This place is beyond amazing. Everything is homemade and delicious. Cara is super friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcome. I was lucky enough to get the Burnt Ends and my mom had the dark meat chicken. Our plates were clean for sure. My advice would be to get here early because it's really popular. Good remarks from the family all around the table and everyone was satisfied with their meals and the great service with a smile. Our family ordered sandwiches: the big dawg, beef brisket, the Cuban, kids meals and the pulled pork(so tender, smoky and flavorful) meals. Sides that stood out as highlights were the coleslaw, potato salad, Mac and cheese and the Brunswick stew. Highlighted bbq sauces were the sweet and spicy, Carolina gold and the smokehouse original. My husband and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon on our way home from a Florida camping trip. We chose to sit outside in one of their cute rocking tables. We started off with the buttermilk fried veggies, first of all be warned that this appetizer is huge and enough for at least 4 hungry adult, they were delicious although their spicy ranch was more of a ranch with one dash of hot sauce. For our entree we shared the brisket burnt ends sandwich with tater tots. The burnt ends didn't seem to be true burnt ends rather just fatty brisket pieces cut into cubes, but the flavor was ok. The sweet and spicy sauce tasted like doctored ketchup and I wouldn't put it on anything other than dipping my tater tots. The tots were basic, not bad not good just basic. Well let me tell you, this was the best meal of our trip! (Chicago to Sarasota). We were looking for a barbecue place and oh my God we found Mecca. First off, our waitress Lisa, was the best waitress we've had in a very long time. And I wish everyone could experience her personality. We would go there again just to see her. We started it off with the burnt ends Mui Delicioso. Then, I got the two meat plate (pulled pork and brisket) my sides were mac & cheese and Brunswick stew. This is my second trip here. The first time I sat outside in a swinging chair inside a screened porch. This time it was toooooo hot! The appetizer that's different are the pork rinds. They are pretty damn good. I hate not doing the first review because I isn't have anything to go back and reference but .....the ribs are very good, the brisket is excellent. The food was ... adequate. That's really it. There's nothing special about the Q at this place and that disappointed me as I SO wanted a better alternative to the Pig down the street. The building itself induces mild claustrophobia - I can't understand why there would be no windows at all. From the outside I had assumed it was a "dive" based on the lack of windows and was prepared for that - inside it's this nice family establishment that, other than the lack of any exterior openings, would be nice. We showed up at 5pm on a Saturday and they were already out of several items. As one of the other reviewers alluded to - let's stop making excuses for how good the food is and start assuming they can't plan very well. Because the food isn't that good. They had a special appetizer this evening - a chicken spring roll. That - that was good. We were encouraged by it and looking forward to our meal after having it. The main meal though? Entirely forgettable. pulled pork - dry, needed copious amounts of sauce to become edible ribs - also dry, not "fall off the bone", had to gnaw on them a while kid's grilled cheese - if I can see the individual slices of cheese inside the bread you're not melting them and you're doing it wrong mac & cheese - no part of it tasted home made, weak cheese sauce that you could spoon out brunswick stew - being this close to savannah, making it wrong should be a crime; this wasn't brunswick stew, it was tomato stew The main meal was so disappointing we skipped desert. While we like the ambience better than hectic nature of The Pig, we won't be going back. read more

This is probably my favorite BBQ I've ever had and here's why. It was DELICIOUS! It was quick, priced reasonably, great quality and fantastic service. We started with the Pork Rinds which came to the table still popping. It was a huge order, they were hot, fresh and topped with a BBQ seasoning that was just the perfect touch. My husband and I shared a plate of burnt ends and quarter white chicken. Both meats were juicy and flavorful. For our sides we had the whole fried okra which was crispy and light, not greasy at all. Plus Mac and Cheese which had such a great flavor and just the right amount of creaminess. Our server was friendly and super efficient. We were just driving through, but what an awesome find in Valdosta! Wish they had one in St Pete! read more

We came up from Florida on our way to hike in Georgia and found this gem. We ordered their appetizers - Fried Pickles, BBQ Pork Rinds and Fried Veggies. They were hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned. The pork rinds were still popping when they came out. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu including The Beast sandwich, pulled pork and Dirty South. Different experience and food flavors than smokin pig bbq but quite the competition. Unlike smokin pig, the atmosphere inside is a quieter sit down area. There is a place for live music as well. Great place to wait for take out. Have eaten in and taken out and never been disappointed with the bbq. There was one sandwich that I didn't care for but off the top of my head I don't remember what it was called. There was nothing wrong with it just the flavor profile wasn't my thing. The mac had what seamed like Ragu alfredo sauce and the beans tasted like the can. The chicken wings were under cooked and the brisket was over cooked. Most good BBQ joints have 1, maybe 2 good sauces. Vinegar, mustard, tomato choices. My regret - I heard that they have an Alabama white sauce - wish I had tried it. Only two very minor "room for improvements" -- iced tea (unsweetened) was a tad weak for my taste but very fresh (I cannot stand old tea) and saltines were a tad stale. Excellent bbq. The only other place i have found who understands "burnt ends" is mojo bbq in saint Augustine Florida. Pork was moist, smoked perfectly, and the fried okra is the best i have ever had. I find myself coming here for lunch a lot more often than I expected. It's just plain good. I've literally never sat inside because they have a very nice outdoor seating area. The service is consistently good and friendly. The good is always exactly the same quality. My usual go to is simply pulled pork, but I think my favorite is the brisket plate. It comes with large slices of well seasoned and cooked brisket, and two sides. The sides are what you would expect, and very tasty, I recommend the whole fried okra and the Mac n cheese. My one gripe I serving size. It's always inconsistent and sometimes a fairly small serving size. Today my friend got maybe 7 sweet potato fries total, not cool. I will continue going here, and you should as well! read more
