I am really....unnerved by this owner's tone deaf approach to professionalism and his dishonesty. Not once did I state my own political preferences to this man or argue with him. This is a place of business and, as such, I do not care to hear about his political views any more than he cares to hear about mine. I also spoke to the owner on the phone before driving down from Fallbrook and knew the price of the repair BEFORE attempting to drop off my sweater. The owner choosing to try and paint me as too poor for his service shows a lack of integrity and feels very on brand for him. A few years back I bought a pair of designer dress pants from Nordstrom's Rack at a great price, which needed to be shortened and a hole in the pocket needed to be repaired. The pair were shortened at my favorite tailor's years later before I started working for my current employer. As for fixing the hole, my mom had found this business that does reweaving of holes in clothes. I had leftover material from the tailors that I sent for the weavers to use. It's always preferred to have a sample or piece of the apparel fabric that this guy can use to do the repair. (Always good to save the packets or scraps of fabric that come with high end clothes in cases like this.) You pay half when you drop off the item then the remaining balance when you pick it up. I was amazed since it didn't look like there was ever a hole in these pants. They did a great job and if I had a repair that was needed while I was in San Diego, I'd trust these guys. read more

One of the very few talented weavers period. It is nearly impossible to find a place that will repair wools or knits the correct way. Dry cleaners more often than not will just repair sweater holes with a regular thread instead of replicating the actual knit. I had a sweater repaired here and the job was outstanding. It meant a lot to get it fixed and I was so happy I went to Wonder Weaver instead of getting the dry cleaner to do it. Make sure you get your knits done well before sweater weather. I had my cashmere sweater repaired here and the work was impeccable. I was worried that the weave might be a little crooked because the sweater has horizontal stripes and the hole was right next to the transition from one color to the next, but you cannot even tell there was ever a defect or repair done. Stan did an amazing job fixing six big moth holes in a very very expensive muslin Commes des Garcons jacket I need for a job interview. He went wayyyyyyyy over the call of duty, took care of a few extra holes I missed and got it done earlier than expected all for a reasonable price. Keep in mind that true re-weaving is a skilled, labor intensive job and there are very few folks in the entire state that know how to do it well. I have used Wonder Weavers periodically over the last 3O years. It's the go to place when I've ever had damage to a garment. Stan is an artist. You literally cannot see where the repair was made. A hole in my kilt brought me to Wonder Weavers this time. My Pipe band had a performance coming up and I needed the kilt in a hurry. Stan is The Man!!! I was horrified to find that my 1940s vintage wool dress, which I inherited from my great-aunt, had a big moth hole front and center, recently. Coulda sworn I put it in the bag, but I didn't. Having lived in North Park most of my life, I have seen the Wonder Weavers sign for years. Jumped on Yelp and, after reading the glowing reviews, felt if anyone could help, Stan could. Oh happy dance. Less than 2 weeks later I have my dress back; good as it was before the moth had lunch. Had Stan not marked exactly where he rewove the fabric I honestly would have no idea, and I am very critical. TBH I wasn't expecting miracles, just to make it wearable again, but he seemingly waved a magic wand over the hole. Even in bright sun, I cannot see the mend. I had brought my suite to be pressed at the shop where I purchased it and I noticed some unsavory critters had snacked on it while it was packed away for the past year and a half. They recommended I go to Wonder Weavers to see if anything could be done. Not only was it done but it was done very well and in unbelievably record time. I was leaving to head back to Guam where we are stationed in a few days.
