were moving from a 1st floor walk-up to a 3rd floor walk-up, had quite a few boxes and a few large pieces of furniture, and they got the entire thing done in about 2 hours. They took care when moving items, wrapped and protected what need protecting, and asked us where we wanted items as they brought them in. We've unpacked just about everything now, and have yet to find a broken item. On another note, these were 3 of the most polite guys we've ever met. They asked politely before helping themselves to the soda we put out for them, asked permission to use the bathroom (and even washed their hands!!), they were well-spoken and very hard-working. They did show up half an hour late, but Wolley HQ informed us that there was some traffic. They were careful to start their "work-time" when they actually began working, which was shocking for a moving company. Greatly appreciated. All in all, 5-star service from Wolley. This was our first time using a moving company, and we were a nervous wreck ahead of time. No need. They were great. read more

Not terribly pleased with these guys. They originally quoted us $600 for a move of a 2 bd/2 bath city condo, out to the suburbs. Total price came in above $1000, as they charged us for a TON of packing materials. We had the place pretty well packed before they arrived...how can you use 18 rolls of packing tape?? So keep an eye on that... Additionally, there were pretty rough with some of our stuff. The usual dings and dents from moving are to be expected, but they completely destroyed a suitcase of ours that had been packed with clothes. These guys were obviously rougher on that suitcase than the airport baggage handlers...if that tells you anything. read more

My two roommates and I needed last minute movers, and happened to stumble onto Wolley Movers' website. With little to no knowledge of their company, we booked them and sort of hoped for the best. Not only did they show up exactly on time (which may not seem like a big deal - but I have had terrible experience with other movers who showed up 4 hours late), but they were extremely professional and efficient. They moved us out of a three bedroom high-rise into another three bedroom walk-up in the city in exactly three hours! We couldn't believe how quickly our move went, especially since they were thorough in wrapping our big/fragile furniture. Incredible. These guys were fantastic yesterday. We moved from an elevator high rise(1br) to a 2br 2nd floor walk up. Including the 20 min travel time, they still were done in under 3 hours. None of them complained about anything, and they were very nice and careful with our stuff. When we moved last time, we didn't hire anyone and we couldn't even unload our truck in 3 hours. If I could give these guys 0 stars I would. I've used Wolley Movers in the past, but this time they have been one of the worst moving companies that I've ever dealt with. I have so many complaints about this move and the office's lack of helpfulness has been some of the worst. The movers were supposed to arrive between 4 and 6pm on are prearranged move-out date. I called the week of to confirm they would arrive on time and was told they would. OK great I thought. I mentioned on the phone that I would have a few additional items than were previously discussed (5 additional boxes and a desk). Apparently these additional items would have added on an extra hour. They arrived 45 minutes late which is a hindrance if you're moving in any Chicago building and have to reserve elevator times. They were late and blamed it on booking them at the end of the day. Ok so if you're going to use them, then only book them in the morning. The movers arrived late and I had to call my management company and let them know that I would be running over at my current place and my new place. I was on the phone with the office multiple times during that time period and they kept telling me that it was my fault for thinking they would arrive between the allotted time slots. When the movers showed up, I had to run up and down because we had gone over our move and during this one of the movers shrink wrapped all my furniture without even asking me--that was an extra nearly $100 charge. But of course it says it on the contract initially, but really beware of this. The movers will not even ask you and will just charge you day off. The movers left without giving me a chance to look at the apartment before and to my dismay, when I walked up to lock up, I saw that they had left my TV. Luckily I have a car, so I was able to move it the next day, but if I didn't I would have been even more pissed. In the aftermath of all of this, dealing with the management company was the worst. they never returned phone calls, they never responded to emails. They did refund me $50, but I had gotten fined by the new building for running over the time slot (I was fined A LOT more than that). It was a complete sh$%show. If you say OK to a time slot, apparently at the end of the month and are planning on moving, the management guy told me that means that I should be reserving the elevator all day. I don't know what high rise building in CHicago has you reserve the elevator all day, but never again will I use this company. Do yourself a favor and just go with another company. Dealing with people who know how to run a better company and actually respond to customers will save you a ton of stress in the long run. read more

I used Wolley Movers to move myself and my (then) future roommate into our new pad on the same day. They picked her stuff up first in Bucktown, then my stuff in West Lakeview. Our new apartment is in Wrigleyville on the 4th floor with no elevator. The crew of 3 guys moved us both all the way up hallfway to heaven in just over 3 hours. They showed up on time, worked fast and efficiently and the charge for packing supplies was very minimal. They wouldn't let us lift a finger! I would use this company again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone. All of my things were moved safe and sound and that is the most important thing. If I could give them a zero I would. I have never seen such inept movers. They seemed confused. They sent 4 guys even though I only requested 2. I only had a couple items of furniture to move since all the boxes had already been moved. They showed up about 40 minutes late then tried to bill me for that time. They were rough with my furniture. The only reason I hired them was for the furniture and they showed up with no tools to disassemble. They were rude and of questionable character. I have used movers many times. My sister and brother in law were in the military and I would fly to where they were located and help with the moving process. So I think I have assisted in a dozen or more moves over the years and have never seen such lazy, unqualified, rude and disrespectful movers read more

Stay away from Wolly Movers if you want an accurate estimate and fast repair. This would be a one star review if Wolly Movers' moving team wasn't so fastidious and polite, however their main office customer service is terrible. Their phone-based audit for estimating our move was grossly incorrect. They estimated our move of a standard two bedroom flat apartment to take 5 hours and in the end it was over 10 hours. This is a price difference was over $600 (not including the extra tip). As this was our first time hiring movers we had no idea how long to expect. When the moving team showed up they were truly taken aback by the amount of belongings we had (just normal stuff folks, we're not hoarders). Time and time again the movers would tell us how much stuff we had and how they had to cancel their next move. How they needed a bigger truck and how long the move would take. It really felt like they were blaming us for having too many things instead of their inaccurate estimating process. There has to be a more accurate way to estimate. As in most moves, there was some collateral damage for which we contacted Wolly. They ignored our first call. On our second call they gave us a few options to have a repair person come by. When none of those fit in our schedule they said they would call us back with more times. When they never reached out and we called a third time they insisted that they had given us an appointment (for which we had never been available) and we were the ones who never confirmed. We expressed our frustration which was met with defensiveness and resulted in a scheduled appointment for the repairs - which turned out as a no show by their repair person. We are fed up and still have damaged drywall and a broken kitchen island. Beware. read more

Gave me a quote for 3 hrs which we had plenty of time but yet and up charge for addl $$$ in wrapping up a few furniture item almost double my orgl quote. And of course they don't tell you this until at the very end. First and last. I'm very disappointed. And they only want cash and yet on paper it said one thing and actual money in cash I paid them is another thing. Very dishonest I think. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE. I recently hired Wolley Movers for a move this past weekend in May of 2021. The movers showed up nearly an hour late, without a call to me to let me know, despite only having a 3 hour elevator reservation to move out all my belongings. Not only would they not move half of my items from a small studio apartment, but they severely damaged my extremely expensive Eames chair beyond repair, and two large boxes were missing as well. We were promised 4 movers instead of three for the inconvenience. There was never a 4th mover. They will not take responsibility for the missing items and extreme damage to my chair. I just received awful calls from the company, not only the receptionist, but the lead mover as well, who hung up on me after screaming at me over the phone and saying I signed a contract so they should not be held liable for my missing and damaged items. This is after $500+ of two hours of their time and a tip (without realizing the damage), as well as an additional service charge for paying by credit card. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

We scheduled our moving date with the company and they promised to use 4-5 movers for the job, as it was a move from the 19th floor to a third-floor walk-up. When the day arrived they showed up with three movers and had already completely exhausted when arriving at the second location. What happened was a total disaster of not laying out floor mats to protect our just refinished antique floors. So they left two deep scratches, lost one entire box with kitchen tools and reacted absolutely reluctant to compensate/recognize any of the damages. One of the workers kept harassing me regarding a pair of headphones that he lost and presumed I had stolen it. After dozens of phone calls and treats, I got them to pay $500 as compensation. All this to say -- don't even think about using this bunch of amateurs! read more

Setting up the move was very smooth, Eric and his crew were very fast and my truck was packed in half the time quoted. When I arrived, I noticed that a lot of my furniture was scratched because the movers had packed the truck fairly carelessly.
