Had no expectations and this place surprised us. Everything was excellent from appetizers to salad to wine, cocktails and main course. The woodnotes salad is highly recommended! Enjoy, I doubt there's anything on the menu that you won't love!

Great food and great service. Everything was delicious. The place has beautiful sceneries as well. The cheese plate was delicious and the short rib was so tender and tasty ! Would recommend !

This is a beautiful restaurant located at the Emerson Resort. The décor of the restaurant is absolutely warm and bright. The restaurant even has a fireplace. The restaurant is able to do outdoor dining due to Covid-19 and there is plenty of parking spaces. Due to Covid-19 we sat out side. The table are spacious and the restaurant provided outdoor heaters to keep the diners warm. The best part of outdoor dining at the Grille was the view. While you sit outside you get a beautiful view of the Esopus Creek. Totally worth eating outside. We came here for dinner one Saturday. I loved the cocktail menu the restaurant offered. They have cocktails named after famous poets. I ordered the Hemingway and thought it was a lovely drink. As a vegetarian I felt I had some choices to choose from. For my appetizer course I had a lovely Red Pepper Bisque. It was hot and creamy, I would highly recommend this dish. For my main course I had the Arancini. The dish was perfect, it was warm and buttery. I really enjoyed the dish. For dessert I had the Cheesecake. the Carmel really elevated the cheesecake and I loved it! Overall I had a wonderful time dining at this restaurant.

When all else fails up in the mountains during a major Holiday, count on Woodnotes Grille- Emerson Resort & Spa's restaurant with a modern design inside; along with light grey scheme and delicate ceiling lamps. Hostess, Karen, made sure our accommodations were in tack and immediately sat us by their fireplace. Our main server Liz, was pleasant and explained their Christmas Specials (menu would've topped it, with a few more options). Nonetheless, we began with a wonderful Chestnut Soup. The supporting staff, were all friendly. However, during our dinner and reordering more cocktails, servers became less attentive. And I fully understand: Christmas Day (mind you) the only upscale restaurant operating with a full house, made for delays; I get it. But there were several more hiccups: Mr. Man's Risotto was hard and lacked creaminess and my Roasted Veggies were more than roasted- they were burnt. I happily passed their Dessert Options and settle for their Lava Cake (from their à la carte Menu); except, my Dessert called for a scoop of Stout Ice Cream that I honestly didn't care for and specifically mentioned to Liz to please leave out and substitute with Chocolate. Great. She complied....But, then the Lava Cake came with the Stout Ice Cream- that I initially didn't want. Could I have avoided all this and scraped the Stout Ice Cream and settled for a dessert that I wasn't going to enjoy? Absolutely not. I asked for Liz to come by our table and mentioned (again) that I didn't want the Stout Ice Cream. She apologized endlessly for the mishap and I finally received my Lava Cake with a Chocolate scoop. To end, Liz apologized again and didn't include a set of our cocktails and the Lava Cake. I was satisfied with their decision, seriously- not because we got two free drinks and a dessert- on the house, but primarily because Liz acknowledged her mistake. Listen if I take off one star for this, one star for that, it'll be ugly---- and I won't do that. I come to the Woodstock area quite often and would like for Woodnotes Grille to be part of my fixture up here.

Nothing special for the price. It's not bad though. The hotel and the ambiance is very nice but the food is very average.

But somewhere in the last few months, the kitchen's lost its touch. Two weeks ago my pasta came out looking rich and promising, but the cheese had clearly been melted ages before- cold, congealed and sad by the time it hit the table. I had to send it back just to get it warmed. Then came their famous chocolate ganache balls we love with strawberry coulis. Except now, the scoops are deformed with zero coulis and replaced with caramel instead. Why change something that worked so well? Hubs and I thought maybe it was just an off night. Came back Halloween weekend with my daughter, hoping for some sort of redemption. Nope. Same story. Plus the Vegetarian hand pies my kid and I ordered were cold. The only thing still holding this place up is the nice menu selections that only reads well on paper and for sure, their cocktails: strong and creative.-

Definitely what you would picture in those classic movies/shows. Food was 10/10!! I ordered the buttermilk pancakes which is what they are most famous for and for good reason too! Fluffy and light and amazing portions (5 big pancakes with mixed berries)! The pancakes were so good that we bought a bag of pancake mix to take home. My sister ordered the eggs any way and she loved everything that came with it: eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, potatoes, and toast. Everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious and it was hard to decide what to order. They have weekly specials as well. Our waitress Susie was an absolute sweetheart and made our entire experience memorable. That being that we had asked her for some more water and by the time she came back around, someone else had already stopped by and filled up our glasses. She apologized for the delay by giving us a free chocolate chip cookie and it was the best damn cookie I've had in a long time. She went above and beyond for something that wasn't a big deal, but we appreciated the thought. I'd definitely come back here if I'm near the area.

The pancakes for some reason I feel like they make it similar to the papusas cuz it was like thinly sliced. Ain't nothing by wrong with that - just noticing. I liked it thin cuz it was filling enough to get our sweet kick. Service was on point. They got a small bar which was cool. Inside there is a few seating and you could probably bring a stroller but honestly just bring the car seat and put it in one of the chairs. Once I saw papusas on the menu compared to the typical benedict bs at other restaurants with the flower and string light, and cursive chalk board writing menus, I was like babe we gotta go here for breakfast lmao. Hella random but Google said this spot was busier than usual and there was like 2 tables seated when we got there. Not a knock on this spot at all - just don't trust everything your phone tells you besides what I write into the ether that is the internet for my Yelp reviews. Ok ADHD rant done.

We chose SILVIA because the menu is vegetable forward and as a vegetarian there were several dishes I had to try. Both my omni partner and I loved the mushroom lentil pâté, stuffed artichokes, and smoked beets we had for appetizers. The pâté is rich and flavorful and the pickled veggies it's served with are so good we only wished the dish came with more of them. The artichokes were perfectly tender and are stuffed with raclette and ramp (YUM), and the lemon breadcrumbs they're topped with pair so well with the cheese, and add a lovely brightness and zing. The smoked beets were also perfectly tender with a deep rich smokey flavor, and the chimichurri they come with does a nice job to add brightness (There's a theme here of rich flavors paired with brightness to make your palette pop). For an entrée we opted to share the local mushroom & pasta rags dish. the pasta rags were cooked nicely, soft but still toothy, and the mushrooms, black garlic butter, and thyme added a rich deep flavor. I was obsessed with the amount of parmigiano reggiano the pasta was topped with -- I could've eaten plate after plate of this dish. Their cocktail menu seems to be just as well thought out as their food with some unique offerings. I tried and enjoyed both Mezcal options. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. Their menu is extensive and impressive; they have some all-star dishes on their permanent menu as well as a rotating daily menu with a legendary lineup of seasonal items. I really appreciate that they have dishes that are hard to come by such as lentil loaf and lasagna, and these never disappoint. The lentil loaf is unique; it is a little brick of lentils (not your traditional sliceable mush of breadcrumbs and minced veggies). It's very well seasoned and the tomato sauce on top is not overly sweet. The mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy and (very) garlicky greens make it a great meal. The lasagna is one of my favorite dishes. It's pasta-free and just made from layers of sliced zucchini and other veggies sandwiched with their delicious crumbly housemade cashew cheese. The herby tomato sauce is super flavorful. The side salad and garlic bread that accompany it are great also; an ultra comforting meal. We enjoyed the macro meal, although honestly not as much as the other dishes. The pan-seared tofu was delicious, but the arame seaweed salad was super seaweedy and salty - a bit much for me. I'm also not sure why they didn't serve it in a bowl, which would have made the rice etc. easier to eat. It seemed to be missing something - perhaps avocado, or a hunk of sweet potato. A few items at the Garden Cafe are a little perplexing, compared to how perfect most of their food is. The tempeh is just ok. It's heavily marinated in a sweet and salty sauce and kind of strange. Also disappointing that it's just a big brand tempeh rather than one of the local tempeh brands available in the area. The housemade focaccia is also bizarre. The texture made me think it was gluten-free (but it's not). Is it whole wheat?? If that's the case, awesome, but they should mention that on the menu, so you aren't taken aback when you don't get pillowy airy bread and instead get something flat and gray that could be mistaken for a biscotti. We LOVE the Garden Cafe and wish more places like this existed serving organic classic meals. We wish they would open a location in New York City, but until then, we will be making the drive!
