Loved every item our waiter suggeded! We were in town on business and had heard this place was amazing. Concerned it might be over blown as to how good it would really be - We were NOT disappointed! The cocktails were fantastic. Recommend the Cucumber cocktail! Appetizers - so much great flavor. This specific evening they has a pastramied swordfish that blew our tastbuds away. Our waiters recommendation on wine to have with dinner was spot on. We had the wood grilled broccoli - my wife is not really a brocolli fan...In this case we both had no problem thoroughly enjoying and devouring it Their burger came highly recommended by friends - sold out as we did not dine till 8:30, so we splurged and had the GrassFed Rib-eye - fantastic! They modified my wife's to be gluten free and we both we very satisfied. We finished off with an excellent finnale of their chocolate torte served with a small helping of coffee ice cream. Needless to say we left incredibly satisfied and only wishing our stay could be longer so we could come back. read more

I have lived in NYC for 10 years (where we pride ourselves on Brunch) and Woods Hill Table has the best brunch I have EVER eaten! One dish was better than the next, but the French Toast is absolutely sublime. The Bloody Marys taste like gourmet cocktails and the muffins and bread are out of this world. We had a last minute reservation here. First impression was quite favorable. Nicely styled restaurant with thoughtful acoustics that kept the overall volume of conversations to a reasonable level. Comfy seats. Great views to the kitchen. Excellent service. Overall, it looked like we were in for a nice dinner out. But we came for the food, right? We enjoyed a couple of interesting cocktails and some amazing sourdough bread while our starters were being prepared. A glitch right away- my salad was heavily dosed with sea salt- not in the dressing, but all over the greens. The revised unsalted version was back, but not before the husband was halfway through with his salmon poke. (A big thumbs up from him on that app). The new salad was good- thin slices of pears, perfectly candied nuts and just enough blue cheese to sit delightfully on the palate. I wish the momentum continued with the entree. I had the potato gnocchi. Very different from what I'm used to- they were light and fluffy like little whipped potato balls. But i was hard pressed to see how this dish related to the description- which included artichokes, roasted mushrooms and macadamia mint gremolata. Now it may have included all those things- but honestly- I could not decipher the individual taste. Lots of mushrooms- hen of the woods and shiitake i think. Not a fan of mushrooms- but they were interesting and plentiful. I wonder if everything else was pureed? Flavor was good, but I'm bothered that the description was more elaborate the the dish! Last stop- dessert. A small selection of offerings- we chose to split the meyer lemon cake. Remember the Easy Bake oven? The yellow cake was that. And i did not taste lemon in the cake. The ice cream was grainy- and flavorless. The topping was yogurty and lemony and pretty. My bottom line- if you're still reading- as much as i want to like this place- there was no taste value for the money. Im not likely to return. read more

I went to Woods Hill table for a birthday dinner this past Tuesday. Most of our meal was excellent. We had the pate and the autumn salad both delicious. My husband got the swordfish which was amazing. I however got the steak frites which was marked market price. I ordered without asking the price, big mistake. The steak came and was just okay. Not tender. Not seasoned, couldn't really find the sauce bordelaise. And the kicker was the price $51. Way more $$ than anything else on the menu. So, over all I recommend. Just don't get the steak frites. read more

This was a very good restaurant. I asked a question about where they get their beef from and how it's raised. It turns out that they have their own farm and their beef is 100% grass fed. That was completely awesome. They know where they are getting their food from which is such a beautiful thing and it reflects in the taste and quality of their food. Just make sure that you book a week in advance or you will be waiting for a bit for a bar table, and forget about a regular table without a rsvp. Great place! read more

Really slow service, on a slow Saturday for Brunch/Lunch. Our sever was very friendly, however everything was slow from drinks arriving, food arriving, drink top offs, and being asked if we needed salt/pepper after almost finishing our meal. The food was mediocre, as I had the Eggs Benedict. Eggs were underdone, with the whites being runny. Home fries seemed like they were reheated, and weren't very good. Maybe would come back for beers only at the bar, but nothing else. Subpar for the price you pay. read more

We went to Woods Hill to celebrate my daughter's graduation from AB High School. We left with one of the worst acts of management I've ever experienced. And by the way, if you are planning on eating here, be aware that the average time for a two top to eat dinner is over 1 and 1/2 hours, 4 tops are over 2 and 1/2 hours-a quote from the General Manager. More on this later. We came with my daughter's Grandmother and Grandfather, Aunt and Uncle, brother my wife and myself-an eight top. We had a reservation and were seated on time. We ordered appetizers and main courses. 2 hours and forty minutes later we were still waiting for a check. During the meal our server (who was gracious the whole time) continued to apologize for the delays in our food-both bread, appetizers and main courses.. Before the main course (it was over 2 and 1/4 hours) I told our server that I appreciated the apologies but the food was really taking too long. She apologized again and went over to the service line. Our table was situated where I had a clear line of sight to the service line (where the kitchen delivers the food to the servers). It was chaotic all night and a young man in a dress shirt was working diligently to expedite the orders. You clearly see there were some delays. After the server got to the service line you could see there was a great deal of discussion between her and the chef. There were other servers waiting in the area and nothing was coming out. Our server clearly looked frustrated. this went on for about 10 minutes. There was not manager in that area. She came back to apologize again and told me they were short staffed in the kitchen that night. About another 15 minutes later our food starting coming out. 3 were served, 3-4 minutes later another 3 then the final entrée. We ate our meal and I mentioned to our server that I'd like to talk to a manger about the delay. (We had not been approached by a manager even thought they walked by our table a number of times). She spoke to gentleman who after talking to the chef came to our table. "I understand you have some issue with our service. Was the food worth the wait?" he opened with a hint of sarcasm. I told him that reminded me of the classic line: "Well Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?" I thought this was the beginning of as discussion of our problem but it was not. I was firmly told that their food is made to order and that was the way it was. No apology-no recognition of our problem-just hey our food is great-too bad your took an extra long time. I continued to wait for the check. The check came with no further comments form the manager. I asked the manager if this was it (bear in mind our bill with the mandatory 20% gratuity. Which I hope all goes to the server as it should per Massachusetts labor law) was $660. Not an insubstantial amount.. He said again that they cooked their stuff from scratch and it takes a long time. I pointed out to him that I saw 2 tops and 4 tops arrive after us and leave before us. we were after all only two four tops-why the extra time. "Sorry sir-nothing we can do" I asked to see another manager. The General Manager came to our table and said he heard we had a challenge with our service. I told him that our server was great but that they seem to have a problem in their kitchen. I explained how I saw the challenge they had with the line and that our server seem to arguing with the chef over our order and . He said that there was no way that could happen. I said I saw it with my own eyes. "Sir she couldn't have been arguing with the chef because he's an executive member of our staff. I would fire her if she did that. Do you ever argue with your boss?" he said. I incredulously responded-"Yes, if they are wrong or are affecting customer service." I pointed out that the that she mentioned the short staffing yet he had not. At this point the GM became even more belligerent and made it clear we would need to pay our bill and needed to leave. I wasn't looking for a discount and I am not complaining about the quality of the food-it was great. Our server was super and tried very hard. She was knowledgeable and did an excellent job of up-selling. The front of house and kitchen management staff though turned this celebration into a ruined evening. A gentle "I'm sorry sir, our kitchen was behind" or "We had a call off in the kitchen" would have solved this. Instead, I'm giving them a one star of what I expect will be many more unless they address this issue. I know this is a new restaurant and needs to get its legs under them. They won't be successful if their front of the house personnel don't begin to understand that repeat customers and word of mouth can make or break a new local business. I did note that there were other reviews that picked up on the arrogance. Arrogant management will kill a restaurant no matter how good the food. Good luck read more

As West Concord residents who often resent the lack of good dining options in the area, we have been anticipating the opening of this restaurant. We were lucky to get a reservation tonight during the "soft opening" in March. As a vegetarian/pescetarian couple, we were not expecting to have many options here as it is a meat-heavy menu. However, I got the Buckwheat Risotto (an appetizer which is also available in entree size; I ordered it without the chorizo vinagrette) and my husband got the Celery Root entree. Both were really fantastic and exceeded our expectations. In fact, one of the better meals we have had in quite some time. Good luck getting a table without a reservation since they don't pick up the phone and the young staff doesn't know what to do with walk-ins since they don't allow any standing at the bar and they have a wait list to sit at the bar, this is concord people not a fancy place downtown in boston. I was waiting to try this place as it had good marketing. Sat at the bar, though tables were empty - host said reservations, which was poor management. They sat empty until we left. So, at the bar, the service was mediocre even though there were 5 people behind the bar and the restaurant wasn't busy. Trademark drinks were just ok, food was ok - the spicy pork appetizer was good, but the Bolognese and Gnocchi both were subpar. Service was lame, water sat empty, no offering of another glass of wine, checking to see if food was nice, etc. The bar smelled too - they must have used a dirty mop to clean the floor. Smells like a college bar. I live locally, I took a neighbor to have a nice dinner, and it was pretty disappointing. Stick with 80 Thoreau. read more

We drove out from Boston after hearing the buzz about this wonderful place tucked away in West Concord and for only being open 3 months Woods Hole is firing like a veteran. The front of the house/table service was top notch and the food exceptional. We started with the scallop crude and the pouched farm egg with confit of chicken thighs. We then followed with the bluefish and pressed pork. Each were unique in their prep and absolutely delicious, showcasing Charlie Fosters and his teams exceptional talent in the kitchen. They also boast a 200 bottle organic or biodynamic wine list along with a large selection of organic liquors. We also had the great pleasure of meeting the owners Kristin and Jim and based on our conversation they are truly committed to the idea of delivering high quality and incredibly prepared organic food. Thank god for Uber as this place is well worth the drive! read more

Have to agree with negative reviews of service, particularly reception/host(ess) team - Saturday night around 7 there were several empty tables but we were told there was waiting list, which we dutifully logged on - and waited and waited while even more tables freed up Someone else waiting eventually let us know they were probably waiting to sit us at the bar as we'd been "invited" to stand there and have a drink until something "opened up" - indeed, as soon as we grabbed someone and specifically asked for a table, we were immediately seated Not once in the 20 minutes we stood in the way did anyone invite us or offer to sit us at a table - it felt very lazy, unprofessional, immature - especially at this price point read more

Came for a Fathers Day dinner and was rightly impressed. Great setting, excellent service and great food. I had the WHT burger: perfectly cooked and the tallow fries were AMAZING! Loved the Cheese on it. The made-to-order whole wheat baguette was so worth the measly $5; and the butter and pork fat spread were great. The half-sized portions worked great for mom and dad, which they both really enjoyed: mom had the gnocchi; dad had the asparagus with egg and chicken confit. Add the fries to dad's order and he was in heaven! The bill was totally reasonable though we didn't have any alcohol or major appetizers. The only thing that sort of missed was the dessert - strawberry "something", I can't remember. But the berries were fresh and the sorbet was excellent. Overall it was a great meal in a really nice atmosphere. Well worth the trip. Hoping they eventually open for lunch. Thanks for a really nice meal. Keep it up. read more

This is a new restaurant in West Concord that recently opened. It is nicely decorated and comfortable. The food is all organic and was very good. All the dishes that we had were well prepared including appetizers and dessert. The service was not up to expectations for a restaurant at this price level. The staff seems to want to do a good job but they seem to all be very inexperienced. We weren't told about an entree substitution until we ordered the item from the menu. Since the item was totally different, not just a different sauce or something we had to decided again. I'm not sure why they couldn't have told us when they gave us the menu or why they didn't just change the menu. Our appetizer came with only a couple of toast points and we asked for additional toast points which took about 15 minutes to deliver and came at the same time as our dinner. So we finished our appetizer as our dinners sat there. No offer to refresh our coffee or for more coffee with our dessert. The owner was in the dining room part of the time but spent all of her time with people she clearly knew. No attempt was made to talk with or engage other patrons or solicit feedback. It was definitely worth a try since we live in town and hopefully the service will improve. read more

Wow! What an experience! The owner and chef have done a great job here. The atmosphere is open & comtempory while being rustic and retro too. Kristin, the owner, is constantly walking through to make sure everyone is comfortable and well cared for. Our server was friendly and extremely knowledgable and prompt. We had a gluten free/dairy free diner with us and our server was very attentive to her dietary needs. Every course was absoluetly delicious. The food was very fresh & favorful, and the presentation was beautiful. The organic spirits were surprisingly good and the wine selection great. I'm getting back there very soon!!! :) read more

When we left my husband stated that was the best dinner he had out for some time. True, true. Even a simple side, such as wood roasted asparagus drizzled w/Greek olive oil and the best grated parmesan was a delight. I had a pork dish (their own pork) with the most tender and flavorful meat. I shared with my husband. He had a seafood dish. The veggies on the plate were just perfect. Since it was my birthday dinner, we did not share a dessert and I am glad we did not. Dessert creations were worthy of a framed photo. Creme fraiche ice cream! They were delicious. Wine and beer list is extensive, but I opted for one of their signature cocktails. Note: this place is difficult for getting a reservation. I booked a month in advance for a Saturday evening. Wait staff was friendly and answered all my questions. read more

Three of us created a delicious degustation menu by ordering a selection of seafood and appetizers and the artichoke entree. Choices are based on what we can't cook at home, and believe me we could not cook any of our choices, especially these standout dishes: grilled scallops on ribbons of kohlrabi, citrus cured fluke with peach and fried threads of ginger, and the farm egg and forage mushrooms with crispy chicken skin. We asked for spoons to scoop up residual juices, too good to waste. A light French rose worked well with all dishes. Left completely satisfied, wondering if they had tallied our very reasonable bill correctly. Returning to Perth, Australia in the morning carrying a fine memory of this meal. read more

This place is pretentious and a little too full of itself. We arrived without a reservation, but saw half the tables empty. They didn't seat us for 90 minutes and most of the tables were still empty when we left. We had to eat at the bar and were told the empty tables were for reservations. The reservations never came. The food was good, but not so good to stand for 90 minutes while there are 10 empty tables. read more

It seemed uninspired although quite expensive. Sometimes it seems that the whole "farm to table" movement has become a catchphrase for charging premium amounts for meals. Wow! During a week in which we were lucky enough to also dine at No. 9 Park and Alden & Harlow, Woods Hill Table was by far our best meal. In order of appearance: The new rustic decor and piped in jazz were both comfortable and refined. Great for a date or friendly dinner. (Probably best to leave the kids at home.) The bar was super. We had Maple Manhattans with just the right combination of bitter and sweet. Interestingly, all of the alcohol served is from small craft distillers. If you ask for Tanqueray, Glenlivet, etc; you'll be directed to a similar, hopefully more interesting, craft version. We admire the bartender's skill and confidence. Mesclun salads with pear, sweet potato, chevre and sesame were the best salads we've had in memory. But they're big--one salad would be plenty for two. Roasted beet soup was complex, interesting and delicious. Skirt steak (from their own farm!) with tallow frites and watercress salad was excellent. The tallow gave the frites just the right degree of depth to stand up to the steak. The watercress was a bit heavy on the salt--but at this point we were already in love, so it hardly mattered. Apple galette with coconut ice cream was the perfect ending--crispy, creamy, tart and sweet--but not too heavy. Service was excellent throughout. Came home from school in Boston to get dinner with my father. I hopped right off the commuter rail from North Station and was seated within 5 minutes. It was late on a Thursday night, so we were in luck with no reservation! The atmosphere was amazing, with a nice giant fireplace to remind you you were indeed in suburbia. You can't beat the ambiance of Woods Hill; it's a very pretty place with decor that tells the story of West Concord. Most of the food I've had had been delicious especially any small plates. I've been disappointed on occasion with the entrees as a few have been overcooked. The service can be very spotty. Some servers are awesome; some servers you wonder how they got a job at all. Visited the restaurant SAT 1/23/16. The meal was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Kielbasa, which isn't something I would normally get but had no regrets. The freshness of all the ingredients really came through. The tuna tartare was great too! We had a very friendly, kind, and knowledgable waiter, who was attentive (and shared my love of Worcester MA which is always a plus!). The Farm style ambiance was modern and clean, and fits into the West Concord setting. parking was easy, right behind the restaurant by the train. My only gripe was how pretentious the host staff was (it's difficult to take a snobby attitude seriously when the 99 Restaurant is the view from the front windows). I understand the negative comments regarding the restaurant when it comes to their demeanor; but this won't stop me from going back, the meal was outstanding! read more

I was at Woods Hill Table this past Friday. The ambiance is very nice and welcoming. The food was just okay. When ordering my glass of white wine, the Waiter seemed very knowledgable about the wines. My husband inquired whether the wine had grapefruit and explained to the Waiter that I am unable to have grapefruit. The Waiter assured us that there was no grapefruit or citrus in the white wine. I ordered the pork rib appetizer for my entree. When it arrived the presentation was beautiful, however, there was grapefruit garnish throughout the dish. While I didn't think I needed to ask about grapefruit in a pork ribs plate since we had asked about it with the wine, I would have hoped the Waiter would have caught it for me. read more

After growing up in concord and reviewing restaurants in the Back Bay for three years this "restaurant" was more than disappointing. Would of been good if my bartender wasn't pregnant...? This is billed as an innovative eclectic foodie farm-to-table restaurant but instead what we had was very over-priced ($30 entrees, $20 appetizers, $65 bottle of wine, $15 dessert = $160 plus tip) and not tasty at all. The roasted broccoli was the best thing we had, and indeed that was good. The gnocchi was tough and tasteless.. awful in fact. The roasted vegetables with a gelatinized cauliflower (flan like) gimmick was overall tough, tasteless and such a disappointment. The dessert was entirely unremarkable.. I can't even remember what we had now. And the cappuccinos arrived lukewarm. Of note is the meat on the menu.. a 28 oz prime-rib that costs.. brace yourself.. $120. Really? I don't expect this place, 6 months old, to last. Absolutely do not go here for a special occasion or with friends. You will be all the more disappointed. read more
