    Room with a view!!!????
    Stella K.

Executive summary: overpriced and not worth it! I was in NYC for work and decided to stay at this hotel. Big mistake. The room was old and tired, furniture looked ancient and the bed was made as if a toddler tried to make their own crib. See photos for evidence; the under sheet didn't even cover the bed! The room is in desperate need of updating. Oh, I asked for a high floor room; was given 2nd floor with a view of a wall! They have an electronic concierge, which is essentially an one-way communication (see text exchange). They are bombarding you with texts, but no one responds to requests or feedback. The only reason why I gave 2 stars as opposed to 0, is the staff. They are amazing; courteous, helpful, fun! Overall: stay away!

So far this hotel is really nice! I love all the amenities they have to offer. Best part is they have unlimited water bottles! Just fill it up and go! You can get distilled or sparking water. They offer coffee and tea too! The rooms are nice and clean! I highly recommend this hotel!

My trip with a cousin and a nephew to NYC last March was for me, a sentimental journey. My cousin booked this hotel without knowing that I had not visited the 911 memorial since it was the gated-off Ground Zero in ashes. She got a room on the 8th floor which had a very good view of the memorial. This hotel is right there, a stone's throw away from the memorial, and on an early Sunday morning before heading to church, I walked to it. Words cannot fully describe the emotions that welled up in me walking around, taking in the quiet water sounds, reading names and looking for Todd Beamer's. The hotel itself is very chic and adorable. Hallways are tiny, like in Tokyo. I loved the water stations where empty water bottles are provided, as well as filtered water. It is definitely a boutique hotel with fashionable and friendly front desk staff. There's a penthouse restaurant, too. The suite room itself was efficiently designed, using space well, like in Japan. Classy appointments - two sinks, both with granite countertops, L-shaped desk with outlets is like a room divider, floor-to-ceiling windows with heavy drapery, mini kitchenette, shower only (no tub) bathroom, two large closets, separate living room that has a pullout sofa, the window of which faces the memorial view with the tower. I have already told my husband I want to stay there with him next time!

5 stars all the way! This hotel blew me away. It had everything I needed. Check in was swift and staff were efficient and friendly. This hotel is in pristine condition and is beautiful even down to the hallways leading to the rooms. I must say they have all the proper protocols in place to deal with covid which was great to see. I stayed in the superior room with kitchenette and microwave. My room was pretty much a suite. I even had a living room space. The bed was the most comfortable mattress I have slept on inside of a hotel in a long time. I just melted into it. The best part was the incredible view of the world trade center right across the street! The room had a door that opened into a slight balcony. I couldn't stop oogling over the incredible view I had. I couldn't ask for more with this hotel, it was a superb experience!

    Room 313 mattress sinkhole

The mattress had an enormous sinkhole in its center the size of my torso. My sister and I both sunk in so deeply to the middle that neither of slept well the night before our half marathon. We discovered the divet at 10 PM and decided against changing rooms since it was so late and we had to wake up early, and that was a huge mistake since neither of us got restful sleep. We only chose to stay here as a convenient, safe place to sleep, and unfortunately it did not provide that, and we can't recommend it to anyone. If you're assigned room 313, immediately request a different one!

We had to wait 30 minutes after the check in (15:00) to get the room. The answer from team club quarters that the check in at 15:00 isn't guaranteed. In their website and their policy indicates 15:00 check in, it doesn't indicate that hours may vary. Front desk didn't even apologize for the delay. The room had dirty soap in the bathroom, socks from old guests under the bed. I was traveling with my toddler and we stayed in the 6 floor and the lock for window door wasn't working at all. So I had to put the chair in front door of it so I can take a shower without worry. Marlene (I believe was her name) in the front desk isn't welcoming and her body language is even disrespectful. I wouldn't stay here again. Good location but there are more better hotels around.

Friendly staff and great view! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to NYC and this hotel was wonderful. My only complaint would be that the neighboring rooms were very loud. Otherwise the room was clean, bed was comfortable, tv was nice and the shower was nice and warm. Overall 5/5 stars and would love to stay here again in the future, though the prices have gone up since my last stay (04/21/2021-04/24/2021) it has gone up around $200 more for the whole trip compared to last trip.

This is my go to hotel when I'm staying in Lower Manhattan. The rooms are small but that is standard for what you'll find in NY. It's a perfect location for when you want to still be able to go to all the touristy spots but don't want to stay in the craziness of midtown. Plus it's right across from One World Trade Center. There is a restaurant inside. On my last night I stopped there for a couple appetizers and one drink and while there met some great people at the bar and ended up staying for dinner. The food was actually really good. If you're looking for a fancy hotel while in NY, this isn't it. But it's clean, close to the subway, easy walk to Brooklyn Bridge and seems to be a safe location. I have stayed here by myself and walked throughout the area. NYPD command station is right next door.

Hotel was clean and decent! I loved the view from my room. The hotel has a snack and water area! The room was really small for the price but I guess that's expected for New York. The area was amazing! Close to the 9/11 museum, a mall, and subway! My only complaint- Our room smelled like vomit and the heater was broken. We had to use a portable heater and it was freezing! The the manager gave me a $40 discount due to the heater being broken. Staff was nice and friendly! Would stay here again!!

Amazing hotel, great location, my room was spotless and had a great view of the city. The customer service provided by Spencer and Christos was beyond exceptional! Highly recommended!

Firstly, we were disappointed that the rooftop restaurant and club, View of the World Terrace Club, was closed until next year - such a bummer because we were really looking forward to the views.

From the…read moremoment we arrived, it felt less like checking into a hotel and more like family welcoming us into a beautifully curated home in the heart of the city. Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. The lobby is pretty cool and hip. There's a small rooftop bar/lounge and a nice sized food/canteen area in the lobby. The location is outstanding. 50th just off 8th Ave...right in the heart of Times Square and walking distance to many other destinations. I would stay here in the future...2-3 nights is perfect. Just make sure if you're traveling with a companion (and sharing a room) that you REALLY like them.

One thing to note: the hotel sits right above a sports bar, so it can get noisy when there's a game on. The gym was a low point. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.
