After an incredibly frustrating experience at the Fairfield Dick's Sporting Goods, I felt compelled…read moreto recognize an employee who truly understands customer service. I purchased a pair of softball cleats for my daughter online. Unfortunately, they ended up being too small. She wore them briefly while sitting in the dugout at practice, immediately realized they hurt her feet, and took them off. The cleats were essentially brand new. When I attempted to exchange them at the Fairfield store, I was met with resistance from management. Anna Pintane refused the return and was extremely condescending throughout the interaction. Instead of listening to my explanation, she lectured me about how cleats should be worn around the house before practice and even told me that if they didn't fit, I should sell them to a teammate or on Facebook Marketplace. I couldn't believe that was the solution being offered by a store manager. The entire interaction left me feeling dismissed and disrespected as a customer. Fortunately, I decided to try the Pleasant Hill location. What a completely different experience. Mike McKensy (store manager) was absolutely wonderful. He listened, understood the situation, treated me with respect, and promptly processed the return of the cleats that were still essentially new. He was professional, friendly, and focused on helping the customer rather than finding reasons not to. Mike turned a very negative experience into a positive one and restored some of my faith in Dick's Sporting Goods. Customer service like his is exactly what keeps people coming back. If you're shopping at Dick's, I highly recommend the Pleasant Hill store and especially Mike. He is an outstanding example of how customers should be treated. Thank you, Mike, for your professionalism and for making what should have been a simple exchange actually simple.

I'm updating my previous review because Abraham Baiza went above and beyond to make things right…read more During my first two stringing experiences, I unfortunately ran into quality issues, including one racquet that was missing a string. It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. I'll definitely be back for future stringing and would recommend them to other tennis players.

Andy and Christopher helped me take my FSC test and to get the guns I wanted! And for the price everything went perfectly! I will definitely be buying from them again they were friendly and knowledgeable as well! Didn't give any of that dismissiveness I've gotten from bass pro or Antioch armory! The staff is incredibly slowwwwww, while I understand providing a good customer experience, they don't know how to manage their queue of customers. Instead of understanding that they have a line that isn't moving and growing, they delay helping others by talking to their current customer more. I wanted to support a local business but should have just order the optic off Amazon for the same price and saved myself time and frustration. So far I've been here 45 minutes and nobody has called a single name. I was hopeful this place would be better than sportsman's but I was wrong. It's somehow worse. My name was finally called, from being called to walking out took sub 5 minutes. Again poor queue management.
