The saddest bo luc lac I've seen (this was $19 by the way)
    Gillian A.

Usually I check Yelp before ordering using third-party delivery services but my sister and I wanted to get take-out on a whim. Didn't think I *needed* to check first. Trust was broken, man. Bo luc lac: this place has an abomination of a rendition of this. Super skimpy portion for something that's $19. The beef looked way past its prime (fibrous/falling apart) and was tasteless. Super scam. Sinh to mit: more like canned-jackfruit-turned-into-a-shake. Didn't taste refreshing at all and had too much residual syrup. Bun bo hue: broth is very watered down. Beef was tender, but it tasted a little off (not surprised after tasting the bo luc lac). Big portion and can easily be shared between two people (though not sure why you would want this soup here in the first place). Banh mit thit nuong: bread seemed a little stale (no crisp to the crust and was rather a little gummy). The pork was nothing to write home about. It is a bit of a *wonder* on how messed up this order was. I'm definitely going to check Yelp before ordering delivery from now on, phew.

I've been going here since the Tango Cafe and then Wonder Cafe days. It was under new management several times throughout the years. This used to be a cafe, not just a restaurant. I go here for one thing, and one thing only. My favorite thing on the menu is chả cá lã vọng. Not a lot of restaurants around carry it. The turmeric in the fish is earthy. It's served on a sizzling platter. The dill adds a hint of caraway. The mắm nêm is pungent.

I ordered number 31 togo for about $20 and the amount of food for it was not worth it. It is pretty sweet for a papaya beef shrimp dish. I went at 10pm (luckily with my bff's) and the location had an empty parking lot, which I was not expecting at all. The workers were hanging out in the restaurant area, which I thought was pretty cute -- the waitresses were extremely nice and helpful, but wearing clubbing dresses. At night, it seems the karaoke-party aspect comes out in full. It gave a 21+ vibe. P.s. Only go at night for the karaoke and bar.

Bo Ne, Vietnamese steak and eggs

We came here for brunch one morning. We loved the vast menu options. I settled for the Bo Ne which was the perfect brunch option coming with 3 various meats, egg, and freshly toasted french bread. I cannot wait to come back and get it again! Don't forget to try their coffee as well!

So I think I would rate this place a 3 1/2 stars. I only came because my friend said she liked the coffee here. I ordered a bun thit nuong (grilled pork over vermicelli). The pork had good flavor and veggies were fresh. I wasn't a fan of the eggrolls or vietnamese coffee. You have to pass through a group of men sitting outside smoking to get to this place (the smoking really bothers me). And if you like to play scratchers, they have machines inside to buy scratchers and a machine for you to check if you won ^_-. Also saw a couple computers, I don't know what it was but pretty sure it was for gambling too. Definitely another one of those Asian places where older men hang out lol.

Great customer service and food tastes so good. Definitely coming back here for more food. 10/10!!! Tastes so authentic!

The receipt stating to not cook the noodles. No where does it say to replace it with egg noodle!!!!

The chef must of been high or drunk. I placed an ordered on door dash for Pho Ga(rice noodle chicken soup). I requested for the noodles to not be cooked so I can have it fresh since it's take out. Anyways for some apparent reason instead of giving me rice noodle, they replaced it with egg noodle! Like why?!!! I ordered Pho and no where on the receipt says egg noodles. So what in the world were y'all thinking Wonder cafe? Do better!!!

The brisket texture was like chewing on rubber bands. Not all that great. Very little condiments.

Pair it with a rich, flavorful bowl of Mi Quang, and you're in food heaven. Try their bun cha ca, vermicelli noodles w fish cake super light and excellent broth! I also like their banh xeo here, very crispy and the right amount of veggies. PRO-TIP YOU NEED TO TRY: Don't sleep on their appetizer menu! Stop by TK Noodles down the street first, grab some chicharrones to-go, and sprinkle them right on top of the Banh Beo here. Total game changer! Try something else besides pho, I love pho but Vietnamese cuisine has many distinct soup dishes when you factor in regional variations, unique broths, and different noodle types. If you look past phở, Vietnamese soups generally fall into a few massive, distinct categories based on how the broth is built and what kind of noodle is used.

The dipping sauce lacked flavor and the color was a bit off-putting. For ~$4 a roll, I was hoping for more. Banh Hoi Chao Tom: There was a crispy exterior to my chao tom, but it definitely looked way different than I know chao tom to be. I'm used to the sugarcane inside the patty to infuse it with the sweetness and aroma, but here my sugarcane sticks were kinda just laying there on my plate (lol). There also isn't much shrimp in the mixture so the chao tom truly lacked excitement. There was no complexity of flavor.. just crispy-ness which carried the dish. Overall, 4/10.

We felt transported back to Vietnam when we sipped the sugarcane and calamansi juice. If they have it (listed seasonal on the menu), try it! We also got nem cuon (not pictured) and the portion was generous and warm. I love their dipping sauce too. The broken rice plates also remind me of the places my mom took me to in Westminster and Garden Grove growing up. The accompaniments(hanh mo), whole Thai chilies, and chicken broth are signs of the authenticity. Meats are marinated and grilled nicely too. Everything is so so good. Support this place and family. They're great and kind!

We ordered the combo pho, and the broth was surprisingly bland & lacking the depth and richness you'd expect. The meat was tough, there was barely any tripe, and no tendon at all, which was disappointing for a "combo." I also requested less noodles, but that adjustment was mistakenly given to my husband's bowl instead. Not a huge issue on its own, but it added to the overall experience. That said, the menu offers a wide variety of broken rice dishes, so it seems like that might be more of their specialty. If I were to return, I'd probably try one of those instead of the pho.

We ordered the #1 Cha Gio (fried egg rolls), #11 Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet (combination flour sheet/roll), and #54 Banh Xeo Can't go wrong with the cha gio. We mixed our fish sauce with the chili sauce and this was so good. I wish it came with a little bit more veggies as I like to lettuce wrap my cha gio. Banh Cuon combo plate was also very good but the banh cuon was absolutely the best part - next time I would just order a plate of only the rice rolls! Banh Xeo took a bit longer to come out but it was very large and seemed like a popular menu item as we saw other tables order this. This is a savory Vietnamese pancake/crepe packed with veggies and shrimp and pork. Veggies and herbs were plentiful here - a bit messy to eat but so good! Service was okay - our orders were taken in a timely manner and food came out promptly. Only thing is that we were never checked up on and we had to walk up to the counter to settle the bill. As there are a lot of seafood options. However there is hotpot options and other noodle and rice dishes as well. The restaurant has a small outdoor patio. Inside has spacious table seating, some with booth and good lighting inside. There was ballad vietnamese music video playing. The restaurant was not busy and there were elderly men at the tables playing cards and some at another table they were chatting & drinking. Im not sure if they hold karaoke or have live bands but there is a stage with music instruments and a projector with installed party lights. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted right away. It was a bummer when they told us they didn't make ox tail or bum rieu today. Instead we ordered beef tartare, beef pho and shaken beef with rice. The beef tartare was this sliced raw beef with onion, herbs and lime which made the dish rich and savory. The pho was mediocre and same goes for the shaken beef, but both dishes were still tasty enough. During our time there, the server did not check on us or refill our water. If I'm craving for seafood, maybe I'll come back to try their seafood options.
