My friend put me on to this nail salon. I totally love it. I never liked getting powder gel manicures - but this place just does it perfect! They are taking every step needed to keep their customers safe which is a plus to me. The reason why I'm rating it 4 stars is BC when I asked for a specific manicurist - they said OK but I didn't get the person I asked for and also BC they have someone do your hands and someone else do your feet. Listen. If im paying 18$ for a pedicure, i don't expect it to be a rushed job. I had a darker polish on before and the lady with a pixie cut didnt take off the polish in some spots. She had left some on other nails too and even though she removed them after being asked, she had done two coats of polish completely ignoring the spots! When it came to mt hands, i had asked her to cut only three of my nails and she completely ignored me. When i asked again, i was ignored AGAIN. The french gel work was sloppy. It's located at the corner of Northern Blvd. and Westminster Rd. - there is a small parking lot in the back which is useful because it can be hard to find a spot on Northern Blvd. The one thing that really stands out to me when I walk into Cosmo Nails is how clean and organized they are. I've finally found something else to do during my lunch break other than eat lunch and stay like a hermit in my office. This place is a 2 minute drive from my office which is perfect. So far I've came here twice. The price is very good so that's a star there. The first time I went was right before Valentine's. I went to get a red gel manicure with a french tip. The clean up was good, I was satisfied with it and the job was done fast. However, they weren't really that good with the white tip. They went over it once and it didn't really look done at all so I asked for a second coat for the white tip, color wise it started to look better, but the overall tip was kind of choppy still. The second time I went I got a gel manicure again, but this time no tip, just a regular gel manicure. I really like their Milk Tea colors so I decided to get that. Again, I was satisfied with the clean up, and I was satisfied that day overall. However, a week past and my gel started to chip... usually gels are not suppose to chip until you forcibly rip it off. So that must have meant that the product wasn't very good, I think it should be changed... now I have another week till I'm due for my next manicure and the chip really bothers me. Regardless I'll still be coming back because it's close to work and if the experience is better for the next few times, I'll update my review! read more

I was in the area and really needed a mani/pedi. I passed by this place and thought it looked nice from the outside. I quickly jumped on yelp to check for reviews to make sure there were no major red flags. There weren't, so I went in. First of all the place is gorgeous and immaculate. All new, beautiful, clean appliances. Even a crystal chandelier in the middle. The manicure tables have marble tops and have built in UV hand slots of UV gel manicures. I don't get UV gel manicures but I was still impressed by this. It's the first time I've ever seen that. OPI and Essie colors were available. My technician was just the right amount of friendly and very efficient. The mani/pedi came to $20, $22, I think? I do remember that it was cheap for such a nice place/good job. I wish I lived in the area and could come here more often! I definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been coming here for almost 4 years. The last several experiences were very underwhelming. Rushed service, raised prices, lack of actual scheduling that's reliable. The moment you ask for anything or want a correction, they start talking about customers among themselves. The quality is def not there, the pedicures are often sloppy and I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. My last visit I had to ask to actually cut my cuticles as the lady did not think it's necessary, the visit before that-my entire appointment was about 15min. Unevenly placed nail polish, no proper scrub of my heels. I promise myself that the current visit will be my last one, I gave this place a fair amount of tries. They have def declined in quality and now that prices were raised, even more reasons to find a place that deserves a loyal customer. read more

Consistent, and decent gel manicures. Pedicure was detailed and very relaxing. Excellent selection of colors, they carry Essie, Opi, and other top brands. The polishes are fresh, and are not watered down. Weekends require appointments. read more

Here was my favorite nail spa place but I was not happy my gel manicure today. The owner Michelle likes to ask yellow skin tone customers: Are you Chinese? Once she knows you understand Chinese, her attitude turns to be very bad and impatient. I was not able to decide color today and didn't like the color she recommended. She was impatient saying, which color you want? This one or pink one? You tell me! Finally, I picked a color and done gel manicure. She said the color I picked is so ugly, the pink she recommended was much prettier. I couldn't believe these words came from a nail salon owner. I was thinking Why I gave my money to these people from mainland Chinese does not know how to respect customer and ruin my day? Would love to speak to the owner. I had the most horrible experience after months of coming to you guys. Unfortunately this will be my LAST! I always see quinnie but since she's away they gave me Dellen. From start to finish she was so nasty with me! I asked her to cut my nails a certain way since I have issues with nail peeling and she refused. As she was putting nail polish on I told her the nail polish will peel with the nail. She starts making a scene in the nail salon as the guest sitting next to me whispered I can't believe she's treating you like trash and with such a nasty attitude. My husband called in advance to get me a mani/pedi appt AND was advised we did not need one. Arrived and was told I'd be 40 minute wait. At 45min I approached them, they spoke amongst themselves and said another 15min. Nice salon but unfortunately very disorganized. Stay away! Sloppy, unhygienic tools. The technician cut into skin so deep that she drew blood. I ended up having to go to a podiatrist bc my big toe swelled up with pus from the overzealous cutting around the nail bed. I have been hobbling around for the past 3 days and my doctor said that whoever did my pedi placed my health in danger. I was prescribed backup antibiotics in case the inflammation does not subside in a couple of days. I am beyond upset. I had been unhappy with the unfriendly, rude service on a prior the visit, but thought perhaps the staff was having an off day and returned, as this location is convenient to my home. However, after this latest hellish experience, I am done. I would give zero stars if I could. I am giving this place one star not based on how well they give a mani-pedi but based on extremely rude disrespectful customer relations. I would give zero stars but that is not an option. I went twice to this salon and on both occasions was mistreated by two different nail technicians when I politely asked them to fix a nail that got smudged. Both nail technicians were not busy at the time were just sitting there. One was on the phone the whole time while my nails were drying and didn't bother to massage me or check on my nails. When I asked her to fix my nail she yelled and screamed at me. This happened last year. Another nail technician was rudely on the phone while doing my nails. She cut the large toes way to short and slanted exposing underneath the skin. Her hair fell on my toe. When I went to take hair off, I accidently smudged the toe. She was annoyed that she had to fix it and gave me attitude. She just sloppily put a coat on without evening out the polish first leaving the toe bumpy with a line going through it. Massage she gave me literally 4 seconds. When I noticed how the toe looked, I asked her again nicely to take polish off and redo. She refused got angry and only wanted to take lazy way out and glob on another coat. I finally had her remove and redo and she was belligerent. Sorry but it could have been done right in the first place. She was sitting there no customers for her. I would have tipped her nicely had she been polite. Instead when I was ready to leave and tip her, I had her sign my card, she couldn't even look at me and still had an attitude. Knocked the tip off by a few dollars. She didn't thank me. As soon as my back was turned, started bad mouthing me to the 2 other salon workers. The manager really needs to work on customer relationship of her employees. I will not be returning. No wonder this promising salon had very little traffic. You walk on eggshells there if you ask them to fix something. Giving you a nasty attitude and having a hissy fit over an accident is a great way to lose business. I don't see them staying open much longer as there are so many other salons in the area where they treat their clients with respect. read more

They used the same nail buffer a tech used on a lady who was sitting right next to me. All the tools were not sanitary. All my toe nails are slanted. Painting skills are very poor to the point where she had to remove it entirely and started all over again. Idk why she her hands were shaking and she kept dotting every time she starting coloring. She was taught wrong from the start. The place looks clean as soon as you walk in. Decent range of colors. All the girls who did pedis... three of them.. I gaurantee you they are not certified. They were probably hired as temp for the peak summer and that is why they are only doing pedis. The lady with pink eyeglasses seemed highly skilled. She was only doing manis. Unless they let me get service from her, I wont be returning. My technician's skills were awfully poor. Sorry to leave such a negative review but whoever the owner is.... Im sorry but let me tell you one thing. This is business and please run it like a business if you want your business to grow. Id rather have you increase the price and have you hire more skilled techs to do pedis. Ive tried a ton of salons from affordable (20 for mani pedi combo) to very high end such as Aries nails on lexington (60 for mani pedi)... They do such a thorough job except for the fact that they do not massage you at all during pedicures or manicures. Complete lack of respect for customers by both the older lady in first chair & young girl 2nd to last chair...the young girl was too busy on her phone the whole time didn't give a massage at end refused to help me with the Saran Wrap for my toes...she tells me I don't need it I said yes I do my toes will smudge she said if they do come back!! Very disappointed - my last two visits to this salon ended with me being turned away. As a long-time customer who has been with the salon since it opened, I was quite shocked to be treated so poorly. The woman at the front desk (not Ellen, but Ellen was standing right next to her) was rude and dismissive and didn't care whether or not she lost business. I will NEVER return to Cosmo again. If you want to hold on to loyal customers, then treat them with some respect and be a little more accommodating. I went back to my old salon, Rebekah in Bayside, where I'm treated with courtesy and receive high quality service. It seems like I have to leave a rating, but do not let that one star fool you.
