I've gone here a few times throughout the years for minor alterations and feel ambivalent about the service. I would go somewhere else if I had more time for these kinds of errands. Pros: very convenient location and hours such that I can stop by after work or on Saturdays. I live in NP and there aren't many other options nearby. Cons: disorganized and lacks attention to detail. I have had issues more often than not. For example, I'd asked for a bridesmaid dress to be shortened from floor length to cocktail length, and I asked to keep the extra fabric (for a wedding-related project) but the shop did not reserve the fabric for me. Then, I'd dropped off a pair of pants for hemming and to patch a small tear. The pants were not ready when I went to pick up, and when I came back, they had not patched the tear. Most recently, I needed a pair of jeans hemmed. The right leg came back about a half inch shorter than the left, which doesn't seem like a lot but they are wide-legged pants and so one leg perfectly skims the ground while the other skims the top of my shoe. FYI: a hem job cost $20 and it's cash only! read more

I had to get a bridesmaid dress altered off the length. I came in on a Thursday, and he said he could get it to me by next Wednesday. They only take cash so it was ~50 for that work. I'm not familiar with pricing, but that's what he quoted me! I came back on the Thursday after the Wednesday he told me to come, and he wasn't ready yet. He said if I could come later that night he would have it done, but I didn't want him to push himself so much! So I said I would come the next day. He did have it ready on the Friday I came back. This past week a sibling of mine passed away and we needed to leave less than 48 hours later to travel. I called (on the day he was closed) and he came in with my old work slacks I haven't worn since I retired 6 years ago. The next day it was raining and I couldn't find parking. Dropped off a pair of jeans to get the zipper fixed. He had them for three weeks and didn't do anything with it even though he said it would only take one week. It was only when I came in to find out what was going on that he told me he needs to buy a zipper. It's just a pair of jeans so I obviously don't need them super urgently, but the fact that he had them for so long and didn't do anything is mind boggling. The least he could have done is call me and ask if I want to wait for him to buy the zipper. Or, don't tell me you can do it and will get it done in a week when you don't even have the right materials. Got the feeling that if I had never gone in to check he would have just kept them forever.
