    Front of stall~

Cantonese style food court booth in Richmond Public Market. Parking is available in the parkade next to the building. The selection here is a bit lacking compared to the competition (Tony's, Lee Chong). This place seems to have more fried items, if that is your thing. For the 3 item combo, they put the 3rd item in a separate container, so one does indeed get more food.

    Deep fried squid

I only got one thing here, which was deep fried squid, small size. I didn't realize it at the time but it costs extra for squid, so make sure you're reading the prices right! The squid was good but not as tender as I would like for my soft mouth. They really overfill your cup, which is great. I think it could have used a little more seasoning. Service was normal and there's no ambience as it's just located in a food court. At the time I went (around 4pm) there were plenty of seats to go around.

Taiwanese fried chicken and sweet and sour pork

Wonder Wok is located in the Richmond Public Market food court. Pricing is about the same as the other stalls ($9.50 for 2 items + rice) but I like that they have a pretty decent version of Taiwanese popcorn chicken! The sweet and sour pork had a bit too much batter though but generally food is solid. They even threw in a few pieces of broccoli and lotus root on top.

Ordered their small calamari and crab and omg!!! They are THE BEST. I love seafood as it is and I love it even more now . Wish they have a location in Surrey though because it's a wee bit of a drive and parking at the public market parking area is not the safest because nobody's kind enough to let other people pass or go in and out of their spot.

3 items over rice: pork chops, roasted chicken, and eggplant stir fry
    Henry G.

Loads of food for a reasonable price, but mediocre flavor. - battered pork chop: 3.5/5 light batter with tender pork. Just a touch of salt to balance out the oily batter. - eggplant stir fry: 2/5 pretty saucy, over cooked, and lack of flavor - roasted chicken: 3/5 basic roasted chicken. Nothing special. - free soup: 1/5 water oil and a couple chunks of vegetable. Opt for the free tea instead. Worth it? Mostly yes, for the price, you get a ton of food and rice with lots of options to choose from. Stick to the fried items.

Weeknight, what's for food? Hmmmm how about go to the Richmond Public Market food court for some Asian delights? $20 bucks will get you about 4 large containers of whatever they have on display for take out. Today, it was steamed fish with preserved vegetables, Fresh green beens in brown bean sauce and ground pork meatballs with onions and black bean sauce. The last dish I ordered was the soya sauce chicken which was juicy! At most other take out Chinese food court places the food has been sitting and at this place when the time was right, I got everything fresh and tasty. My family was most impressed with the chicken. The fish was a good dish but it was a bit smelly because of the preserved vegetables. The pork meatballs were very very good. My stepfather liked them very much. And for me, the green beans was delectable, crisp, but cooked and flavourful. Wonder Wok has a good assortment and if you can get past all the flashy places on your way accross the mall, you'll be happy you made it there. I have gotten chowmein, fried rice and chop suey for larger party take outs which they will also do for you at a good competitive price.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

No frills and worth the hype!…read more Our family of six arrived at 12 pm on a Tuesday. We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. This is definitely a place to repeat if and when we revisit Vancouver.

They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

What we ordered: Limited Gigantic snow crab 3lb with salted egg yolk sauce - highly recommended by staff Seafood fried rice Baked large beach oyster with four unique flavors. Highlight was definitely snow crab! Salted egg yolk sauce was great as usual, crab meat was so tender and sweet! I am glad to follow staff's advice. Presentation was good, too. Rice cake was chewy, soft and paired with sauce so well and so addictive. Seafood fried rice was also great! Clam was so juicy and delicious! prawn was nicely firm and very good. Ingredients were outstanding. And Baked beach oyster was also great item. Oyster paired with each unique different flavor(Forgot to ask what kinds of each flavor..), Oyster itself was very large and creamy. Highly recommend this item, too. Overall, our revisit to Fishman was another great experience. Restaurant was packed, No doubt this restaurant is very popular for long time.

Throughout our visit, the waitress directed almost all of her attention to my husband. She explained everything to him in detail while barely acknowledging me. I was left to read the menu and figure out what to order on my own. I also noticed the same behavior at other tables. She spoke primarily to the men while largely ignoring the women. Even after I placed the entire order for our table, she continued checking only with my husband about everything we needed. When it came to drinks, after the two men had placed their orders, she didn't even ask me if I wanted anything before walking away, as if I were invisible. At the end of the meal, after I paid the bill, she turned to my husband, smiled only at him, and completely ignored me. It was extremely impolite and made me feel disrespected. The food was good, but the service was the worst part of the experience. Based on how I was treated, it felt discriminatory. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every customer is treated with equal respect.

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.
