I have been there several times. Never get same person cutting my hair. This time had a woman named Judith. I wear my hair fairly long and asked for just an inch off the sides and make the rest a bit shorter. After the first whack on the sides of at least 1.5 inches she kept cutting more on each side to even things up. When all said and done I've not had my hair this short since the 6th grade. I got butchered and now not happy having to probably wait 6 weeks for things to grow out. read more

Well my wife normally comes here and recommended them so I thought I give them a try. I have been here once before but today I thought let me introduce my son to this place since he has recently moved to the area. I walked in at 3:20 pm and made sure I checked the closing time before coming which said 4 pm online. The lady up front (older gray hair) asked me how can we help you. I said me and my son would like a cut. She immediately said no we're closed. I was confused because I looked at my phone and it read 3:20 pm. I said you're closed ? She said yes! I said it says you close at 4 pm online. The younger lady who was already cutting someone's hair said we can help you but was also confused because the older lady kept telling me we're closed. Mind you there was another lady with the older lady at the front desk which makes two available stylist and another one who was already cutting someone's hair. So I then asked again so you can't help us ? She paused and went and asked the other available person and came back and said well we can do 1. I said so it's 3:20 and you can't do us both even though you have two available stylist. She said no just one. I turned the offer down because I didn't feel it was right that we had 49 min till closing and nobody really wanted to help us. With that said my wife, 3 daughters myself and my son will probably be searching for a friendlier place. Trust me I'd totally understand if I walked in 5 min before closing and did this but come on we were there 40 min before closing with nobody in front of us and then just standing there. read more

I'm not sure of the spelling, but I have always had wonderful service with Elaina/Alaina. She listens to what I want, confirms and then she works her magic to make me feel Beautiful! Most recently, I went in for a highlight retouch and unfortunately, I saw a different stylist... My hair was orange and I left in tears Thankfully, I went back and was able to see Elaina/Alania. She took the time to hear me and scheduled me for a same day appointment. Upon my return, she already had a plan in place and was able to correct and elevate my highlights at no charge!!! Just took my som to get a haircut and man, I'm so disappointed! He got a haircut by this butt young guy and he looked like he didn't even want to be there. Told him to cut the sides and he decided to cut it with a number two which needed to bring it down to a number one. When I told him he seamed annoyed. The final product was not to my satisfaction. The line that separates the top part of the hair and the sides went low on the from and high on the back. Dang! I would want my son to start his first day of school with such a bad haircut. I didn't want him to make it worse so I didn't say anything, just paid and left. Not going back with him. On the Positive side: The rest of the crew was very happy and awesome! The stylist shamed my kid throughout her hair cut, muttering things under her breath about how snarled her hair was (that's why we came in, for help with her hair). My kid was in terrible pain for days after and refuses to go back to any hair salon now. The hair cut was also super crooked and jagged. This place is unprofessional and rude. My stylist burned me with a curling iron and it left a mark. They still made me pay and when I tried to reason with them they didn't even listen to me and pushed me out the doors and locked the door behind me. I hope no one else come to this dump they call a salon. Okay...I have no idea where to start, so I guess I'll start from the beginning. My 16 year old son made an appointment to have his hair permed here. Great, they confirmed they could see us today at 3pm. We headed over and got situated with the details of the perm. First red flag should've been that the "stylist" they set my son with didn't seem confident in her skills, as she kept asking for advice in the back office on how to complete the perm. Okay, fine, so she needed some encouragement. Second red flag should've been that she was prepared to cut his hair BEFORE placing the perm rods in his hair. I am not a cosmetologist, but even I know that you cut it AFTER. Okay, so at this point, my stomach is not settled, but I give the stylist the benefit of the doubt and I leave my son so that I can run some errands. In a matter of THREE hours (this should've been an hour to an hour and a half, tops), I check in with my son at the salon many times. The final time I checked in with him to ask him how it was going (via text) and his response to me was "they forgot the neutralizer." I've attached the text thread for your pleasure. At this point, I thought to myself, is he kidding me? What? So, I head into the salon and OF COURSE, the stylist and her co-worker begin to make all kinds of round about excuses "we accidentally forgot the neutralizer," blah, blah, blah. Okay, so I'm trying not to get angry at this point, because I don't want to cause a scene, but I am VERY angry. For those that don't know please google why this is a CRUCIAL step to any perm. So, in the midst of this conversation, the co-worker proceeds to tell me that the owner is busy, or not able to talk to me, or whatever the heck excuse she gave as to why she couldn't place me in touch with her owner...but, she was available via text (that's how they had been communicating the ENTIRE time I'm speaking to the co-worker). That doesn't make sense to me at all. The co-worker proceeds to inform me that they are trying to "think of a solution," and states so many other things that I just can't even believe were stated. The worst part of all of this? I was asked to MAKE A $50 DEPOSIT for them to fix this issue! I was ASKED TO PAY FOR WHAT NOW? No, thank you. They couldn't even show me ANYWHERE that this was a policy. All of a sudden it's a $50 deposit? Why wasn't I asked that when I made TODAY'S appointment. Uh uh, nope, don't think so. My son refused to return to this "salon" (mind you the entire time my son is CRYING in my car b/c his hair is now DESTROYED!) Now, after going around in circles about a $50 dollar this or that, I asked that the owner CALL ME TO MAKE THIS RIGHT! Will she? Doubt it...okay, so last straw? On the way home, my son says to me "mom, they DID try and put neutralizer in my hair AFTER the girl realized she forgot it. She talked to her co-worker and asked her why my hair wasn't holding a curl, and why it felt dry. Her friend asked her if she forgot the neutralizer and she said yes. So she tried to put it in my hair after she wet it and it didn't work." Are.you.kidding.me. This made a crappy situation, even crappier (again, please google what forgetting neutralizer does to a perm, or adding it after that fact). So, now I am EVEN more angry than before, once my son tells me this. So, my recommendation? Stay far, far, far away from this salon....at least if you're interested in getting a perm. I really hope, JENNIFER, the owner calls me to make this right, especially now that my son has major damage to his beautiful hair. Oey vey. read more

She couldn't make the styling work the first time and then did ringlets which I looked like an idiot and had to go to a big formal party that night. I paid a lot of money for nothing. I have natural very curly bouncy hair . Not every barber knows how to cut it properly. I'm new to the area, so I was not comfortable choosing a new place. So I called this place, before making an appointment and asked, Do you have someone who can cut curly hair ? They said yes, So I believed them and went there today. The lady butchered my curls and gave me a very short haircut, I told her before we started only cut a bit and make it even all over my head. I got the shortest cut in over 40 years. There is a mouse of a woman named Jennifer who claims to be owner/ manager, yet she permits her loud mouthed, arrogant staff, who've yet to take any classes on customer service run the place. It's a joke. Just bc you dreamt of being a business owner doesn't mean that you are qualified or that you shall succeed. Appointments ignored, promises broken, 1 & 2 hour waits for haircuts. Really? Selfishly, I am hesitant to write a review because Wondercuts may be one of best kept secrets around. However, I am willing to take the risk to recognize the exceptional skills and qualities of my hair engineer /technician/artist Karla - put simply, Karla is a "Boss." I am an approximately 50 yo male who is lucky enough to still have hair to cut. I have very fine straight hair which is difficult to cut because it shows every cut made. Nonetheless, after evaluating my hair it became apparent that Karla knew exactly what to do and based on the end result that comment proved even more true. The first thing which impressed me about Karla is she doesn't take a one size fits all - assembly line approach to hair cuts. Karla never asked, "what number do you use?" That question refers to an electric trimmer attachment and the number on the attachment determines how short the trimmer will cut hair. That question in particular always causes me to cringe. For starters, I have no clue. Also, I know a "stylist" who is concerned with electric trimmer blade lengths is probably about to give me a cookie cutter bowl style haircut. After discussing my hair and determining what I wanted Karla went to work! Initially, Karla did use an electric trimmer to be time efficient. However, once that was done she used her shears like a pro. Karla also deployed texturizing shears to add some volume on top and to blend the sides. Moreover, during the pandemic I was bored and in the desert and thought maybe I should throw some highlights into my hair. The shelf display at CVS made it seem simple. Bruhs, yes it was a dicey decision for a 50ish yo bro to do on many fronts - I do other DIY (Home Depot) stuff so why not give my hair a try. Mid-life crisis - idk - I just wanted that sun kissed look .... and well, I got way more than I bargained for - fyi throwing some bleach into your hair and sitting by the pool works - for sure, but maybe a little too well. Yeah, I was totally blonde with a side helping of a "blorange" color in some areas. Once again, Karla to the rescue. Along with great cutting skills she knows color too. The other nice thing was having Karla professionally fix my hair color didn't break the bank either. Wondercuts definitely accepts walk-in clients, but the color issue wasn't gonna be an outpatient procedure. Therefore, Wondercuts allowed me to schedule an appt that would take longer than a usual cut Being able to schedule an appt was nice as it took the stress out of wondering how long I'd be waiting out of the question. Based on what Ive observed with other stylists and their respective clients at Wondercuts is the idea that it's not a one size fits all salon definitely held true. Over the course of my several visits to Wondercuts, I have observed fathers and sons getting their haircuts together, a mom taking her young son for a cut and a woman getting extensions put in and pretty much everything you would expect at a high end salon - but again the great thing is pricing is reasonable. Overall, in addition to being a super skilled stylist and colorist, Karla is great at conversing and can hold her own in a conversation. That makes the time go by quickly and lends itself to a better overall experience. I noticed other stylists at Wonderlcuts engaged in the same kind of banter with their clients as well. Had horrible work done a week ago. Bad color and bad cut. Called the manager, sent her photos, and she agreed it wasn't acceptable! I was surprised. A lot of managers will defend their staff when mistakes are made. I was fully prepared to demand a refund and go elsewhere to try to get my hair fixed, but because I appreciated the managers response I agreed to go back in and have a different stylist correct things. So glad I did! I left there very happy with the final results. Thank you Elena for spending like 4+ hours today making things right. I will be back. read more
