We ordered veggie burger from burger baby and lentil soup from Dabba Indian Kitchen. Both were very good. The burger was meaty and hearty, could taste beets. The soup was very flavorful and thick, very filling. When you pick up the order a greeter is there to ask for your name and locate your takeaway bag behind them, very friendly and welcoming. read more

I love this concept a lot. There are 24 Wonder restaurants where you can order from. We ordered twice in a week. Love the no delivery fees! There are some celebrity chef's concepts here, such as Bobby Flay Steak, Marcus Samuelsson, Michael Symon, and others. My favorite number one dish is their butter chicken. This has to be one of the best ones out there- I was so surprised how flavorful and spicy it was. We ordered this twice. My daughters loved the cupcake duo by Magnolia Bakery (NYC fame). Other favorites were the Yasas build your own bowl (the portion size is huge! This was enough for two meals), beef brisket and Rigatoni alla Vodka. Wonder recently opened in North Bethesda, and they are definitely a welcomed addition to the area. You can order online through their app/website or in person at the kiosk. I really like how there are so many vendors to choose from (could be overwhelming, though!) - definitely something for everyone here. If you decide to dine in, there are a few tables for you to enjoy your meal. I ordered the M's Spiced Wings Combo from Streetbird, which came with 6 wings, a side, and drink. The wings were pretty standard - nothing memorable, even with the hot maple chili sauce. I really did enjoy the mac & greens, though. This is a must side here! I've seen many of these pop up in the DMV area and when I saw this finally open up in North Bethesda, I had to try it! I ordered the Baked by Melissa's Sesame Soba salad by the Wonder restaurant "Royal Greens" and within 10 minutes, I received a text that my order was ready. My salad was fresh, very delicious, and left me quite full! I appreciate how nicely it was packed - presentation is neat and clean. Also, they always have discount codes available and coupons you can stack to save a bunch on meals. There is limited seating for those who want to eat there, but I'd imagine it would be difficult finding a table on a busy night. My partner and I stopped in today as part of the soft opening. We ordered online this morning, requesting the food be ready for pick-up between 12:30 - 1:00 pm. At 12:23 pm, I received a text that the food was being prepared and at 12:39 pm another text that the food was ready. We arrived and were warmly greeted by a worker, who located our take-out bag and handed it to me. We decided to eat in. The location is small, with only 3 sit-down tables and a row of stools. It's well lit and there are two bathrooms. We ordered from 5 different shops, just to see how it worked. I ordered Build your Own salad from Pop Salad, Chicken Souvlaki from Chios Taverna, Hot and Sour soup from Kin House, Hummus and Pita from Yasas and bottles of water from Di Fara Pizza. Everything was in the bag, well packaged and labeled. Honestly, the food was very good. The salad was fresh and big, with chunks of moist chicken and tasty dressings. The soup was good, with mushrooms and water chestnuts and a tasty broth. The pita and hummus were a nice appetizer, the hummus being smooth and flavorful. The souvlaki was good, although my partner commented that the tzatziki sauce was a bit messy. The water was . . . water. (And cold as it should be!) Overall, I'm impressed with this and I like the concept of being able to get a variety of foods for pick-up or delivery from the same place at the same time. The prices seem reasonable. read more

We visited Wonder during their soft opening. I used a promo code to enjoy $15 off your order. I ordered the chicken sandwich and onion rings from Streetbird and the banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. My husband ordered drunken noodles with chicken. Unfortunately, the onion rings were cold when we arrived. I thought I was going to receive a text when my order was ready, but I never received anything. The order was on the shelf when we arrived. The flavor was still good. The hostess was very friendly when we walked in asking if we needed help ordering or if we had already placed an order. She eagerly helped us find our names on the shelf. The banana pudding is frozen and it recommends thawing for 2 to 3 hours in the fridge before enjoying. Plenty of parking and they have a few tables inside as well as a row of barstools. It seems well positioned for grab and go. They had a TV screen where you could look for your name for the delivery drivers. It would be nice if they added a few tables outside. Let me start by saying I come w low expectations considering low ratings for overall Wonder branches in DMV. It is interesting to see big names, including some iron chefs listed as the participated vendors. I guess the idea is to introduce more 'affordable fast dining experience' w Wonder concept. I'd have to say that it is odd not to see vendors cooking and no food smell to entice customers. -Marcus Samuelsson's chicken sandwich is lacking presentation, but it is under $7. -Michael Symon's spread has very nice flavor. This is the question that occupied my mind as I waited for my order at Wonder North Bethesda (I still think it's Rockville - their website gives their address as Rockville, just sayin'). We ordered the M's Fried Chicken Sandwich Deluxe from StreetBird, Shrimp Fried Rice from Kin House, and Detroit Pizza from Detroit Brick Pizza Co. A little bit of everything, and from separately decent restaurants, to boot. This is a great idea! The fried rice was nicely cooked, plump shrimp, plenty of vegetables and slightly crispy rice. The chicken sandwich was divine - that Marcus Samuelsson knows how to cook a bird. And the Detroit Pizza was decent - the sauce was a little watery, but overall the meal hit all the spots just right. We will be visiting Wonder again because there are plenty of dishes from many other restaurants to try. read more

We decided to try "wonder" on a whim based on that it had a neat concept. That is where we should have stopped as it falls short. If you Google what wonders about the food is premade in a commissary and then sent to the Restaurant. I ordered a cheesesteak and the meat was fatty I made it a combo and the fries were not edible. They were cold!! I will never be going back. The service was good and the ambience is pretty stark. I feel sorry for the chefs who put their name behind the food as it's really awful. The butter chicken curry had a bit of spice to it and very flavorful. Service was a little lacking in the sense that our order was already ready and we were standing there waiting on them to put it on the shelf. If you want Texas bbq this is the place - the brisket was tender and fell apart as I scooped it out of the delicious yellow bbq sauce and the ribs...meaty and very tender and the char from the grill made them very tasty - loved it - well packaged - all the sauces were contained well and plenty of utensils - great surprise and they are a go to! Absolutely the worst experience. Out of 3 meals in our order, the pasta dish was cold and the cheese was congealed into a sad lump. The fork literally lifted the entire contents of the bowl and the pasta retained the circular shape of the container. The Thai rice bowl was like a bland paste. Spice? If they even showed the bowl a chili pepper it would have been nice. Whatever the sauce used in the dish is not remotely Thai. There were no vegetables of any kind to be found. The beef rubbery and tasteless. I encourage any Thai food enthusiast to try this mess and confirm that I'm not making this up. The Wonder concept is creative but in practice doesn't work. There is no server to point out that the food is cold, to ask for Thai spices to be brought to the table, or provide feedback. You pay restaurant prices and get frozen food aisle meals. Never again. There's too many excellent Thai, Italian and every other sort of restaurants in Rockville. Don't waste time here. read more

I wasn't going to leave a negative review until Wonder Bread just cancelled my Uber order after over an hour, and I live 1.5 miles away. Did they run out of burgers? Did Uber assign four different drivers for a reason? Beyond the food, I doubt the management and people who created this establishment are any better. Look at the reviews across all locations. Not real food. The Thai Green Curry was horrible . . . I threw it out. The only thing that tasted real was the small wedge of lime, the tomatoes and the kaffir leaves. The chicken, I believe, was 1) lab grown? 2) synthetic? 3) lowest quality chicken available. The sauce was terrible and had a strong flavor of chemicals. I was not given a knife to cut up the chicken which was plunked into the sauce whole. I was given a spoon, fork and chop sticks. WHO EATS THAI FOOD WITH CHOP STICKS??? I should start this review by saying there is nothing bad about this place. You can't really go wrong with anything here more or less. But this only gets 3 stars for this reason. Just because there's nothing bad, doesn't mean its good. The only saving grace this place has, is that its open until 11:30 every night which is great when most places close at 10 around this area. Covid made a mess of the late night dining opportunities in this area and most areas i think. If you have no options late, that this is the place to go. However, if other things are open, for the same price, you could get way better food. I've ordered about 5 times from here and have gotten a sense of what many of the dishes are like. 1. Poki. Its okay. The fish on the poke is not 100% fresh. It tastes like its been out for a while. Its not bad, just..meh. You can do better for the same price at other poke places like the Spot, Poki DC and Pike Kitchen. 2. Truffle Burger. Again, mediocre. For the same price, or maybe a dollar more, go to Smash Burgers for a better truffle burger. Burger in general, Z-Burger in Bethesda and Olney close at midnight (or later on the weekends). 3. Limesalt. Tried their bowl. Ooof, for the same price, go to Chiopotle. You'll get a MUCH better experience and fresher ingredients. The guacamole had barely any flavor. The rest of the dish was very bland and had no real flavor. I could not finish it. 4. Butter Chicken. This was not bad. It fulfilled the butter chicken craving i had...BUT, there is no reason to get it here. There are plenty of Indian places that sell a far superior dish at or below the price they charge here. As for timing, Mama Joons in Olney is open until Midnight (2am on weekends) and they sell an amazing Butter Chicken for the same price. But for the same price, its probably double the serving size as its two meals for me. 5. Detroit Brick Oven Pizza. This was not bad. If you're in the mood for Detroit style pizza then you would not be disappointed here. Since there really isn't an option that I have found to compare. I will amend if i do. Edit: Adding 6. Brisket which i just got for lunch. I keep going back because they give a bunch of promos. The combo came out to 25 bucks, which is Brisket, a side and a drink. This retail price is a little high considering I can get a Brisket combo with drink and side at Mission BBQ down the street for 20. If you were to compare this with Mission, then Mission wins hands down. However, Mission has the unfortunate habit of closing at 9. So after that time, this is a perfect good substitute if you're craving decent BBQ after hours. The ONLY thing I found that was amazing, is their garlic fries. But at 7 bucks a pop, not sure if its worth it when there are other fries you can get elsewhere that are just as good (but probably not better). Bottom line, this place does a lot of stuff in a mediocre fashion. Its convenience food because its open and available, but only till 11:30 which is somewhat commendable as many places come close. (Chipotle closes at 11:00) There are other places that open later and offer a far superior option if you're in the mood for that specific food type. I suspect other things on the menu will feel the same if my sampling of the food is any indication. I love brisket. I've been to Texas about 20 times and always wondered why we can't do brisket up here like they do down there. Closest thing for my tastebuds has been Mission which, for it's "genre" I give five stars. I gave Wonder four. For contrast, Urban bbq usually got a 2 or 3 at best. Some of the non-chain places around just aren't as good as Mission to me. I love their fatty brisket. At Wonder you can't choose lean or fatty brisket but it was fatty enough to be yummy. Salty but not too salty - yummy. Great tenderness and flavor overall. Smoky but not as smoky as Mission. Portion seemed smaller than Mission but I didn't do any quantitative analysis (see pic for qualitative observation). Slaw was great both eaten by fork and as a brisket sandwich topping - not too mayonaissy, not vinegary, not too sweet. The veggies shined. Pickles were good quality, hot and sweet, good crunch. They only give you three sauces, my fave of the three was the Carolina mustardy sauce which surprised me because of the six sauces they put on your table at Mission it's my least favorite. I will eat at Wonder again both the bbq place (Tejas) and other places because the food quality was good, service was friendly and quick. But until I move to Texas, Mission is still my primary go-to for brisket. read more
