My parents frequent here a lot and have gotten to know the chef. He gave us a nice side plate of pickled cucumbers, seaweed salad, ginger and wasabi. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, salmon and yellowtail sashimi, octopus and eel nigiri, scallop and spicy tuna handrolls, and mango and green tea mochi. We also ordered a few rounds of hot sake as well. The chef gave us all nice fatty salmon belly on our second round of sashimi, which was delicious and very appreciated. Although I no longer work in this area, we still make our way here from time to time because although we love supporting small businesses, we especially love supporting great small businesses! This has been a lunch hour spot for us for years. We always order for our appetizer the age tofu- fried perfectly, retaining the soft insides and with a tasty sauce. This used to be my favorite sushi place for YEARS. Like 10 years. Then during the pandemic the quality went down and I stopped going. I just recently started getting sushi again and the food has been pretty good, not amazing. I ordered a DoorDash pickup order and got an Alaskan roll, where the MAIN ingredient is salmon. They gave me no salmon and just gave me a roll with crab salad in it and nothing else. It was so weird and disappointing. Couldn't do anything to fix it. Door dash refunded me only $2.
