GIANT SLICES! This is the go to spot for quick and giant slices of pizza late at night. I wouldn't necessarily come here for sit down pizza but it is a delicious late night pizza. We went here two night in a row in fact!

The downtown location has worse everything than the other Benny's locations. I stopped in after a walk down king to grab a slice and the staff are definitely not very nice here. The pizza is okay, warm but not hot. I asked for a cup for water and they told me they can't give cups or tap water to customers, you can only buy a bottle of water. You do get your food fast, but thats the extent of the good service. The staff seemed annoyed that anyone was coming in and it was only 9pm, so I'll stick to the Mount pleasant Benny's where the staff is awesome and the food is hot.

    Gigantic pizza to go!

Had a super delicious slice of sausage pizza to go. Huge! The counter person was swamped but held it all together with aplomb. A couple of stools to sit on, not very comfortable so I took my slice back to my hotel. Crispy crust and great flavor!

Customer service was good no issues with any type of communication. Definitely not no wait even though it was packed. Got to love how big these slices are. Not chewy or saggy in the middle, perfect crunch. If you are up for a challenge you can try to eat the 28" pizza in 28 minutes for some money. Definitely would recommend and go back

The pizza was HUGE, we ordered 3 for our staff and it was plenty. They delivered it in a timely manner via Uber eats. But of course as big as it was and being togo, it didn't arrive remotely hot, barely warm. Which is fine bc I don't have to eat it hot, but honestly it was just average to ME. This may be your style of pizza but not exactly mine. Large slices that you can fold easily to eat, but just pretty bland and ok. I do want to come back and maybe try a slice in house to see if it's that much better. For now this is my experience with it togo.

Ok I know many will question a five star rating for a slice joint in Charleston. But hear me out I have lived on slices all over the country before. This place has what you want, and only that and nothing else. They make like five things. They have a special slice and cheese and a couple meats and mushroom. But the slices are huge and really good. So big the great gal servicing the counter talked my teen out of getting two. The special was the Mighty Olive and had gobs of what amounted to green and black olive tapanade. Perfect salt level. I had to cut the slice into like five or six pieces and fold each one to eat it. They have a dark wood space with limited seating but it's a good window to people watch from. If you just want a slice get one. Not two!

I've been to Charleston twice in the last couple of years and my wife and I go out of our way to grab a slice at Benny's. Excellent slice of pizza, decent price. Great for grabbing a simple lunch while walking down King.

    Great giant pizza.

Great pizza, outstanding service when we ordered. The atmospheres was what you would expect from a pizza place. Outstanding NY style pizza.

Pizza was great and crispy but needed more sauce in my opinion. Loved the slice sizes! Workers didn't seem too thrilled to be there but they got all of our needs met and the food came out fast! The decor in the building is very unique and vibey. The music was great lots of tame impala! Would recommend for a quick pizza stop if you're staying downtown!

Just got 2 slices for $15 with box, not worth it. Maybe it's because I'm from New York but not worth $15 for 2 slices. Never again

They have a bar to serve your favorite beverages. This is a great place for families or just hanging out with friends. I ordered a veggie pizza. This is New York style pizza and the slices are huge. Usually we prefer table service, but honestly the bar is the way to go here since you get a front row seat to the pizza making. We ordered a half pepperoni and half sausage pizza. As I saw the beautiful pies coming out of the oven they were all getting dressed with fresh parm and basil and I was worried I didn't add that for ours, but after feverishly flaging down our server he reasured me that all the pizzas come with the special treatment at the end (unless otherwise noted). As I calmed my nerves I sipped on some delicious bottle of sweet tea. It was only the slightest bit sweet and so refreshing. Plus we ordered a salad as well. We were concerned about the size of the salad when we saw our neighbors come out, but our server let us know we could get a half Caesar if we preferred. The salad is a must have. I love how they just chop the ends off the romain and add the perfect amount of dressing, crunchy bread crumbs, and loads of cheese. The pizza came out shortly after and it was perfection. If you're looking for thin crust northern style pizza then you will definitely find it here. They also use top notch ingredients making this a pizza one to remember. Surprisingly I enjoyed the sausage even more than the pepperoni. We were stuffed after only eating half the pie so we boxed it up and took some cannoli to go. They did half regular and half strawberries that had local strawberries mixed into the ricotta! We enjoyed all of it so much that we ordered the same items for takeout only a week later. I definitely enjoyed dining in more than takeout, but both are a great option. The online ordering was super easy and even though it was slammed when I arrived, they had my pizza, salad, and cannoli ready to go at the window when I arrived.

We waited 15 minutes until my friend got back up and asked them about his slices, it seemed they had forgotten about it and then they quickly handed him his slices after apologizing for the long wait. Despite mine being great, his was not unfortunately. His looks like it was pulled out of the oven early and was still floppy. No crisp to it at all. That's what some people like but I don't believe it's the standard. Despite this, his slices tasted good, I mean, how can you mess up a pep slice. The prices were alright for the area, I think my slice was like almost $4 after tax. I'll probably be back because of the convenience of being able to just order and pay right away and then get a slice a few minutes later. I would overall recommend.

Pizza is also available by the slice, which is what I ended up getting. Originally, I wanted to order an 18-inch cheese pizza, but the waiter told me it would take about 30 minutes and recommended ordering by the slice instead. I tried the cheese pizza by the slice. The pizza had a classic New York-style feel, but my slice was a little dry and slightly burned. It was decent overall, just not the best pizza I've had. If you're looking for a quick carryout spot with New York-style pizza options, it may be worth trying, but I'm not sure it would be my first choice for pizza.

So it's entirely possible (and understandable) that I don't always get the best of what a place has to offer. That said, this was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I was happy to see a place offer NY style pizza by the slice; you don't find that a lot in Charleston. Well, you won't find it here either. It was, generously, a home cook's first attempt at making pizza. There's something fundamentally off with the dough recipe, such that even a wood fired oven can't save it. The slices were overloaded with cheese. It was like eating wet cardboard. The meatballs were pretty good! The bartender was super pleasant and the space is attractive and welcoming. But they cannot make pizza. Normally I'm loathe to air out my business on Yelp like this; I prefer to communicate with the server if there's a problem with my food. But this wasn't an execution issue that could be fixed. A do-over would've produced the same result. Maybe, MAYBE they crush it with the neopolitan specialty pies. But I'll never know.
