I am extremely disappointed with my ongoing experience at World Car Kia North and, after more than a year of trying to resolve the same issue, I feel I have exhausted my options. When I purchased my Kia, I also purchased and paid for both a service/maintenance plan and tire and rim protection. More than a year later, these products have still not been properly activated or reflected in the dealership's system. I have now visited this dealership approximately five times and have had to explain the same issue repeatedly to different employees. Each time, I have been told it would be addressed, yet the problem remains unresolved. During my fourth visit, I was there for a separate tire issue and again brought up the fact that my coverage was not showing. It still was not corrected. I was also previously advised by dealership personnel that the Finance employee who originally sold me these products was no longer employed there due to issues with her work. Whatever occurred internally, however, should not become the customer's responsibility. I purchased these products through the dealership and paid for them in good faith. Now I have had a tire blow, which is exactly the type of situation for which I purchased tire and rim protection. I have been trying for three days to get this resolved. While I have possession of my vehicle, it is currently on a spare tire, and I cannot reasonably continue driving it this way while waiting indefinitely for the dealership to address a coverage issue that has already existed for more than a year. Today I called again and was advised that Bailey was off and that "she can call you tomorrow." I understand employees have days off, and my frustration is not with someone being unavailable. My frustration is that an issue this longstanding apparently cannot be handled by anyone else in her absence. After explaining the situation again, I was transferred to Finance. Unfortunately, this has become the pattern. Every time I call, I am transferred between departments. I have specifically requested to speak with a manager multiple times and have yet to actually be connected with one. At some point, someone in management needs to take ownership of this situation rather than continuing to redirect me to another employee or department. I am not asking the dealership for a courtesy or exception. I am asking World Car Kia North to honor products that were sold to me by their Finance Department and that I paid for. I should not be required to pay out of pocket for something that should be covered because of an internal administrative failure to properly activate the protection plan. Likewise, I should not have to explain the same situation during five separate visits and numerous phone calls simply to receive benefits I already purchased. More than a year. Approximately five visits. Three days trying to resolve my current tire issue while relying on a spare. Numerous phone calls and transfers. Multiple unsuccessful requests to speak with management. And I am still trying to get the dealership to recognize coverage that I paid for when I purchased the vehicle. What makes this especially disappointing is that I have otherwise enjoyed my Kia and had been seriously considering purchasing a second Kia. This experience has made me reconsider that decision. Customer service after the sale matters just as much as the experience of purchasing the vehicle. I have now escalated the matter in writing to dealership management. If it cannot be resolved at the dealership level, I will pursue the appropriate escalation channels with Kia America and consumer agencies. I would simply like someone in management to take ownership of this issue, review my purchase documentation, correct the coverage I paid for, and provide a resolution. Went in this morning for our appointment then was told it have be drop off as they are 4 days out on electric services or something. Not mention they had my vehicle from March 2025 - Aug 2026 for Warranty Work Def think twice about going here. In the year we dealt with them we met 4 service managers then whole replacement service staff. We on,y gone back because current problem did not arise until after they rebuilt the engine. read more

When we left the dealership (because that's crazy), they called and said they would honor it but when we returned they decreased the value of our trade in from "in the 19k ballpark" to 12k..... after we had gotten other trade in values from 18-22k. If you value your time, your money, or basic competence, I would strongly recommend shopping somewhere else. I came into this dealership ready to buy a vehicle. We negotiated the deal, agreed to the numbers, discussed my Navy Federal financing, and their finance department gave me specific instructions on what I needed to do to complete the purchase. I followed those instructions exactly. That was apparently my mistake. After spending a significant amount of time at Navy Federal changing my financing arrangement specifically because this dealership told me to, I returned with exactly what they requested. Instead of having the vehicle ready and finishing the deal, I was met with confusion, excuses, and a completely different story than the one I had been given the day before. The vehicle wasn't ready. It wasn't detailed. My emails to the finance manager went unanswered. And after I had gone out of my way to satisfy their requirements, the attitude I received was essentially, "Well, that's your problem." What makes this experience so bad isn't simply that the deal fell apart. Deals fall apart every day. It's the staggering lack of accountability. If your own finance department tells a customer exactly what to do, gives that customer the paperwork to do it, and the customer spends hours following those instructions, you don't get to suddenly change the rules the next day and act confused about why the customer is upset. That is not customer service. That is not professionalism. That is a dealership wasting someone's time because apparently nobody bothered to make sure the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. And this was with a customer who was already approved, had financing lined up, had agreed to the deal, and was literally trying to give them money. Think about that. If completing a straightforward sale becomes this disorganized before they even have your money, I can only imagine what dealing with them would be like after the sale when you actually need something. The most frustrating part was the complete absence of ownership. No meaningful effort to fix the situation. No sense that anyone particularly cared that I had wasted part of two days following their directions. Just excuses and a shoulder shrug. I walked into this dealership prepared to purchase a vehicle. I walked out convinced I would rather drive across Texas to buy the same vehicle somewhere else than reward this level of incompetence with my business. Service department- appointment for 1st oil change 11am . I waited and waited the car did not go into the bay until 1:03 pm . An appointment does not count for your turn. The next car to come up in Q is the next car to be serviced. The service Department are so laid back they seem to be on "island time". I asked the salesman about this and he agreed this is not right. I bought my 2024 Kia Sportage here. At first everything seemed fine -- I was dealing with TC, the sales manager. He seemed professional, and I was even planning to leave him a 5-star review. But after the purchase, I found out there was no second key. First, TC said the place where it was kept was closed and promised to mail it the next day. Later, I was told the key didn't exist at all and had to be made from scratch. They offered two options: either spend my workday driving to them to make and program the key, or do it locally and they would cover the cost. It all sounded good, but in the end, nothing was done. Later, TC started replying under the name of another sales manager -- Mardini. Then Mardini himself, also a sales manager, promised to help but did nothing. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Not the kind of dealership where you "buy and forget with good memories." My journey with this dealership stretches back about 13 years when it was operating as Legend Kia. Back then, I had one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered in any business setting, let alone a car dealership. It was so terrible that I wrote a scathing review to make sure others knew what they were walking into. That review, however, was removed when new ownership took over and the dealership became World Car Kia North. But let me tell you--despite the years that have passed, the memory of that horrific experience, including multiple personal insults hurled at me by one of their sales managers, remains vivid. "Sticks and stones," they say--but for me to remember it this clearly tells you just how cutting and distressing it was. Still, times change, and dealerships rebrand, so I decided to give World Car Kia North a second chance when I needed to buy an additional vehicle (not replacing a current vehicle - getting a third vehicle for around town commuting that is better on fuel than mine or my wife's cars which are both AWD SUVs). Unfortunately, that proved to be a mistake. This visit didn't reach the abysmal depths of my previous experience, but it certainly wasn't far behind. I was paired with a salesperson who, I quickly learned, was brand new--literally, I was his very first customer. While that's not necessarily a dealbreaker, his inexperience was evident right from the start. He provided me with incorrect information multiple times, and it became clear that he didn't fully grasp what I was looking for or how easily I could get it if given the right deal. To clarify, I had no need for dealership financing--I came in with a check in hand from my local credit union. All I needed was to fill in the amount and finalize the deal--an incredibly simple transaction. Despite giving the dealership a chance to beat my credit union's rate, they made it clear they couldn't (except through promotional financing that would have nullified other incentives). The sales manager and even the general manager (Dan) came out to speak with me several times, but their focus seemed more on protecting their bottom line than on making a deal that worked for me. The general manager even flatly said, "At the end of the day, we're still in the business of making money." This statement confirmed what became increasingly obvious during my visit--this dealership prioritizes profit over providing a positive customer experience. While this visit didn't spiral into personal insults like my last encounter did, it easily earns the title of the second-worst car buying experience I've ever had. To be fair, I don't blame the new salesperson for what happened. The real problem lies in his leadership--if management is so poor and their communication skills so lacking, then he's being set up to fail. Or worse, he might adopt their ways and end up just like them. I won't mention his name, because he deserves the chance to grow in a better environment, and I truly hope he finds a dealership with strong leadership where he can thrive. I had hoped that World Car Kia North had changed for the better, but clearly, they haven't. Other reviews seem to echo similar sentiments, so if you're reading this, heed our warnings. After parting ways with them, I went to a competing dealership just a few miles away and walked out within two hours with a 2024 vehicle that met all my needs and more--and it wasn't a Kia, which I'm perfectly happy with. read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE | SHABBY ENVIRONMENT I recently took my Kia Sportage to World Car Kia for a basic oil change (that cost $80 - WTF???). Upon arriving to pick my car up, I waited for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged that I was standing there. If you have ever been to this location, you will know how small the service area is. During this time, I counted 7 employees within a 10-foot radius of me. Not a single person looked at me or even said, "We'll be right with you." While I stood waiting to be helped, a series of employees walked by with plates of food. Some even ate right in front of me at their work stations while I waited, still avoiding eye contact. When I finally was acknowledged by a service advisor, she gave me little attention beyond telling me my car was finished and to go directly to the cashier for checkout before dismissing me. At the cashier, I presented a service coupon that I wanted applied to my bill. I was told that a service advisor needed to apply the coupon. There were no service advisors on the floor. With this further delay and frustration, I asked to speak with the Service Manager. He could not be found. When a service advisor returned to the department and asked about his location, we were told he was "in the breakroom." [At least he did his eating in private.] When the manager finally arrived, I explained my situation and my concerns. His affect was flat and he clearly didn't seem to care that I was unhappy. Clearly World Car Kia isn't motivated to achieve 5-star ratings for their service. I will not return to this dealer. This is the worst customer service I have experienced from a car dealer in a very long time. The location is in poor shape - there is clearly little pride taken in their work environment. The service manager indicated that they were "in the process of renovating." I was at this same dealer 10 months ago, after having purchased my Kia, to have a recall on my vehicle handled. On 09 April 2025 I purchased a new car from World Car Kia North located in San Antonio Texas. The day I bought it I clearly stated to the salesman and the finance manager that I wanted to transfer the tags from my previous car. The salesman and the finance manager asked me to send a photo of the license plate. I successfully sent it to the salesman, but I mistyped the finance manager's number and he didn't receive it. The salesman said that he would take care of it. (They work in the same building but do not communicate with each other.) A few days later on Thursday, I received a text message stating that my registration is in at the dealership and that I can in to pick it up or they can mail it to me. I went to the dealership, but the office where it was kept was already closed. The sales staff and the managers on duty asked me to come back tomorrow. I told them that I will not come back tomorrow. Ask them to mail it to me. I checked my mailbox everyday for my registration sticker so that I could mount my hard plates on my car. On Friday morning the following week, I called the dealership to find out why I had not received the registration sticker yet. Then I learned that it had not been mailed out yet.( This is another example of lack of communication between staff members at the same building). That afternoon, the new set of plates were in my mailbox. I called to tell them I received it, but it was not what I requested. These were the generic plates and not my military retired plates that I wanted to transfer from my previous car. I called the dealership and left a message with an employee at the front desk. She called me back the next morning and I explained to her what happened. She assured me that the finance manager would be in to work at 12:00 and she will make sure that he calls me when he comes in. That he is the person that I needed to talk to about this. I called the dealership around 12:30. I called back around 2:00 requesting to speak to someone in finance department about this and I was told that everyone is out to lunch and that nobody was available. I called again around 3:00 and left another message. I called again around 4:30 and I requested to speak with the highest ranking manager on duty. The person that I needed to speak to answered the phone this time. I asked why he DID NOT CALL me. He apologized several times and started sidestepping in order to avoid answering my question of WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME?? He continued sidestepping and after I persistently asked the same question 4x, he finally answered my question. He admitted that he was "too busy to call me" I sent him a picture of the license plate that I wanted to transfer and this he confirmed that he received it. He apologized repeatedly. I used to work in the car sales industry and his behavior is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I elevated this situation to the general manager and he will see to it that I receive my registration sticker in a few days. I have my phone call log to indicate the dates and times that I called. THE ONLY REASON THAT I GOT TO TALK TO HIM IS BECAUSE I CALLED HIM. I USED TO WORK IN THE CAR SALES INDUSTRY AND HIS PRACTICE OF TREATING HIS CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'm 75 years old and have done business with countless dealerships in my lifetime. This is, by far, the shadiest, most dishonest and disappointing outfit that I have ever attempted to do business with. The further you move up the food chain from the sales person to the general manager, the worse it gets. We came very close to finalizing a purchase of a new vehicle until they pulled a flagrant bait and switch scam. After agreeing to pay the full MSRP price on an incoming Kia as well as agreeing on my trade-in value, the general manager stepped in and broke the agreed upon promise made by the sales department. My wife and I spent hours working with an experienced and respectable sales person named TC, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath us by Mr. Pena, the general manager who unexpectedly insisted that when the vehicle arrives, he will only sell it after the dealership installs a list of expensive, unwanted options. He admitted this was never part of the original deal, , but still he refused to uphold the original agreement. My advice to anyone wishing to purchase a Kia in the San Antonio area is to avoid World Car Kia North at any cost. This dealership is in desperate need of a management change and until this occurs, I would strongly advise searching for an alternate location that operates with an acceptable degree of integrity and professionalism. read more

I purchased a 2024 Telluride SX and after 6 months the window trim had begun to peel off. I called to setup a service appointment and was told this is a very common issue with these vehicles, especially in the south where the weather is hot (GLUE ISSUE). I asked if they would replace all the trim so that I wouldnt be having to replace each piece of trim, since the adhesive is expected to fail over time. She verified they would do so under warranty replacement. When I took my Telluride in for my scheduled 10am appointment two weeks later, I was told theyd only replace the individual trim. several hours later I called for an update and no one answered. I left a message with the front desk. Still no call back. After never reaching back with an update about their progress they kept my vehicle overnight. The next morning I went to pick up my vehicle and nothing had been done. They said they ordered the part which should have been done when I set up the appointment two weeks prior. Unfortunately I asked if they could run it through the wash, and this caused the trim to be completely stripped off the vehicle. It is now 3 weeks later, and still no one is answering the service line and no update about the trim replacement part. An offer of a lifetime warranty doesnt matter when the service is this sh1tty. Valuable lesson learned: NEVER buy from a company no matter how sweet sounding the deal unless they have verified quality service. read more

We brought our car in for a recall. The issue was resolved however, we were encouraged to order a new key fob since ours was not working. The buttons have fallen out. We were opening the door with the actual key which was no problem. When the new key fob arrived we left the car so they could program it. They called to say it worked on all doors except driver side door. We told them they needed to figure out how to unlock the driver door. They said no, they couldn't and we would have to pay full price of the key fob regardless or they would call the police and have us arrested. We are here now waiting to speak to a General Manager but have not seen that person yet. Meanwhile the Service Manager David Serna sits in the cashier booth in the dark with all lights off. I asked her to repeat herself, and she doubled down, saying she didn't want to "waste her time or mine" since I mentioned a six-month window. At that point, I told her if she was too worried about missing sales, I'd find someone else to help me. She had no issue with that and let me walk away. Here's the reality: car sales aren't always made in one day. Many people shop around, compare options, and return when they're ready to buy. A good salesperson knows that. Leslie, on the other hand, made it clear she only cared about an immediate sale--not about earning a customer's trust or long-term business. I bought a new Kia through them and it was an awful experience. I drove from out of town just for a select trim and color so I didn't have to test drive or anything and yet I waited from 11 am to 4:30 pm before I was allowed to drive it off the lot. Their lobby is in poor condition the AC wasn't working properly. There were scratches on the hood of the vehicle I was purchasing and the floor manager whom I asked to speak to not once came over to apologize for the wait or offer any incentive even though I was willing to buy as is. Other dealers I've been to always comp a touch up paint pen and when I asked my salesperson acted like that's never done. Just expect slow service, lacking sales team, and unmotivated manager to make the experience pleasant and efficient. read more

We bought a 2021 Kia Niro FE in the color of Dark Cerulean. We love our vehicle that we bought from World Car Kia North. Darryl was great in getting my second key to my vehicle and was had full knowledge of the vehicle he was selling to my husband and I. I've always wanted a Kia Niro for so long now and I finally got the vehicle of my dreams. My 2021 Kia Niro is quick and also silent when it's running. I love the Hybrid in this vehicle. I have been underwhelmed by this dealership. I was looking for a Kia Sportage Hybrid EX with the EX Premium Package and an interior that wasn't black. This dealership reached out even though they didn't have one. When I reiterated what I wanted, and stressed that was the only Kia of interest, they continued to email me to the point where it feels like harassment. It appears that Kia doesn't do custom orders and doesn't actually produce the EX with the Premium Package even though it is a build option on their website. Between 18-19 March 2025, my son had his Kia Forte towed to World Car Kia I-35 N, due to its failure to start. On the evening of 19 March I, Latasha McKnight, accompanied him to this location to discuss service for the vehicle. We explained the nature of this situation as well as a few other concerns to Mr. David Cerna. Mr. Cerna hands us off to one of his technicians to initiate a work order. During both interactions, I specifically asked about extended warranty coverage, if we would be contacted to let us know what the issue(s) were and I requested to be contacted prior to any work being done. We then provided contact information for the extended warranty company. We were assured that we would be contacted once a diagnosis was made AND prior to ANY work being performed. On 21 March 2025, my son received a voice message stating that his vehicle was ready for pick up. Once we arrived at the location, we were greeted by a technician who began to explain what had transpired since the drop off. He explained the work that had been done and quoted a fee of approximately $380-$390. Please understand this is not the same technician that established the work order. I explained to him that we requested to be contacted with diagnostic information and any fees not covered by the warranty prior to any work being done. He verbally understood and said that they did not contact the warranty company because they didn't have that information. He also stated that they went ahead and did the work because they "didn't think we would mind." This was upsetting to hear but he was willing to contact the warranty company to inquire about coverage. We agreed. Mr. Cerna then interrupted the conversation by stating that he previously informed us that diagnostic test fees were not a covered item. Mr. Cerna also states that they did not contact the warranty company because not only were the diagnostic fees not covered, the fuses they replaced were also not covered because they are considered to be a maintenance issue. In addition to this, Mr. Cerna advised us that "we should be happy" they did us a favor and we could have been charged a lot more. I did remind Mr. Cerna of our request to be contacted and that any out of pocket fees should have been discussed. This should have been my choice to make. Mr. Cerna continued his argument by stating that we could "take the car and are not welcomed back." I told him that was fine because I didn't appreciate the lack of communication nor his reprimanding tone. He then changes his statement and tells us that the final cost of the vehicle is now $450. I do not know how he determined this amount. I am writing to express my disgust and frustration with Mr. David Cerna and World Car Kia Service Department, in hopes of an amicable resolution. This situation could have and should have been avoided with simple communication. There is no need for it to have escalated the way it did. This embarrassing, unacceptable behavior is completely uncalled for and unprofessional. read more

My experience with the service department has been great! They were responsive to my needs and took care of the issues very quickly. The service rep was amazing. We bought a new Kia Nero on May 8 '23, which was damaged (slightly) while unloading it from the transport. As a condition of the sale and price negotiation, we were promised by the sales rep and the closing manager that the scrape would be repaired and we would be provided a loaner car. Despite many calls to get this resolved, two months have passed, and they have stopped taking our calls. We are now in their lobby still waiting for answers. Watch this space read more

Unreliable. Dishonest. Unprofessional. Disrespectful. We went to Kia North last Wednesday after getting a low ball offer from Carmax for our 2017 Forte. We had already consulted with a couple other dealers and were up front on what they offered. Eager to sell the car soon with a move scheduled in a few weeks, we shook on a fairer price for the car. Henry advised that due to new Texas laws, the POA we had for the second owner of the car wouldn't be valid and they had to send the title to be signed in person by the second owner (not a problem.) He advised it would be sent next day to arrive Thursday. We left the car on the lot and them with the key. Friday morning, the second owner advised that his bank had still not received the paperwork. I called Henry to get the tracking information for the shipment and found out it was not sent until Thursday. Henry did not have the tracking information, but told me he would be talking to the Finance department to get the information for me and that I'd have it before the end of the day. Saturday, I found myself suddenly unable to get connect with any person involved with the transaction: Eric the manager, Henry, and Felix from Finance all were unreachable. I drove back to the lot and asked Henry "What the **** am I doing here, Henry?" when I saw him crossing the sales floor. He directed me to Felix, who he said had the tracking number. Felix told me he did indeed have the tracking number, but that he's helping another customer right now and I will have to wait. After he finished, he told me that since I wasn't listed on the title (the title is in my wife's name) he can't give me the information. Finally, he admitted he doesn't have, and never had, the tracking number - only a department that is not there on Saturday has it, and that he would give it to us Monday morning. Monday morning, we call and Felix finally sends the tracking number - come to find out the papers were delivered Friday morning and could have been sent back for signing on Saturday - if only we had the tracking number. The second owner went to the bank and signed the paperwork in front of the banker, as requested, and sent the paperwork back. Tracking showed us it was delivered Tuesday morning. Tuesday we call and find out Henry is not in today, but that everything is "in order" and we can come in Wednesday to sign. Wednesday we call and Henry advises he will touch base with Felix and call us back. Then we get the call: the paperwork was improperly signed and has to be sent back for further signatures. Understandably frustrated with what should have taken 2 days now taking 8 days and rearing to take more, we told them to keep the title on hand and that we would come pick it up. When we arrived, Felix made insinuations to my wife that I am hiding information from her (she has been a part of this entire transaction, but has been tending to our 3-month-old throughout.) He returned our title and showed us a miniscule highlighter mark on the back of the title he said "clearly" showed what needed to be signed. He went on to explain how none of the delays were his fault because he gave us the tracking numbers (received on Monday, for a shipment that was supposed to send Wednesday but instead went Thursday), and when I told him giving us the information on Monday did us no good, he squared up with me and told me to leave. I exchanged a few uncouth (but WELL deserved) words with Felix, after which he told me I better watch my mouth. I told him to watch who he's threatening, and turned to leave the dealership with my wife - Felix waddling directly behind. As we left out the front door (words still being exchanged in both directions), Felix pushed himself up against my wife who was carrying my daughter, after which my wife politely asked him to leave her alone, and I sent him with his tail tucked back to his corner. Could not be more inconvenient. Your scheduled appointment means nothing. I found better, quicker service with a two second google search. Took my car in for a SCHEDULED appointment to run diagnostics. It was a Friday morning and I was going through the check in process to drop it off... they informed me "just so you know, we don't work weekends and we're about 3-4 business days backed up on running diagnostics so we likely won't get to this until maybe next Thursday or Friday." I reminded them I wasn't a walk in but had scheduled an appointment a week ago to bring it in. They said that didn't matter and the earliest they could look at it was late next week. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT FOR THIS FRIDAY THEN??? I'm going to schedule an appointment to park my car at your sketchy lot just so it can sit there for almost a week before anyone even looks at it?!?! The dealership is hard to get to and area in general is very run down. Canceled my pointless appointment and called another Kia dealer who got me in right away, ran a diagnostic that same morning, made a quick fix and I was driving my car home before we hit the weekend. read more

I wrote a review for a World Kia North 7 years ago after I bought a brand new car from them. I was so excited to purchase a brand new vehicle because I was paying cash and I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal available. I had done quite a bit of research on the safety ratings of each car before I settled on one, a brand new Kia Optima. You couldn't get me to stop raving about the vehicle and the service. Six weeks later I was involved in a terrible car accident. The car was hit from behind and shoved into the truck in front of me, and all that was left was the cabin, in perfect condition. Even though the hood and trunk were gone, not even a window on the cab had broken. Despite lifelong injuries from that accident, once my insurance policy paid out, I returned to World Car Kia North to purchase the exact same vehicle again, and also paid cash. I didn't even make a fuss when I went to pick it up and and was told they had missed placed the second key fob to the vehicle and would call and let me know when they found it. That day never came. The car has been kept in great condition, never missing a service date. Tune ups and new tires, oil changes with the best. So a few weeks ago when the car began to ride differently, it had to be driven out to the dealership, about 45 minutes away. On the way out, the car stopped, no warning, no service lights, nothing. I had it towed to the nearest World Car dealership, since it was late Friday. The following week I went across the highway to Kia and explained the situation. I told the while looking online, I read about the current recall update that needed to be done because Kia and Mazda vehicles were experiencing engine failure and the engines were needing to be replaced if it was eating oil. As I go to the service department I am greeted by a female service tech and a gentleman who introduced himself as a service manager. As I explained what I was experiencing with the car, and all I had researched, they both began talking to each other about the engine warranty extension that was currently going on. They asked us about symptoms and as they were filled in, they continued speaking about what to code it under since it was obviously something that would be covered under the recall. They said they would install the software update, run the diagnostic, and when the engine was coded, they would drop a new one in. It was as simple as that. Nothing but reassurance. I asked for a timeline since I work in a hospital and need my transportation, they replied they were 3 weeks behind on diagnostics and service. I asked about a rental, and was told they were three weeks behind on that as well. I said I would make due until I heard. They had me tow it over. Two calls that resulted in "we have no updates at this time, we're behind" resulted in the following email... "good afternoon Ms. Tostado, I wanted to update you on your vehicle. The technician confirmed the engine is knocking on your vehicle. your vehicle has an open recall for the ECU update for the knock sensor which once completed opens a engine warranty extension if the engine happens to go out after the update is completed. if the engine goes out before the software update is completed, KIA will not replace the engine under the engine warranty extension. Unfortunately since the update was not completed on your vehicle, KIA is declining the engine replacement. I can provide an estimate to replace the engine but would be at your expense. I can provide you with the phone number to KIA Corporate if you have any questions. 1-800-333-4542" In other words, they didn't run the update. They diagnosed it as a failed engine without doing any of the things they promised. Not even a phone call. Just an email asking if I'd like to pay for an engine cash from the company that had an open recall out on the engine. After I was led down the path that everything was going to be taken care of, this was very blindsiding. When I called back to speak to the service manager, I was told it was his half day. I called Kia Consumer Line. They informed me that the engine should be covered and there is an Enterprise rental deal for cars suffering with these issues while they are in service and repair. When my phone call was returned the following day, I was told by the service manager that he wasn't the person I spoke to and no one knows who it was. Not even the sales tech who was there. I asked to be transferred to the General Manager and the phone rang for 4 solid minutes. I am a person who was planning on being a lifelong customer. I know that car saved my life. We have a special needs daughter that I feel very comfortable driving around because of the safety rating and how happy I had been. To be let down this way, tossed aside, and to have had no contact from anyone, despite calls to the service department and requests for the General Manager to contact me. I am at a loss and so very disappointed I felt this was my only recourse. read more

Buyer Beware: This dealership is shady....1 star because the original sales rep was a nice guy (West), however sales reps don't make the decisions - the manager in the "box" does. We were able to work out a reasonable deal on a 2025 Kia Sorento, however I had not decided if I wanted to finance or lease the vehicle yet. Problem 1 - Dealer website said $299/m with some money down so I was intrigued. My sales rep did not have much experience with leases so he asked a more experienced colleague. That individual stepped away for 2 minutes to get me the details but came back with a lazy reply "its not advantageous for you" to which I replied "Id like to make that decision and based on the website it would be". He stared at my phone like he was hungover for a few minutes. Then I showed him if I built the exact car on kia.com the lease would be $299....He went to a manager and came back matching the $299 offer but wanted almost $12,000 down! He said I needed to pay dealer fees, tx taxes and depreciation upfront....This was not what the world car website said on the exact car I was buying, so I told him that this was a scam and I would just finance with my terms. Problem 2- When you work out financing, they provide a sheet to show anticipated payments. I asked what interest rate they use because the monthly price would depending on that... They said 8%. Sorentos had a special promotion of 1.9% for well qualified buyers so I was anticipating that conversation in the finance office. As I went into the finance office, they wanted me to sign the contracts without shopping rates or providing an interest rate. I had been pre-approved at my bank for less than 8% and was prepared to use that! Come to find out, they try to push you into the 8% rate discussed during the negotiation. I asked the finance person about the 1.9% special financing and he swore up and down that did not exist. So I again pulled up the website to show him the offer....He came back apologizing saying he had the payment sheet for a Telluride, not a Sorento causing the confusion. He then said he had to remove all pre-negotiated discounts on the car to qualify for this rate...I was beat down and couldnt argue anymore so I just accepted it but no where in the add does it say this. Lastly I asked him which deal was better the 8% with rebates or 1.9% with no discounts. He confidently told me the 8% however my math showed this would have cost me +10k on the purchase..... At the end of it all, I bought the car because my wife liked it, but I wanted to walk out 3-4 times due to feeling scammed throughout the process. This dealership trains its employees using Grant Cardone videos which teach them how to manipulate the deal in there favor. They tell you to your face they want the deal favorable for the customer but 2 of the 3 options were predatory. If you are not a confident negotiator or dont like buying cars, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

I recently moved to the San Antonio area and needed an oil change. I like using the dealership so I decided to KIA WORLD CAR NORTH. When I walked into the building the three female service employees were lay their desk taking a "Nap." I asked how long it was going to take for the oil change and tire rotation and was advised 1 hour to 1 1/2. There wasn't another customer in the building but I took a seat. After an hour, I walked up to ask the service writer (Kyle Kifer) to check the status. After asking Kyle how much longer, he stated "What did I tell you when you got here? I told you an hour or an hour and a half." Wow Kyle. .. is that how you talk to customers. He could of went to check on the vehicle and returned with and estimated time. Later, Kyle than decided that I needed a new cabin air filter an air filter and new windshield wipers. Mind you I used the wipers on the way their and they were perfectly fine. Plus the service department didn't show me the air filter, so I could make a decision based on what they looked like. I declined the offer because I had already decided that I would not take my vehicle back to this dealership nor spend any money here. After leaving, I immediately contacted KIA VICTORIA to schedule an appointment to replace the filters on Friday. KIA - WORLD CAR NORTH you missed out of a future customer that could have bought a car from you. Also, update your service center. It's dirty and outdated. Kia of San Angelo and Victory Kia - Victoria offers excellent service. Please take lessons from these two dealerships. read more

LIARS, CHEATS, SCUMBAGS! Not sure how they have a 4.5-star review on Google! First, it started with the sales guy. He was super nice when we test drove the car, but when the paperwork started to come out, it was clear he had no idea what he was doing. We asked simple questions, such as, "What is the interest rate?" and "Can we see the pricing breakdown again?" Every time, he looked confused about why we were asking these easy questions. Second, is the finance manager. He denied the fact that cars depreciate when you drive them off the lot - seriously!! They bullied us into putting a deposit down on the car, and told us if we decide not to get it, we would get a refund right away - lies! Now, they refuse to refund the money quickly, and instead, they want to write a check, which is not what we agreed. We called a few days later to follow up, and they let the phone ring off the hook, until finally, someone picked up, then hung up right away. Third, is some random sales manager, who once again, could not answer simple questions regarding car financing. He was rude, interrupted, and argued with us when we needed answers. He also put me on hold and never came back. Fourth, is the GSM. He will never call you back, but instead, Slydials you so it looks like he called. What an a**. WHATEVER YOU DO, AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. If I could give them a negative star review, I would. Not sure how they sleep at night. The only nice people there are the receptionists. My family went to purchase a new Kia today and not only if there the appearance package for $1999 that's not listed on the sales price on the website, but tack on another $3000 for market adjustment. FALSE AND DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING. Of course we declined the purchase and left. My husband called and spoke to a manager who admitted that they purposely don't tell people about these extra fees when they call fit a price so that they can get the person to come in. We just bought a 2020 Sportage from this outfit. Today someone called to schedule our "appearance " package install. Takes two days. I explained I neither purchased or want an appearance package. She said I did buy it. No one, not our salesman Darrell or the finance guy , Billy (?), mentioned the addition of the appearance package at $1795.00. neither asked if we accept or reject it. A subsequent conversation with our salesman was to the tune of " it was there on the paper work, you should have seen it" I would have seen it if it was pointed out to me as an added costs. They just shoved papers quickly for us to sign. This kind of service is why have bought our last five Kia's at Carmax and should have done it again. I am very disappointed and need out $1795 back.
