They should value your time more. They seem to lack communication between the techs and salesmen. There is no accountability within their team and what they commit to. They seem to want to upsell you and not just take care of what you came in for and let you just figure out what you would like to do on your own. I also asked for paperwork for the inspection so I can show car dealer since I just purchased this car and for some reason they didn't think they could do that. So strange. I took a picture of their device that reads the tire threads but that's all I have. I don't know how you do business that way and expect to make a purchase happen without any paper trail for people have. Only ding I'll give is that no one was available at the front counter for about 5 minutes, even though I was trying to check in for my appointment at 10am. However, once we did get down to business (was coming in for a free pre-trip inspection, along with replacement of wiper blades, and a set of snow socks to travel through Colorado compliantly), everything was professional and thorough. About 30-45 minutes after service began, the soft spoken gentleman came back to discuss the alignment of the wheels; apparently majority of them were approaching the recommended thresholds and is thus recommended to realign them to maximize fuel efficiency, especially for a 1800 mile one way trip. This cost about $160; snow socks were about $120. Towards the end of the visit, Jorge courteously went to discuss snow chain options (between the traditional chains and the snow socks), and we chose the snow socks (good to have, good to put on for last resort, and easy to return for full refund). All in all, the visit totaled about 1.5 hours, but I felt the value both in time and money was well spent, as I left with the peace of mind that the wheels are better prepared for the long journey ahead. I should note that the fuel efficiency after the visit was lower than expected; however after doing additional research, I found this to be because of the new all-season tires I got the month prior; apparently the new treads ironically drag the vehicle more, thus creating that deficiency. As the tires wear down, fuel efficiency will level out. A bummer, but good to know all the while. Thanks guys!

They put the wrong size tires on my car. When I brought it up, Sam repeatedly interrupted me, talked over me, and insisted he was right because "his computer said so." Apparently the computer is more important than the actual tires being the wrong size. Two other places confirmed the tires were wrong. I ended up going to a different Mountain View location, where they replaced both tires for FREE and were actually helpful, professional, and kind. They even agreed that Sam has a reputation for being rude. Mistakes happen. Being rude to a pregnant customer instead of admitting the mistake is a choice. That's exactly how customer requests should be handled. A couple of things I think should be improved: First, technicians should use seat and steering wheel covers. Dirty uniforms can transfer grease, brake dust, and dirt to customers' interiors, and protective plastics have been standard at many shops for years. Second, I understand checking the spare is company policy, but if customers have belongings covering it, please don't place those items especially food on the shop floor. I'd rather be asked first, as I could have told them the spare didn't need to be checked. Overall, quality service, but these small changes would better protect customers' vehicles and belongings.
