Been going to Todd for 15+ years now, he wont recommend something just to sell it, he's recommending it because he knows his stuff just don't rush him. can't rush perfection. I've seen him take apart reels that is used on party boat that probably should go in the recycling bin already but he can bring it back to life and it'll feel like it's brand new. his custom rods A+

Todd is awsome! What more can I say? He has been more than helpful on the many occasions I have stopped by at his shop. He even puts in a few pointers to help me when I fish. I am glad to have such a great shop to go to that is local to me.

A copy from Avet site with cost & terms to service reel.

My go to place for fishing reel repair. Todd can handle any fishing reel in need of repair and his rates are very reasonable.

He looks at the rod & says no problem, looks at me & says it's probably going to cost you about $45 parts & labor.

I purchased a pair of softball cleats for my daughter online. Unfortunately, they ended up being too small. She wore them briefly while sitting in the dugout at practice, immediately realized they hurt her feet, and took them off. The cleats were essentially brand new. When I attempted to exchange them at the Fairfield store, I was met with resistance from management. Anna Pintane refused the return and was extremely condescending throughout the interaction. Instead of listening to my explanation, she lectured me about how cleats should be worn around the house before practice and even told me that if they didn't fit, I should sell them to a teammate or on Facebook Marketplace. I couldn't believe that was the solution being offered by a store manager. The entire interaction left me feeling dismissed and disrespected as a customer. Fortunately, I decided to try the Pleasant Hill location. What a completely different experience. Mike McKensy (store manager) was absolutely wonderful. He listened, understood the situation, treated me with respect, and promptly processed the return of the cleats that were still essentially new. He was professional, friendly, and focused on helping the customer rather than finding reasons not to. Mike turned a very negative experience into a positive one and restored some of my faith in Dick's Sporting Goods. Customer service like his is exactly what keeps people coming back. If you're shopping at Dick's, I highly recommend the Pleasant Hill store and especially Mike. He is an outstanding example of how customers should be treated. Thank you, Mike, for your professionalism and for making what should have been a simple exchange actually simple.

They say that they are engaging their customers... when in reality I felt that I was being viewed with suspicion and doubt as I tried on a pair of shoes and perhaps looked a bit dismayed when the common sizes I was looking for were not surprisingly out of stock. So Because I left the store without buying anything - store staff alerted police to my shopping habits and I was interrogated by a Pleasant Hill PD concerning my lack of purchasing at Dicks... not that I stole anything, just that my image as a shopper didn't match their image of a paying customer?! Since when do sporting goods store clerks determine what is probable cause to detain someone (a mile down the road have you) ? I understand that shoplifting is rampant in this area but that is no reason to treat someone who has no intent to steal in that fashion. Meanwhile the only engagement I had with any of the Dick clerks at Dicks came from me asking questions only to receive half assed Answers. Just a shtty experience all Around. I've bought plenty of items over the years from Dicks but I will never shop there again. As for pleasant hill PD sending out their rookie to investigate the Dicks lead that I didnt buy anything so therefore I was there to yada... yada... yada.... Go solve some real crime and use your brain before detaining me. Next time it'll cost you $

It is rare to find a manager so willing to dive into the technical details with customers. Michael is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and clearly takes pride in ensuring you walk away with the right gear for your specific needs. He didn't just point me toward a product; he took the time to discuss the nuances of the equipment, which I genuinely appreciated. The entire atmosphere of the store reflects his leadership organized, professional, and welcoming. If you're looking for someone who actually understands the sport and treats your questions with respect, go see Michael. I'll definitely be returning to this location for my future guns.

This store does not appear to care about their customers…read more The store left me two voicemails saying I had until close of business on August 21 to pick up a roughly $1,000 firearm. I relied on that and went well out of my way to get there well before closing, only to learn that they had canceled the transaction earlier that morning. Mistakes happen. But what really bothered me was the response. First they blamed me - they said I was late and this was just their policy, despite *two* voicemails from their team member (Michael) telling me otherwise. The manager (Kevin) then told me that *I'd* need to pay for another background check and initially refused to cover it due to their mistake. I later emailed the store manager, Bill Curtis, to explain what happened and give them an opportunity to address it. He did not respond. I don't live anywhere near the store. I relied on their representations and wasted a good part of my day. I'd think twice about trusting them and doing business with them in the future.
