I am OBSESSED with this store and wish I lived in Burbank so I could come here every day and buy tons of Dijon mustard and wine and popcorn and interact with the wonderful employees who are so incredibly helpful and engaging!! I want to move in. LOL. I have tons of photos but I have to find them on my phone chock full of pictures. There should be an app on the phone just for Yelp pictures. Needless to say, I was staying about four blocks away and I still took advantage of the four bottles for 20% off sale and schlepped them all the way to my hotel. If you haven't ventured to the Burbank mall in a minute, you may not be aware of some new stores cropping up here. Along with a fresh renovation of the mall that gives it a brighter, busier vibe, they've added Cost Plus on the first floor. While I'm not a frequent Cost Plus shopper, I did find a marble tray I wanted online and was able to reserve it and pick it up here. They have a dedicated cashier station for online pick ups so you don't have to wait in the regular line. This is one of those stores I wait for promotions/coupons before buying- because they're somewhat overpriced to start with and the promos make them reasonable. For the quality, most items aren't worth the full retail here- just keeping it real! Some of the throw & floor pillows on display were already missing buttons and unraveling, for instance. If you like to switch up your decor fairly often and aren't looking for more durable, longlasting goods, it's worth a stop. read more

I was visiting the Burbank area this morning and decided to go into the store. Upon returning home I realized I was double charge for an item. I called the store and spoke with an Associate named Sophia explained to her the situation and she bluntly said, "we can't help you out over the phone." I understand it wasn't her fault or mine, but she had no manners whatsoever or even apologetic about the situation. I asked to speak to her superior and her response to me was, " she's shaking her head no to me." When I asked her again may I please speak to her she then responded, " you can begin speaking she's listening." I was so flabbergasted on how they treat customers over the phone. In all the years I've shopped at multiple world markets I've never been treated so poorly. Finally the manager named Dawn spoke to me I explained to her the situation and she assured me if I take my receipt to a different location they would be able to help me with a refund. I asked her if she needed to notate anything on her system or the transaction note. She just responded with no and hung up. Just with this interaction alone I will never be visiting the Burbank location. read more

This location has much warmer, chill and kinder vibe/atmosphere. The selection is much more broad and it has a greater variety of products both food and gift wise. I usually find exactly what I'm looking for here and much more. Customer service here has always been top notch on my visits. If I needed help, I was assisted in a timely manner. The regional/district manger was there and she as well as another employee followed/stared while we were shopping. If you're a person of color or black beware. Had an amazing time at last night's Cost Plus World Market sneak peek. We were invited by our friends at Burbank Mom and the event, the store, and the staff were all amazing. Not only is this one of the roomiest World Markets I've been to, but it's also one of the prettiest. I especially loved the wall of chairs hanging behind the tables in the dining room area. Totally eye-catching and a breeze to shop as well. But, as the father of a nine-year old girl I must admit we were most excited by all of the cool and unusual toys, art supplies, and kid's books they carried. With Toys R Us heading the way of the dodo this summer, we realized that World Market might just be one of the last places in the area to buy toys! So, we'll definitely be heading back before our next birthday party! Oh, also, parking is easy to navigate and plentiful in the Sears lot and the new mall entrance in the rear helps immeasurably. We had a curbside pickup order here that wouldn't fit in our car. We even came back with another car and it still wouldn't fit (it was a desk). Elissa (not sure if I'm spelling this right) was so sweet and patient with us. She helped us even after the store closed to take the desk out of the box and load it into our car. Such a nice store to walk around to kill some time and find different snacks. They have a great little section in the back for food, chips, candy, chocolate, and beverages. The workers here are very approachable and helpful. You can definitely find little gems stocked on the shelves here, and they run weekly coupons and deals too. read more

This is a relatively new addition to the Burbank mall. It's right next door to Bed Bath and Beyond and there's one entrance from the outside and one from the mall. It feels kind of like a cross between a department store and a Cost Plus, lots of room for the merch and feels more spread out than the Glendale store. read more

One of the nicest stores! Cost Plus markets are always a fun place to visit and this one is the best by far. Super new, super clean, and many representatives eager to help. Excellent location right in downtown Burbank. They have two entrances, one from the mall lower floor by the food mart and one from the back street. As always they had fun world goodies, chocolates and oils and, and, etc! I am not sure if all the stores carry Cafe Du Monde's coffees, but this store had several different flavors of them! I also loved their fresh festive dish displays and summer furniture! I plan on returning next week for more buys. read more

I have a feeling I might end up spending more than I should in this place! Came here because I was organizing a brunch and was looking ti particular bowls and decoration for the table and I found exactly what I needed! There are two entrances for this newly opened store, one from the inside of the mall and one outside towards the parking structure, just next door from Bed Bath and Beyond. If you enter from the side of the parking structure a vaste selection of wines will welcome you, followed by delicious foods and snacks coming from different per of the globe. Then you will find the outdoors and kitchenware decorations and utensils, what I was amazed is the amount of Asian utensils and their variety. Loved the patio decorations as well. Terrible service I went to this store to get some stuff for my new kitchen. I was excited cause I really loved to have this store in Burbank. I got some items from the LAST CHANCE shelf. But when I tried to pay at the cashier they said that it wasn't on sale. They made me wait too long while they were checking the prices. At the end, they refused to apply the discount, their reason was that even if the item is in Last Chance self doesn't mean that it is on sale... does that make any sense?? Meh. I went in to purchase a bunch of glasses. Drinking glasses. I needed something to hold several and was wondering if they just had a big box. I walked over to the front register. Some dude was there. I asked him for help. He said he'd send someone over. I wanted five minutes. Ten minutes. Nobody. I walked over to him. He said, "Oh, nobody has come to help you?" Duh. I said, "Nope." He said, "Go back and wait. Someone is coming." I waited five minutes. Ten minutes. Nobody. I went over again. He said, "I guess everyone is busy." I said, "May I speak to the manager?" He said, "There is no manager today. I'm going to get someone." Finally, after another five minutes, someone came and helped. Generally I like these Cost Plus stores, but they've gotten more expensive with less service. I guess that's a sign of the times. read more

I was insuring for the holidays, and had gone into this location. I've always been a fan of WM and I think this location looks great. All was great, until I was paying. There was a cashier, an older woman with white hair, who was helping a customer check out. The customer needed help understanding a sale sign. In turn, this cashier was extremely rude, telling her that she didn't need to save money and that the sign wasn't important. The customer wasn't understanding, and instead of the cashier helping her, repeatedly told her it was all in her head and she didn't need to save any money. The customer gave up. It was upsetting to see customer service like this. As someone who also works in retail, I can't imagine my GM thinking this would be ok. read more

I can't thank employee Erica enough for going above and beyond to help me! I ordered several items online for curbside pickup. When I got home, I realized 2 pillows were missing from my order so I called the store. When I told Erica I didn't have time to drive back to the store that night and asked to refund the pillows, she offered to drop them off at my house after her shift that night! I was going out of town the next morning and needed the pillows for a redecorating project so she totally saved the day! I would never dream of asking an employee to deliver items, but she offered and pretty much insisted on "making it right" and I'm very grateful. The single star is for Cost Plus World Market ON-LINE CUSTOMER SERVICE, whose published (on the website) phone number doesn't answer--hasn't answered during the last several days, during the course of multiple calls. It rings and rings and rings and ... until it disconnects. So, I called a local store, to find out about my order. I gave the sales associate the order number and it never showed up on his computer, like I hadn't even placed the order--but I certainly have, proven by having an order number, printed receipt, and the SKU number of the (two of) the item I'd like to purchase. The local store was good on the phone (closed now to customers due to COVID) and suggested a way to remedy the on-line mail order issue, IF I could cancel my online order, & deal directly with the local store. Unfortunately at this typing I cannot find a way to do that (unlike with Amazon orders that can be cancelled). Without speaking to someone at the supposedly and perhaps erroneously called "Customer Service" phone number, even a cancellation seems impossible at this point... ...while I wait and wait and wait for someone to contact me from a ghost-like department called Customer Service: I have emailed Customer Service, via the website, and the no-reply email address that automatically replied to my queries say that someone would get back to me within 24 hours--HAS NOT HAPPENED yet. I give the local store great marks for trying (& because while it was open to customers the service was always friendly and helpful). I put only one star in the review in hopes that maybe someone from corporate would wake up and maybe start answering the phone at the number for supposed "Customer Service" that is published on the website, 877-967-5362, which the sales associate at the local store confirmed as still being correct. P.S. There are some other folk on social media who have the same issue with the phone number printed on the website for Cost Plus-World Market's alleged "Customer Service." EDITED REVIEW, awhile later: Cost Plus~World Market Corporate reached out and rememdied this problem. Goods were finally shipped, according to an email that finally arrived. I received the package AND the shipping cost was refunded. On top of that, my local store associate (just outside of Los Angeles area)--named Tariq, with whom I had previous conversation--called to let me know that the problem could now be made good on his end, locally. Apparently, the company had to re-organize a lot in terms of switching over to all phone/on-line service, as opposed to their always good service in-store. Goods recieved, apologies made, four-star rating today. And the last time I called the phone number listed on the website, there was a much needed outgoing message with some choices, so customers wouldn't be left hanging in the Twilight Zone. read more

I love "The World Market", it's one of my favorite places to meander through...so why only three stars? Pricey, ridiculously, needlessly PRICEY! When you pick up a simple small bowl and it's almost $10, or very small glass, and it turns out to be $8. You just put it back down. BUYER BEWARE.... love this cost plus except for the sneaky pricing they try and pull. I bought some brackets and 4 out of the 6 I was buying were marked $19.99, and the other two had an additional tag over the original tag listing price for $24.99. So when I got to the check out counter they refused to honor the original price. I was so confused why they weren't wanting to make this mistake correct. When I asked to speak to the manger the man stated he was the acting manger. Not so good acting on trying to make the costumer happy with their experience. So please check you price tags and make sure it actually is the price at check out that is ringing up. Very sneaky of them to do this not thinking people are paying attention. read more
