I go to Dr Wong's clinic today to enquire about the possibility of pinhole gum repair. Dr Wong is very knowledgeable with great patience in explaining my condition to me. I have to say I am so impressed with Dr Les Wong and his staff particularly Marlo and Angelica. I was worried about my gum recession and also had excessive stains on my teeth. Dr Les did my cleaning and what a thorough cleaning it was, where he magically transformed my dull brown stained teeth to pearly whites ,I have the confidence back now to smile and I couldn't be happier with all his attention to detail and care. Dr Les Wong has been my dentist for 10 years now. I was referred to him from a close friend and I'm so glad that he did. The office is very nice and clean and has easy access to all freeways. I'm very happy with the service because I had bad experience with one of my previous dentists. I don't like the drilling and the suction tools hanging around my mouth. Dr Wong makes sure that his assistants help him with those tools so I don't feel like gagging and drowning during the procedure. He also makes sure that my appt is mine and nobody else will interfere with it. He respects my time and I really appreciate that. I found Dr. Les Wong, by accident. My dentist suggested I see a specialist for receding gums. I googled "pain free treatment for receding gums", and found a link to Dr. Wong. He is one of a handful of dentists in Santa Clara county trained in the "Pinhole Surgical Technique". I was sore for 3 days after the treatment, but was pleasantly surprised by the rapid recovery. He is a great dentist! Very calm, patient, listens to all your concerns, and great integrity. My previous dentist retired a couple years ago, and he was fantastic. The person who took over his practice started recommending many procedures for me, and as a person who has been told I have good teeth all my life, it was disconcerting. In any case, during my last visit to that dentist, he told me I had a fractured tooth and required a crown at ($$$). I didn't go through with it. A few weeks later, my jaw started to hurt on that side. I thought I had made a mistake. I tried to see my dentist, but he was out of the country for the Holidays. I made an emergency appointment with Dr. Wong. He conducted a thorough examination and X-Rays and then asked me, "Which tooth was it that required the crown?" At first that concerned me, but he informed me that in his opinion I just had craze lines which weren't very deep and I didn't have any signs of infection in my jaw...whew! What a relief! I recently had a CT scan performed on my sinuses which revealed a massive sinus infection. I really appreciate Dr. Wong's thoroughness and honesty. A less scrupulous person could performed an unnecessary and expensive procedure which would not have solved my problem. I also want to say that the people he has on staff are very professional and warm. They greeted me very professionally and made me feel welcome! Dr. Les Wong has been my and my family's dentist for more than 18 years. I have always had tooth problems and I know every time I can count on Dr. Wong to take care of the problem. His work is amazing. I come out of his office and I feel relieved and very pleased. Recently I had a tooth removed. I was in so much pain before the procedure. Dr. Wong explained the procedure with details of what needed to be done and what to expect as well. I was so nervous but he took good care of me. What I like was his follow up phone calls that evening to make sure I was ok. I also recently chipped a big piece of a molar. I was so worried. Dr. Wong was able to fix it in no time. I have been going to Dr. Wong for more than 10 years now. My previous Dentist wanted to cap a tooth with a small filling as a result of a small cavity which he missed during a prior visit which then required a larger filling. When I told him I wanted him to try to just fill it again, he patted me on the shoulder, and turned to his assistance and said just make Mike an appointment to have that tooth capped. Needless to say, I went in search of a new Dentist, and found Dr. Wong through call 1-800-DENTIST. Dr. Wong recommended a partial crown which essentially is a crown milled while you wait to fit the exact area of the tooth needing to be "filled". I was ecstatic to find a Dentist who had state of the art equipment and understood the value of saving as much of a good tooth as humanly possible. That was more than 10 years ago, and the partial crown is still good as new. Recently, I decided to have 4 Dental Implants implanted to replace back teeth I lost as an adolescent. After I told Dr. Wong I had gone to ClearChoice for a consultation to have the implants, he told me he does implants as well which once again surprised me, but in retrospect I shouldn't have been surprised as Dr. Wong is always current with the latest state of the art Dental treatments. Of course, I told Dr. Wong, I would be far more comfortable with him doing the implants, then Doctors at ClearChoice who I didn't know from Adam. A couple of weeks ago, Dr. Wong, placed the four implants, 2 on each side of my lower jaw during a 3 hour procedure. His assistant Paulo set me up with a heated vibrating/massage pad on the dental chair, headphones to plug into my iPhone, and a blanket to keep me warm. I already felt like I was in heaven and totally relaxed. Then, Dr. Wong came in and administered the Novocaine by first using a numbing medication swabbed on the area where he was going to insert the needle to administer the Novocaine. Dr. Wong uses a technique of slightly massaging and gently pinching the area before inserting the needle making it pain free. Next, he put the nose mask on to give me Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) which we discuss prior to him starting the procedure. Once, I was all numbed-up Dr. Wong started the surgery. During the 3 hours procedure I did not feel any pain whatsoever, and it didn't feel like 3 hours; rather, like 45 minutes. Believe it of not, I was in my own world as warm and as snug as a bug in a bed with a nice buzz from the Nitrous Oxide. All during the procedure Dr. Wong would stop periodically lift the headphone pad from my ear and ask how I was doing, and told me what part of the procedure he was going to be starting next. Before I knew it I was done, he prescribed Vicodin gave me instructions for caring for the implant sites for the next week to 2 weeks, and had his assistant schedule a post-op appointment for 2 weeks out. I took the Vicodin for a day or two, then switched to Tylenol for a couple of days. I did not experience one iota of pain before, during, or after the procedure. Dr. Wong as always called me later that day to ask how I was doing, and to call him if I had any problems, questions, or concerns. Today, I went for the Post-Op appointment and a cleaning. Dr. Wong's Hygienist removed the part of the sutures that did not completely dissolve as part of my cleaning which I wouldn't have know that was what she was doing if I hadn't asked. Once, again no pain. I might add this new Hygienist did a completely manual teeth cleaning (i.e. no ultra-sound wand, vibration, or spraying water). The new Hygienist was gentle, thorough, highly skilled cleaning teeth manually. Not surprising, Dr. Wong's Dental Practice continues to be a 5 stars out of 5 stars rating in my book. read more
