For the last couple of years, this area has declined, and it seems that Work world has allowed this location to pretty much die off. The staff is unattended, and just generally does not care to be there. it is such a large company you would think management would step in at some point. They have signs all over the store that let you know that there is a sale going on. Get to the register and E......a rings me up, doesn't mention the sale and doesn't charge me the sale price, after I have to remind her that the items are on sale, she rings them up again with no apology or anything and saved myself $40 ! A lot of one star reviews and it sounds like they were earned. Fortunately I have had better experiences each time I've shopped this location not always by much but it has been better. Most recently as last week. Upon entry we we greeted by a tall guy at the counter chatting with a gal co-worker as she helped guests. There were a few people in the store (at least 8) we needed help with a pair of boots we were helped right away. While we were at checkout there was a price discrepancy on a pair of pants. The guy was quick to give a lower price adjustment. Overall this is a good store. They have the clothing many people need. If I had a complaint it would be limited stock for womens items. Wondering if it's due to everything being closed or limited right now or if they're phasing out that section. read more

Great place to get boots and work/workout clothes. I ended up buying a pair of work boots that were defective and started to split after just 3 months of light use and they let me exchange them for another brand with no problem. Pretty deserving of of their terrible reviews. I stopped in after work to get a polo shirt and just to take a quick look around for a jacket I might want. I asked to try on the shirt and Brandon was very annoyed that I had asked, only reason why he walked over to show me where the fitting rooms were is because he had a key to let me in. So I go to the checkout counter to pay for my shirt and was involved in a conversation with another employee didn't bother to say hi or check in with me to see how the shirt fit or any sort of communication. If this is how retail stores are going to be in this day and age I'm glad brick and mortar is going by the wayside. I didn't even wanna spend the money that I spent in there and I will never go back. All of the one and two star reviews of this place are for a reason. I've been a Yelp member for years, but have only experienced customer service so absolutely awful that I bothered to write a review. I need navy blue pocket T-shirts for work. I don't mind paying a little more to buy locally and support small business rather than Amazon or WalMart. However, Work World charges $15 for the same exact shirt I can buy any day from Amazon or WalMart for $9.95. If Work World does not have the most amazing customer service experience to justify paying that much extra, they've got NOTHING. I was "greeted" (grunted at) by Brandon. From the minute I walked into the store, it was obvious he not only did not want to be "working", but having to stop picking his teeth, rolling his eyes, and then walk to another part of the store was a serious interruption in his afternoon. I don't know if the kid is borderline retarded or just the most apathetic jerk ever to work in retail, but he could not, or would not, tell me the difference between Carolina Boot Company and Thorogood boots. They did not have the 10.5 size I asked for and he could not tell me when or if they would be getting more in. I asked if they ran true to size. He did not know. He didn't bother to find out either. Anyone with half a brain or who cared even slightly would have offered for me to try the next size up. I find it sadly ironic that the people at Work World don't actually want to be working. We bought a pair of shoes $100 ( at the codding town location) and wore them once in the house only to be the most uncomfortable shoes EVER!! I've spent money here several times, but the staff is brutal. The manager lady isn't helpful and was condescending. She's the brown haired one. I walked up to the counter with items and no one even acknowledged me. I had to engage the staff. The younger, newer girl was most willing to end their conversation to get me to not wait there. As someone who has worked retail for 25 years, this place has gone downhill so drastically it's unimaginable. The woman who was apparently the acting manager on duty, was dressed like a clown, and was so unorganized it was ridiculous. Not to attack her personally with her personal Style by any means, I'm just saying it to point out how very unprofessional for this type of establishment. If you've ever work retail then you know very well that you stock up on small bills for Sundays leading up to holidays so you don't run out. This poor girl was calling nearby stores to see if they had ones because they were completely out. Not only did nobody greet us or asked us if we needed help or anything at all whatsoever, but the kid that was ringing us up was a young man who looked like he was so high that he could care less about anything going on around him. I bought two pairs of pants, and it was a 5-minute transaction because he could not maintain his focus, and could barely keep his eyes open. Honestly I would kind of love to step in and work for the store because I really would have been firing that kid already, he was way too intoxicated to beat standing behind to work counter. I will be back because I need to shop here, as it's the only place I can get certain things for work. But I'm thinking I might end up going to the Coddingtown location from now on if this place maintains this level of employees.
