Very unprofessional and straight up disrespectful because I view my hair as something sacred to me, and to completely ignore my request and cutting my hair pretty much to a buzz cut when it was around 6-7 inches long is purely outrageous. Not happy with the young man doing my hair. My color didn't turn out-I said something to him and he redid my hair. Mistakes can happen but I was there over 3 hours. I left without getting my hair cut and styled. After he put the second color on he told me to sit there for 20 minutes and walked away to do someone else's hair cut. I waited well over 30 minutes. As soon as one of the ladies finished with her clients I called her over to see if she could finish. Not a word from the guy. She kindly rinsed my hair and I told her I did not want to finish with my cut and style. After 3 + hours I was done. She told me I could come in the next day for a free cut but by then I did not trust the stylist so refused. Very bad dye job, too slow, rude to leave me sitting there and on top it cost me $85. The woman cut my hair completely opposite of what I asked for, and cut off much more than requested. When I told her it wasn't what I asked for she started taking about evening it up, etc., which were all just lame excuses. When you ask someone to only cut 1/2" and they cut more than 1" it's just unacceptable. Plus, when I got home I realized one side was 1/2" visibly shorter than the other --- never again. read more

I was looking for someone to do my hair onsite at the reception venue (where me and my bridesmaids were getting ready on the day of). Jen, the owner of the salon, offered a great price ($65 for day of and half of that for a trial up do). She came recommended by my wedding planners. The trial: Not great. She is a naturally chatty person, and the experience wasn't relaxing. I didn't feel like she listened to me when I said I wanted "simple, elegant" and showed her pictures. She originally told me what I wanted wasn't bridal enough, so she did her own spin on what I had asked for. I wasn't facing a mirror the whole time, so when it came out unlike what I was expecting I only blamed myself. I talked to my wedding planners about it, and because I was an out of town bride I had to go with her. (I had no other time to have a trial with someone else.) The day of: Great! I think my wedding planners had talked to her, because she catered to exactly what I wanted on the day of. (Whatever I wanted was golden.) She was still chatty, but that makes her relatable and funny. Most clients would enjoy that. I'm glad I stuck with her. My hair held all day and night and I felt gorgeous. Plus, it's hard to beat her prices being the owner of her own salon! read more

We came here with no appointment and hour and a half before closing so we thought there might be a chance my fiancee wouldn't be able to get a quick cut but I was wrong. The moment we walked in we were greated by Karla and taken back to her chair. She cut, shampooed and styled his hair in 30 which was amazing for no appointmentand and not having to wait. At first my fiancee wasn't sure what he wanted to get done but he showed her a picture of what he like. She matched the photo perfectly and asked if he liked it and if she could cut more off. I called at 3 on a Sunday, in desperation. I had fried my hair with a flat iron. I attempted to fix my hair with no luck. I was in desperate need of a cut and conditioning treatment. The receptionist told me I could head over and they would help me out. When I arrived, I was greeted by Dalena. She was so sweet, and immediately took me to her station to get to work on my fried hair. She talked me through every step of the way, and she transformed my hair in less than 2 hours. It was nothing short of a miracle. She salvaged the length of my hair, and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. This past weekend, I tried DIY highlights. Why I would do this after going to a hairstylist most of my life, well I have no idea. Anyway, to make a long story short I messed up in a big way (think orange hair). I was blessed to find Andreas at Wondercuts in La Quinta. He was able to not only repair the damage I did but give me even better highlights than I had previously. I am very particular about my hair, I was worried. No need to worry. He has magic hands. Came in for a haircut and was taken to a young girl just learning how to cut hair. I asked her to cut it short on the sides and she said they didn't have any more short clips that were 1 1/2. After we were done the manager came by and kind of cleaned up what was uncut. When I got home I looked in a mirror I realized how long my hair still was. I called the manager and she said come back in and I will fix it for you. Unfortunately we left town the next morning. I called, and the manager said they would charge me the full price of a haircut to go back in and clean up what was poorly done to begin with. Bad business. I am new to the area... I saw there were good reviews for this place. I went in with completely virgin hair and wanted it to be blonde again. I called and asked for someone good with blonde hair... I got an appointment with Bennie for a cut and color. He colored first... it took a very long time (so long that he had to start taking the bottom foils out early while still putting top foils in) he took me over to rinse me out and needed toner. Apparently the salon ran out of toner so he mixed some stuff together and then put purple shampoo on it (having graduated from cosmo school I thought this was weird) he then rinsed it out after a couple minutes and told me I couldn't look at it until he finished styling it (should have been my first clue) I looked back and was shocked it looked terrible! The highlights were blotchy, yellow, just trashy looking. He told me my ends didn't feel bad so I didn't need a haircut (in reality, his next appointment had shown up). He finished styling it while I tried not to cry and even tried to bluff me by taking a picture 'for instagram cause it looks SO good'. Surprise, the picture never ended up on his instagram. This is before and after. I got it fixed by Vea at J Russell who is AMAZING. I tipped him well because I felt sorry... pretty sure he really tried his best, which was sad. We had an OK experience the first time. However, my wife had a scheduled appointment for a cut/color and the stylist, Carla. She never showed up. We did not receive any calls or texts that she would not be there for the appointment. My wife arrived and nobody told her that Carla had an emergency and was not showing up. She waited an hour and then a "substitute" appeared. This is terrible customer service and we will take our business elsewhere. read more

It's been a good 4 months since I gave my hair some tender loving care so I decided to stop by Wondercuts only because I was given good word and also saw firsthand the work of Andres through a long time girl friend of mine. Every stylist greeted me in a very friendly fashion and I felt welcomed right away. The service I got was over and beyond what I expected. I came in the salon with very fragile ends due to previous chemical processing and left with soft and silky hair. He guided me through the technique he used which was point cutting and after the haircut, he gave me the most nourishing hair treatment ever. I stayed under the dryer for about 20 minutes, he rinsed my hair and gave me a thorough and gentle blowout. If anyone wants shiny, soft hair I definitely would recommend Andres. Just moved to the area about 4 months ago from Orange County. Stopped in to get a haircut (I have short hair). Mike gave me a great cut and was super nice. Called a month later for a color. Mike colored it and did an amazing job. Color was exactly what I wanted and not easy to get it as blonde as he did. I was very impressed. Price was impressive as well. Mike gave me a cut and color last weekend and I can't say enough about this shop. Love my hair and love the commodore this shop has. They are all so friendly and helpful.
